Don't know what this post is really about except to say a Thank you to all you "virtual" friends!! Friday evening, we very unexpectedly lost one of our co-workers. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer about 4 months ago and had received her last treatment a week ago. Friday, she was taken to ER with seemingly unrelated issues to the cancer. Family was called in and the staff of our church was called. She was our financial secretary so we all were there. I was also in training with her so that she could go ahead and retire and enjoy life.

After the most shocking news was delivered to us Friday evening I just couldn't think straight. Yesterday morning after I realized I will be learning by fire at this point it all just hit me. I waited until notifications were emailed to our Sunday School class and choir in which she was a member. I did a little blip on FB on the loss of a friend and co-worker. I had several Pea friends jump on and give condolences but no family did.

This thread is just a little reminder to us all, that in times of need, no matter what has gone on on the boards, hugs are given. From people we don't really even know in real life, but know all about their lives from this little section of the 'net. Happy to have you all around!

Awwww... so sorry for your loss.

The peas can really be wonderful though. I think of everyone as moms and sisters who will "tell it like it is" and give you the tough advice when you need it.

I'm sorry for your loss..

I'm grateful for the peas too, you can almost always find at least one person who "gets" what you are saying.

Lynn has really helped me help my BF who suddenly lost her DH and has helped so many times that I am sure she doesn't even know she has. Thanks hun.

Everyone argues and fusses but when you fall there are so many hands willing to help you up. This is truly a great place.

Even with the snark, trolls and spelling police you are a great group of ladies!

((Hugs)) I'm so sorry for your loss. My memories comfort you.

Sometimes people just doesn't realize how much the loss of someone who is a part of your life, even if they aren't family or an especially close friend, can hit you. I know that I've been surprised at how hard some deaths have hit me that I wouldn't have thought would. An example would be my insurance agent. He was a really nice guy, I knew him for years. He always had a kind word to say, always asked about our family and shared about his. Walked us through many insurance questions over the years. Not a "personal" friend, but I still think of him often over a year since he's gone. He is truly missed.

I don't know how close you were to your friend, but it sounds like she will be truly missed. Praying for you and for everyone whose life she touched.

I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. I totally agree with you about this place. To me, THAT is one of the best benefits of being a Pea. The care and concern are amazing. On top of that, you have the most knowledgable Peas who answer you within seconds. It outweighs the mean idiots who sometime pop on here. Big hugs to you!

Pea support is great! We're like a family here- we may fuss and get mad with each other, but when one of our own needs some TLC, we're there.

Soo sorry for your loss

I found out a week ago how truly amazing and thoughtful the peas could be when a bunch pitched in and raised $400 in less than 12 hours to help out a foster pup I have.

Some peas have their moments, but overall this is a wonderful, caring, thoughtful group of ladies.

I me some peas.

I'm so sorry about your friend and co-worker.

I also wanted to second your comment about the support here. Last year when I was at a complete crossroads in my life and relationship, I posted here and received amazing support, both on the thread and by peamail. I am never likely to meet any of these wonderful people, but they took the time to write some quite lengthy replies to me, and it really helped me to sort my mess out and move on, feeling as thiugh I had a hug and an arm around me at the same time.

God bless the peas!

I am so sorry for your loss - cancer sucks and I am so sorry it claimed another victim in your friend and coworker.

Yes I agree wholeheartedly - the Peas here have been more comforting in my time of need as well - Facebook really opened up my eyes to, as they say, who your real friends are in time of need -
