Packing away Christmas decorations today. I'll leave out my light up houses and some snowmen until around the end of January.

We celebrate New Year's even more, so we're leaving everything until then.

Up until Jan. 6,(the Epiphany) We don't really celebrate Epiphany but that is the end of the holiday season for us. I'll leave up some of the more generic winter themed decorations up through Feb.

Hey! Where's my theme music?!?

I'll probably begin taking mine down on Monday. I left yesterday to come to my parents house and won't be back to my house until Sunday, and working Sunday night. Monday is my day off, so I'll probably work on them while I have free time. I'll be glad to have the space back.

Can't take them down during the 12 days of Christmas. I owe tradition that much respect

I will leave them up until the Epiphany/Little Christmas/... and then I will turn the lights off and begin to take them down over the ensuing days.

I always leave them up until 12th night and usually cry to take them down! The place feels so boring after they all come down, and once again out real tree is really beautiful. It is holding it's needles well and the longer I keep it, the less of a waste of it's life it feels!

I take down all of the inside Christmas decorations the day after. I put them up the day after Thanksgiving so I am pretty tired of them and I crave the normalcy back.

We leave up the outdoor lights through New Year's.

I like to leave mine up until Epiphany.

ITA, we do the same although I need to get the Christmas wrapping stuff out of DD's bedroom and we need to set up a room for DGD as well.

Two bedrooms that were made into guest rooms were also the off-season storage for some Christmas things. Have to re evaluate what I'm doing and reconfigure storage.

Another reason to keep things up, I have no where to put them!

Before I had kids I would always take everything down on Dec. 26th.

Then my first baby was born on Dec. 26th.

So, now I leave things up longer bc I'm not going to spend my son's bday doing chores.

I am itching to take things down today, but with Christmas and birthday toy craziness combined, my house looks like Legoland after a daycare field trip.

I'll let the littles have the run of the house today and play with all their new toys. Tomorrow toys get put away and Saturday while they are out of the house with grandparents the christmas stuff comes down.

I can't wait for the house to be back to normal.

Outdoor decorations come down on New Year's, but indoor decorations stay up a little longer so I can enjoy them 'till 12th night before packing them away.

Started putting this away today the bulk of decorations, and the tree will be away about Monday or Tuesday.

My kids love the decorations throughout their Christmas vacation, so we leave it up until they go back to school.

I didn't realize until yesterday, that my dh likes the deco to be left up longer too. I was mumbleing that I would like to take some of it down & he freaked out that he likes to look at it. I was shocked, because out of the last 20 years of me putting it all up by myself, he has never said that. But I was happy that he appreciates it.

I would like to have everything down and put away around New Year's Day. Most years, my goal is the Saturday before Superbowl. LOL

Last year, however, I took it down right at Valentines day!

Im ready to have my living room back so I think this year I will do a little better. LOL

My birthday is January 13 and I usually leave my tree up until then. I call them birthday lights!

This year I am feeling more like I want it down though, partly due to a much smaller living room in this house. We will see!

We have two trees up - a large one and a small one - and they are both coming down today.

The nativities will stay up until after the Baptism of Our Lord, but the trees I'm done with.

Epiphany here too. It's so peaceful to enjoy the Christmas tree in the evening without the hoolabaloo of gifts, stress, prepping, etc.

Every last decoration came down yesterday and was back in the attic as soon as DH got home.

It all went up the day after Thanksgiving (which was early this year), so I was done and ready to be back to normal.

I always take them down on Christmas Eve. For me, when Christmas is over, it's over. I need to reclaim my house.

This year, however, we had family stay here over Christmas, so I didn't take them down until last night.

I'm not one of those people who takes down the decorations the day after Christmas. I don't really get that. I think the Christmas holiday lasts through New Years. I love my decorations so I will leave everything up until next week sometime and maybe even the week following. The kids don't go back to school until the 7th so I'll have them out from under my feet and can get a lot of work done while they are at school.

Never mind, I forgot what I was going to say.

I'll take them down on New Year's day. We were late in decorating this year - I didn't get a tree until Christmas eve so we'll have it up for one week then I'll take it down.

I'm taking most of the decorations down today, but not all. The tree and outdoor lights will stay up until New Years. I go back to work on the 2nd, so want everything done by then.

I'm not one of those people who takes down the decorations the day after Christmas. I don't really get that. I think the Christmas holiday lasts through New Years.

Not that I think everybody needs to "get" what other people do, but by way of explanation, my husband and I are back at work, and our Christmas holiday is indeed over.

We're not attached to having the tree up - I haven't even plugged it in since we got home Wednesday afternoon from our Christmas travels. We really enjoyed putting it up, it's been pretty to see it in the window, but I have a huge project at work this month and I'm gearing myself up for that. I have one day off next week.

I'm glad that other people are still enjoying their trees and stuff and want to leave it all up for a while, I just need to be ready to hit the ground running NOW and getting stuff back to normal is part of that.

I decided to leave them up one more day and take a picture of them in the window this evening, and tomorrow it's all done, bye-bye, see you next year.

Except for those nativities. Because for us, that's the part we're still observing.

They come down when the mood strikes me. I've been toying with the idea of taking the tree down today. I bet it comes down this weekend. I don't have a set day, just whenever I feel like it
