Why would someone think that a 2yo kid could sit still for that long - even with breaks in between? Heck, I don't even think I could get my 11yo to sit still for that long.

I was confused at first too, thinking you were talking about a marathon race.
How irritating that someone would bring a small child to those movies..unless maybe parents are switching duty and needed to meet there? Hope the little guy isn't having to actually stay there the whole time.
I won't be able to see Breaking Dawn P2 until after Thanksgiving...will you message me what the surprise ending is? I'm dying to know what it is and will be trying to find spoilers on the internet

If the baby wasn't bothering anyone, who cares. He's running in the hallways? So?
I'd be upset if he was ruining the movies, but I hardly think that content would be damaging to a toddler so as long as he wasn't causing a ruckus I wouldn't care. |

Do *you* run willy, nilly through the lobby of a movie theater? If not, why should your child.
And that's a perfect reason why he shouldn't be there. Because the theater is intended for people who can sit in their seats and pay attention...not for kids to run wild. That's what a park is for. |

^^^^^ +1 from me.
And I initially thought the OP meant that someone gave birth at a Marathon gas station, and couldn't figure out why that was such an asshole-ish thing to do, lol!! (but that's because I just heard a news story about someone who couldn't make it to the hospital in time, gave birth at a Shell station, and used 'Shell' as the baby's middle name... )

Were we at the same theater? lol A mom came in ours with two under 5's and a 9 year old. The youngest was a noisy eater (nursing) and the usher asked the mom to leave the theater. Obviously, he should have been more clear on who had to leave because she took the youngest out and left the other two kids. |

Ugh. That is such a huge pet peeve of mine. Seriously is it THAT hard to get a babysitter OR if you can't afford one, wait until it comes out in Redbox? When we saw The Dark Knight a few years ago there were tons of little kids in theater and I was mortified that they were watching that movie AND that they were taking away from my experience as well. And FWIW, I'm a mom with 4 young kids and I would never subject other movie goers to their typical kid behavior in a movie that is in no way geared to young kids.

I haven't been paying close attention because the series didn't do much for me, but wasn't the latest Twilight movie initially rated R because you can only kill vampires by ripping their heads off? So they got it down to PG-13 by taking out some of the crunching/ripping sounds?
