Still one of my favorites. Love this line of papers and they compliment your photos so well! Love the cluster in the center.
Really enjoyed this video, love the brad cluster and never would have thought of altering ones I wouldn't use with enamel dots - great tip!
Loved this challenge so much, Laura! Thank you. I had fun finding new ways to use my old brads. :)
I really liked the ideas you shared. I will be incorporating the embellishment circle full of brads on a future page. What a great way to create visual texture and use what you already have on hand!
Thanks! I really enjoyed the ideas for using brads. I also really like your fingernail polish.
Wow - love your video!! Your process flows so nicely. You really should do a weekly video :) Love your layout. So many cute ideas.

Video - Scrap Your Stash: Brother by Justlulu posted 01/03/13 Galleries: Scrapbooking Hey Peas! Welcome to the first video in the weekly series “Scrap Your Stash”:) Today I am going to be focusing on making a dent in my stash of brads. I have a huge tub of them, and I just don't pull them out often enough. I'm making an effort to change that as truly they are such a versatile little embellishment. In my video I use them as an “o” in my title, to dress up some patterned paper, as the middles to some buttons, and show you a fun way to alter it when the image just doesn't suit your needs. The main focus of my page is an embellishment cluster where I mixed up all sorts of brads and buttons with brads in colours that coordinate with the papers I used. Speaking of the papers, I just love this collection called Family Ties by Pebbles. It is darling, and the Phrase card that I used for my subtitle is perfection. I highly suggest grabbing one for your scrapbooking and project life needs :) I've included a picture of the products I pulled to create my layout. You'll notice as I create that I add and eliminate things till I get it right. I can't pre plan too much, I just have to go with the flow. Back to brads, I thought I'd list a few more ways to incorporate brads on your scrapbook pages: *Use them to attach photos and embellishments without glue *Dress up the centre of a flower with a few brads *Use them on the tops of tags *Wrap twine around them and create lacing *Dress them up with a rub-on, jewels, or even change their color with heat embossing powder *Use brads as bullet point for your journaling *Use them to create a shape on your page like a heart or a star I hope you feel inspired to dig into your brads, or if you have never tried them before now is a great time with so many manufacturers making fun options. I'll link up the ones I used and more below. Lastly I want to issue a challenge for you to create a project and simply have fun some brads, try something new, or alter a brad you aren't currently in love with. You'll want to click on the challenge box when you upload it because at the end of the month we will draw a winner from all the participates for this month and pick a winner for a $10 gift certificate :) Yay! |
