You know the ones.... 12x12 diecut sheets of repeating shapes i.e. stars, apples, frills. I have a 3 inch stack that I just love to look at and I keep downloading them from the silhouette store, but I don't have any idea on how to incorporate them into my pages. I don't want to cut them, but then I don't really want to use the full sheet. What are some creative ways of including these on layouts?

Thanks for all your help!

Oh, good question! My husband bought me the Paper Lace cart for Cricut and I haven't used it yet because I just don't know how! I also downloaded stuff on the Silhouette.

I would like some ideas on this also. I have a few paper backgrounds, and like the op, I keep buying them from the silhouette store, but I never use them because I'm not sure what to do with them. Glitter Girl, help us all out, please!!

Not Glitter Girl, but I did use one and I have it in my gallery

Edited: this one took awhile to layer, because of the little banners, but if the shapes are basic it would go quicker!

Also, if your pattern paper background is too busy, just cut out the shape in cardstock and layer over it....it will tone it down, but you still get the effect! This is an example of just a plain repeat layered over

Don't be afraid to cut them up! But if you really don't want to, they make great backgrounds, too. The see-through aspect of the designs are neat. Since they are pretty eye-catching in and of themselves, I keep the rest of the design pretty simple. If it's "too much", you can use a good-sized piece of cardstock on it.
