Hi Peas! I want to invest in some new boarder punches and would love to hear about your favorites. My storage space is limited, so I want to make sure it's something I will love and use. Only looking for border punch that edges the side of a sheet of paper, not the kind that creates a decorative strip.

I own the small scallop, notebook, postage stamp, large circles (ek success).

Thanks!

I actually don't use many border punches, but there are a lot of peas who LOVE them!!! Pennyscraps comes to mind ....

The one border punch I use is the small scallop with the holes in the bumps. No idea what it's called, but it's been my "go to" border punch quite often.

Besides my regular scallop border, I also use my Martha Stewart double scallop punch quite a bit.

I have a lot of border punches but those are the ones I use over and over.

Gosh I {heart} border punches, especially the slim lines.

Hands down the number one punch I use the most is the Stampin Up Scallop Edge border punch (I believe Fiskars makes one as well)

Also use frequently
Arrow from EK Success
Open Scallop from EK Success
Dotted Scallop from Ek Success
Binder Edge from Stampin Up (EK Success also makes one)
Beaded Arcs from Martha Stewart

For Holiday ones I like
EK Success Spider Web
Marth Stewart Drippy Goo

I have many more but these are the ones I use routinely

I don't remember the brand, but it's some sort of dotted scallop. I scrapbook my son, so that's as fancy as I'd go. The majority of border punches are on the girlish side.

My most fave edger punch was the Apron Lace punch by Fiskars (scalloped edge and the 'holes' in the scallops were semi circles as opposed to complete circles.

However, the whole metal part snapped in two and when I emailed Fiskars (with a photo of the evidence) I was told it was because I had been punching Bazzill and the punches weren't guaranteed for that grade of cardstock so .... tough luck.

I would really love this punch again but I don't feel I can on the basis that I want to punch through Bazzill so what's the point of buying another punch for it to break.

I have refused to buy any more Fiskars punches for the same reason

Other than that I really like my notebook paper edger punch from Stampin' Up and I think it's called the hearts doilly punch (or heart lace punch) from Martha Stewart.

NO WAY!!! I had no idea we weren't supposed to use them on cardstock, that's all I ever use it on. Boo Fiskars.

Are other punches guaranteed with cardstock?

I only have a few but I use my dotted scallop border punch the most. It goes with just about anything.

I all my Martha Stewart punches. The ones I used most are the large and small scallop border punches. I also have several punch around the page MS punches and my favorite is the shell and the antique lace.

I so want the Fiskars interchangable punches, but they are not available in my area yet and most of the on-line sellers are sold out. I would prefer to buy in M's or HL, so I can use a coupon instead of buying on-line anyway.

From EK Success I love:
Bumpy Road
Swiss Cheese
Paw Print

I love my border punches, I use them on almost every layout.

You might want to ask the question again, but be specific and say punch around the page set. You're mostly getting just straight border punch suggestions, which it sounds like you don't want.

Personally I have punch around the page sets but never tend to reach for them, I need to change that. One of my more recent purchases that's really pretty is the Martha Stewart Cherish set, it's versatile. You also might want to hold out for some of the We R Memory Keepers new Lucky 8 punches, they would probably be right up your alley! And since it's one piece there's less to store.

Thanks everyone, this is exactly what I'm looking for.

Tashak, actually I don't want punch around the page sets. What I don't want are the punches that end up separating a strip from the rest of the page. I'm not making much sense am I?

I have two scallop border punches. I find I use the larger one a lot.

I get what you mean, OP. Some cut out a strip, others make a border on the larger paper. You want true borders.

The one I use most surprises me -- the Martha Stewart zig zag. It's so old, it's in green rather than white. The scallops are nice, but lately I've scrapped a lot of boy pages, and that geometric shape seems to add a lot of energy to the overall feel.

Yeah you said edges a whole sheet and not just creates a strip. With new information I can definitely make some suggestions, I love my border punches.

Fiskars:
Scalloped Sentiment
Postage Stamp
Threading Water
Apron Lace
Upper Crest

EK Success:
Binding Edge
Bracket Edge
Large Circle Edger
Double Embossed Dotted Lace Edger
Dotted Wave Edger
Scalloped Scallop Edger

I'm starting to think I have a scallop problem. I swear they all give different looks.

If people would read the packaging, I believe (at least the Fiskars ones, and that's what we're talking about anyway) says 65lb weight is recommended. So yeah, while it punches through some cardstock (even heavier than that), it's not meant for heavy duty punching. Particularly very heavy/thick cardstock.

I use punches on almost every layout. By far, the most used border punches for me are the Scallop ones, with and without the holes, and the Fiskars Bracket punch below.

My go to border punches are MS Doily Lace, Arch Lattice, and Swirling Lace... They all have so much detail, they add soo much to a page... Also a good one to have is a plain ol scalloped edge... also very fun
