And you thought they were spendy before!!
Kind of fun, but no way would I spend that much on a paint job. I have the cobalt blue and while I'd like an orange one or pink one, it's not that big a deal to me..just a small splash of color in my kitchen.
What do you think, would you buy one of these Kitchenaid mixers? |

Wow!! Those are intense.
Airbrushing isn't my cup of tea, but they're pretty impressive.
If I was going to spend big money, I'd get mine bejeweled. Like a ton of rhinestones -- pink rhinestones. Maybe like an ombre type pattern? From dark pink at the top to pale pink at the bottom? Or pink flames in rhinestones. I'd pay for that.

Yeah, not happening here. I have seen other KA artists that do similar if not better work, but under $500. But, even then...that's more than I want to spend. My KA lives in an appliance cubby, so no one even sees it. |

I did and that is how I got past a plain no. I know $1900.00 is pocket change to many people but to me that is a major purchase. If I bought an almost $2000 mixer my DH would probably take me to the hospital to see if I suffered a head injury.

Nicole Dinardo does far better with tons of creativity.
Karin, why don't you paint yours? Mine was white when I got it 14 years ago. About 3 years ago, I decided I wanted it black (to look nice with the black flecks in my granite). I ended up painting it matte black (fewer finger prints than glossy black) and it is beautiful 3 years later! It cost about $9.00. |

She does an awesome job... I believe she was painting for KitchenAid and something happened... cause she changed the way she sold them. I think you could buy the KitchenAid from her and have it painted. Now she doesn't sell them. But still paints them. I have seen how much work it goes into designing the picture...it's expensive but it is 'her' art. My favorite of hers by far is the Pioneer Woman design.
I just ogle from afar.
Now for the guy at KitchenAid painting them.. I don't really like. |

Someone else mentioned that and the fact that it would be hard to clean. Considering I never bake it would never get used so that wouldn't be an issue! |

No, because those mixers last half an eternity, and none of those designs are something I would want to have in my kitchen that long.
Actually, I doubt there is any design that they could put on on mixer that I would be willing to commit to for as long as the mixer would last.

My favorite one was Nicole Dinardo's polka dot design, which was one of her least expensive designs. $350....
I don't do a lot of heavy mixing, so my cheapy hand mixer works great for me. I may upgrade sometime to a nicer hand mixer. I had a Kitchenaid and never used it, so I sold it. |

No. However that is so far out of my budget it's not funny. If I were really rich and really loved one, maybe? I don't know, that's a lot of money and I can't imagine having that much money to spend on something so unnecessary.
I *really* love this color so much more than any of those. But I have a perfectly good KA mixer in forest green, circa late 90's. Spending money on a new one just for a color that makes me happy isn't possible. I'll just dream lol.

Cough cough cough... Fortunately, I'm very happy with my Grape Purple KitchenAid with it's little sister pink handheld KitchenAir mixer.
But if it ever croaks, I wonder if I could switch "bodies"! If not, then I'll paint it either the grape purple or another color.
I do have vinyl AND plenty of dies so I guess I COULD decorate my grape KA if I want to! |

Whoa!!! Some steep prices there! I was super excited to find a brand new one on Craigslist for super cheap! It had never been used before & came with all attachments & box. It had been taken out of the box & displayed in a model home. Not super crazy about the color - it's emerald green. But I don't leave it out on my counter so it's not that big of a deal. I've thought about getting vinyl decals for it. But no biggie if I don't find any!
