We are just marching right along through December! Yesterday turned out to end up very lovely. My teenage sons met DH and I at The Cheesecake Factory at 8:30 for a very late dinner. I think we got our food right before 9 - and didn't leave there until 9:48. This gal was tired last night. Anywho, THAT was my picture for 12/5 - all of us in the booth with a beautifully lit tree out the window beside us. Oh, yeah - I staged that photo totally when I requested THAT particular booth.
I do the surprises of December. You just never really KNOW what the day will bring and WHAT your picture will end up being...So, yesterday was a great day and I don't even pretend to know what today holds. Maybe some of that elusive list-making. Or card ordering. Or goodie baking.
I AM excited that we are getting near the weekend - I feel like I can unwind and catch up some. Or at least be in my home, awake, for more than a 20 minute interval.
What do you have going on? Amy Grant is crooning now, "Christmas can't be very far away" - and she is right! Hope your day is full of music or laughter or good food, or all of the above.
That's QUEEN Paper Peep to you!

I mean how many days can I journal about what movie we watched?! Our movie night is our excitement most weeks. Our week days are filled w school, homework, dinner, bath time then bed time. That's it. So far I've done a movie night, fav Christmas music, decorating the outside of our house, the kids writing their Christmas list, shopping for decorations. I only have a few more ideas! then

DS and I were home sick the last two days so I guess I'll do a page about the Christmas movies I watched and the Christmas music I listened to.
This is my first year doing a DD - not a very exciting start...
|Posted: 12/6/2012 9:28:29 AM|I'm including in mine, my favorites: Christmas movie, song, memories. Got an idea from Ali Edwards about writing a letter to Santa. I'm going to do that later.
So today I'm going for unique things. My babies (rats) are going to write Santa a letter about what they want for Christmas. Read on someone's blog that they write a letter to Santa from their dogs point of view. Hehe.

|Posted: 12/6/2012 11:29:49 AM|Well. My DD is not yet fully assembled, but I am taking photos and jotting down some notes.
We got our tree last week. Somebody (it was me ) forgot to water it the other day, so it may or may not make it.
I hope "the year Mom ruined Christmas" will bring some smiles when we flip through the book in a few years.

Yesterday I hit a wall and didn't do my page. I do have a picture of the cat under the Christmas tree that I think I'll use. Not a great photo but it will do. She was "helping" me decorate. It is her first Christmas with us so I'm a little cautious. She is very curious.
Today is going to be a really boring day. I have no idea what I'm going to do. Dd has to go to the doctor to have her ankle looked at so who knows!

For those of you struggling you gotta bring a little jolly into your life!! only you can make it happen a few ideas:
Make red and Green mashed potatoes!! get festive
Replace your regular paper plates with some Santa ones
Add a bow to the dog
Paint your toes RED
Put Candy canes next to the coffee pot
Turn off the tv and turn on the holiday music and play a card game
If you have kids string popcorn for outdoor decoration and bird food
Cut snowflakes and paint them with glitter

Penny, sounds like you got a great picture at Cheesecake Factory. Love those on the spur of the moment pictures.
I am going to try to get a picture of our new dog with a Christmas hat on-not sure how it will work. We have only had him 3 weeks so he might not cooperate.

DD POTD was the two new glass snowmen ornaments I got at Hobby Lobby. I lined up all my snowmen ornaments for a background and featured the two new ornaments in the front of the shot.
Thanks for the thread.

I approach December Daily as NOT all about Christmas. On December 1st, I scrapped my son doing chores and my daughter holding a stuffed animal with the Christmas tree in the background. That's what we were doing, so I scrapped it.
Pinterest has some fun ideas. One night, I plan to give the kids water bottles with their dinners with google eyes, a red pompom nose, and brown pipe-cleaner antlers. We might use Christmas napkins.
Another night, I plan to read them How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and we'll drink sprite/lime sherbet floats with green sugar around the rim of the glass. Or maybe we'll just use green straws.
Little, cheap things that are quick and easy but make December fun.
Tonight I got a photo of my son petting the cat and letting her sniff a candy cane!

For Day 6 we didn't do anything holiday related so, I added a 4 photo grid of some of my Christmas decorations and journaled about how I decorate in tight living quarters.
Today we're taking our boys to see Santa and it's my birthday so, plenty of material to choose from!
|Posted: 12/7/2012 7:41:54 AM|Butterfly247- thanks for the list.
So my day 6 ended up with a simple page. I set the timer on my camera on the kitchen counter while my son and I made Rice Krispie treats. So I got a cool shot of our hands holding a sprinkle bottle together. A little journaling and I was done.
