Video - Memory Keeping Monday: "Nerd Day" (School) by JenGallacher posted 08/20/12 Galleries: Scrapbooking I thought it would be fun to combine our monthly “school” theme with the use of envelopes/pockets. Something about school makes me think of office supplies. Frankly, when my kids are grown I don't think I'll stop buying office supplies. I'm slightly addicted. For this page, I cut several file folders from the 6X6 paper pad using my Silhouette die cut machine. I layered them on top of one another at the bottom of the page. I also added several layers of pockets and items around the page. I tried to select items that had a school/office supply feel. I changed the photos to black and white because I think it makes them pop a little bit more against the patterns I selected for my papers. You can watch the helpful video to see this layout created from start-to-finish. Challenge: Use a pocket or envelope on your next layout. It can be a school layout or any theme you choose. Try adding additional journaling or photos inside the pocket or attach the pocket on your page in a unique way. |
