love the video! so funny bc I was just thinking of mixing my older stash with some of new paper I recently gotten. I was thinking along that line but wasn't going with that instinct. After seeing your video, I'm off to work on this over the weekend. Thanks for awesome job you're doing.
Love this video! I'm thinking maybe you should be making up some "kits" for 2Peas to sell. Maybe with some clearance stuff mixed with newer stuff? I just liked the "kits" you pulled together from different lines. Well done!

Video - Glitter Girl Adventure 015: Old+New to the Rescue by shimelle posted 04/11/12 Galleries: Scrapbooking This week Glitter Girl faces the challenge of bringing new life to older scrapbooking products - something currently being discussed here [twopeasinabucket.com] on the message board. Her adventure takes her through the creation of several page kits by finding current complements to discontinued designs and the creation of a page from start to finish using several simple techniques to mix and match the new and the old. A few favourite combinations include: Love, Elsie + either Amy Tangerine collection, Bella Blvd (especially the b-sides), camera prints like the Echo Park viewmaster and vintage cameras, lettering and some embellishments from Jillibean Soup and Crate Paper. Narratives + the new Heidi Swapp papers, Jenni Bowlin Studio, Echo Park, Lily Bee and letter stickers from Bella Blvd. Scenic Route + October Afternoon (or if you want less vintage, more clean brights, opt for Bella Blvd or Jillibean b-sides), Crate Paper. And not pictured here, but the new Studio Calico lines work very well with many of the older Sassafras collections. A few more layouts and videos for your inspiration, mixing old and new supplies: sa&z [twopeasinabucket.com] bus stop birthday portraits [twopeasinabucket.com] sensory lab [shimelle.com] that side street [shimelle.com] (plus be sure to check out the original message board thread with examples posted by more scrappers in the two peas community!) Come along for the adventure, won't you? For a closer look at the design concept of a loose line of embellishments, you might be interested in the first lesson in the 4x6 Photo Love series: This week, Glitter Girl challenges you to mix your older supplies with something more current, then share the results in the gallery! What combinations of old and love speak to you? You can use any brand of papers, of course. Don't forget to tick the box for the Glitter Girl challenge in step four of the uploading process. Join us every Wednesday for the Adventures of Glitter Girl, helping the world one crafting dilemma at a time. Each week Glitter Girl joins Two Peas via video to solve a problem posted on the message boards. Don't miss out as she shares project tutorials, product comparisons and technique tips throughout the year. |
