Video - Finally Friday: "love you" card by LynnGhahary posted 01/06/12 Galleries: Stamping, Cardmaking Hi everybody! I'm so excited to share my first Finally Friday video with all of you. For this card I decided to create my own subway art using lots of different stamps from Technique Tuesday. I have done this before on a layout and thought it would translate nicely to a card as well. I chose a fun twist on the traditional Valentine's Day color scheme by including pink, orange, aqua, and gray. I also printed my own graph paper using this website [incompetech.com]. Thanks so much for looking! :) Your challenge: Create a card or project using the subway art technique I've shared in my video! |

I want to make a card like this. Could you please tell me where I can find out more about the "subway" technique? I had not heard of it until I saw you use it yesterday.

Thank you for your information.
Since you say you are new at this, may I offer the following point of view"
Since "subway art" was the technique you said you were showing, it would have been better, I think, to show more of your process in creating the "subway art" piece -- how did you decide directionality, spacing, size of stamp, etc. Those types of matters would have been more interesting over your choice of ink color. You took a big skip over all of that "because it would take some time", but that technique was the point of the video.
I appreciate the link to the printable paper site -- I've wanted a more customizable printable site for some time and hadn't been able to locate one!

I enjoyed your video, but hope you don't mind if I make a comment. So much time was spent on introducing the the paper, the stamps, the ink, but I was really interested in "watching" you stamp the card. As someone mentioned above, seeing you actually "creating the subway art piece" is is much more interesting than spending time introducing paper and ink. Since all the information is listed below the video, I would have loved to watch you work. Thanks so much for sharing - you have a lovely voice and such a calming effect.
