Update: Thank you all so much for your kind words, good thoughts and prayers. It is really nice to be able to come here and kind of unload. I have been determined not to let this disease rob me of my happiness. I allowed myself a few tears when I received the news and now it is time to do what needs to be done.
I am also going to check out all the links posted for the beauty subscriptions and pick one.
Yesterday I found out that after almost 6 months of chemo and a really painful lung surgery, I have three more f@ck*$%& tumors that have developed in my left lung. I will be starting a new chemo as soon as the oncologist has insurance approval.
I just checked my emails and I found my Birchbox invite. I need some retail therapy and ten bucks a month won't break the bank. If you subscribe, do you enjoy your boxes or do you feel it isn't worth the money? |

I don't have a subscription, but I know some people really like them and that some don't. Sample size beauty products are always nice! I think the convenience of it coming to your house is a plus!

Beth Anne, You don't look like you need a beauty subscription. However, if it is something that will make you happy, you should get it. My lil'sis just had round two of six for ovarian cancer. I stayed with her for the first round and told her she needed a mantra. I suggested....Die Cancer, DIE, DIE!! Feel free to use that. Stupid cancer. |

I love Birchbox and I loved EcoEmi, too! I think I preferred EcoEmi, but was getting burnt out on things that felt repetitive after a while. The same may happen with Birchbox, but for now, it is feeling fresh! |

As far as Birchbox, it's fun and inexpensive - $10 a month flat (no extra shipping. I received it for 6 months and was able to try some products I wouldn't have otherwise and some fun colors. The boxes vary in product type each month and by your profile you fill out. I wouldn't say it's incredible but is a fun, inexpensive treat to look forward to each month.I say do it and see how you like it | |

I am so sorry that you got bad news. I think you're right about some retail therapy being needed! I used to get Birchbox. The first 3 boxes were great, then it got weird. One month I got stuff that only a drag queen could love (giant fake tatoo eyebrows and other lovelies). I have heard that it is back to being good. I got to try many new things and found some new products I love, so I am going to give it a thumbs up! |
