I was looking at the new store products a saw the Micro alphas from BG and got exited. Immediately after i got a mental picture of me screaming at them trying to place them in my layout with tweezers. But my idiotic self keeps buying mini alphas cuz let's face it...they are awesome!
So what scrappy products makes you say I'm sorry to your family? |

My letter stamps, because they're all acrylic, all have a few that will not stick to the block worth anything and impossible to get straight! |

I'm with you - those mini alphas! I did the "trick" of lining them up on release paper first to get them straight & I placed them too far down on the paper, so I couldn't get them off!
I am all thumbs & sometimes when I am so frustrated putting them on a LO, trying to get them straight, blood pressure rising, I wonder why...
they do look nice though. |

Add me to the ATG test your patience club. I stopped using the gun and now just use the tape. I am much happier. That gun has it in for me, I swear. I know how to use it but the ATG has other ideas. Stubborn teenager syndrome. Now, I know what I put my parents through, lol.
Distress Ink- Causes me to be distressed.
Silhouette Cameo- I know, I know, I wrote something bad, lol. I know die cutter's. I just don't like the Cameo. I never had so much trouble with a Graphtec cutter in my life. I have used several over the years. That Cameo is not for me. Anybody reading this that has a Cameo under their tree don't be scared off. I am advanced at die cutting I am over complicating the Cameo and what I expect of it. It's a decent cutter. I am just not personally happy with it.
Paper trimmers test my patience. I like my X-acto knife.

Ooh, if they do I usually end up just not using them. Hmm...
Flock. Blurgh.
Chipboard, specifically covering it in pp. I just did this the other day and have put off the rest of the layout because of it.
Metallic (ETA: sorry not metallic, GLITTER emb pwdr) and distress embossing powders. I prefer to heat emboss almost everything I stamp for pure color, and these two never look right to me.

The Crop A Dile for setting eyelets. I have not used eyelets in years, but man, that thing was vexing. Now for punching holes, LOVE IT! But oy on the eyelet setting!

I have found a trick to using any small sticker or jewel (with adhesive) that works for me.
I use a corsage pin (about 2in.) to help me move them around and 'see' what the heck I am doing. Just put the pin point somewhere under the thing you are working with. It will hold on but won't use up your 'sticky" and when you are ready to 'stick' it just slide the pin out of the way.
Does that make sense? I know what I am trying to explain but sometimes the words just don't seem to make it clear |

Fun question Nikomoon! For those smaller letter stickers, I use my exacto knife to place them. And I don't worry too much about them being straight. I've sort of adapted to slightly askew or just plain crooked lettering is more interesting.
One thing that I don't use very often is Stickles. They never seem to come out of the bottle the way I want and take forever to dry.
And I agree VexedAngel, covering chipboard with pp is a big ol' pain. I usually just paint it. Maria

I have to agree on the ATG. The tape comes off all the time & then 1/2 way through the roll, it starts breaking. Every single time I keep thinking the next time will be perfect & end up using the tape without the gun so that it doesn't go to waste.

I have one inexpensive (ok cheap) set of clear alpha stamps and they always stick to each other. So I get one lined up but then the next one sticks to it and when i move one the other ends up crooked. Grrrr!
I am also one of those people who can't seem to tie a bow to save my life.
Just a note - if you use Ranger Enamel Accents, don't try to heat set it. Ask me how I know (poor little stamped girl with exploded eyeballs). That was only frustrating once!

LOL!!! Oh no, sounds like the way I find out what you can and can't do with a heat gun.
The Goosebumps texture spray for me. Did not get what the big deal was at all, until I looked it up online and found out that you're supposed to hold it way back for texture, otherwise it just ends up being a big wet glossy area on your page. It still doesn't do much for me, and I usually love texture and techniques. |

Mini alphas are the 1st thing to come to mind. The exacto sure helps but getting those little devils straight is another story. Next is alpha stamps--I don't like to use them at all.
Metallic (ETA: sorry not metallic, GLITTER emb pwdr) and distress embossing powders. I prefer to heat emboss almost everything I stamp for pure color, and these two never look right to me.
I won't buy distress embossing powder for that same reason. But for glitter EB I use the same color ink as the glitter and it works really well. When using distress inks to emboss, first ink up the stamp with Versamark then ink it with distress ink.

I hate to say this because I'm probably one of the only ones, but it would be my Cameo. I get it, but I can't seem to get the designs I want to cut very well. When I do, I have a difficult time getting them off the mat and I know my mat is not that sticky anymore because other things come off just fine (larger designs). I think my problem is I like too many intricate things.

Hear, hear! Even with the special mat I broke all the spokes off that sucker the first time I used it. I love the idea, but it will barely cut print paper in my experience. I'm all about affordable products, but the cutting wheels obviously need to be made of metal.

My ATG tape gun used to make me crazy. Then I dropped it. Like "accidentally" from a church balcony. Really, it was an accident, but I had so many refills for it that I bought a new pink one because there was no way I was throwing away a whole box of refill tape. I cannot say a single bad thing about the new pink gun. It is easy to load and it works without me wanting to throw open the windows and shout at people.
Now it's those itty bitty letters. I put together a layout, and lost a letter, and was nearly in tears, then I found it on the dog. yeah. I pulled it off, said I was sorry and took him to bed. |

My worst product to use are those daggone mini alpha's. I love them on everyone's layouts, but I can't get them to look cute or line up on mine.
And....I say they're the worst only because I have NEVER been able to work the eyelet part of my Crop A Dile big bite. So, it's just a very expensive hole punch for me. |
