So I am sure this has probably been asked before but I can't find it. I have gone crazy downloading freebie cards for project life as I am starting it in January for the first time. How are you all printing these? Just on your home printer? On plain white cardstock paper? Just trying to figure out the way to make these all look the best and be of good quality. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I use matte photo paper, for the most part.

I use a cardstock that I can buy in bulk at Walmart. It's a nice weight, smooth and takes the color well. It's a Georgia-Pacific brand I believe. I just ran out so would recognize it when I see it at the store. I print exclusively at home so look for inexpensive yet nice alternatives.

Just so you know, cardstock absorbs a lot of ink and you may find yourself going through it more quickly than you would like.

I use HP brochure paper - presentation paper is a bit less expensive and works too. Now, these are not as heavy as CS but since they are going into pockets it seems to work for me. You can also write on it!

I use one of these three:

Red River Polar Matte (if I will be journaling on it)
Red River Linen (if it is a filler card with no journaling)
Epson Premium matte Presentation Paper

I really like the Staples brand Photo Supreme Matte paper! It's double sided, so you print either side and it has a nice weight like cardstock (but doesn't soak up the ink like cardstock does). It's $14.99 for 50 sheets, but often goes on sale for less!

Thanks for the Staples photo paper tip. I might have to check that out too! Can you write on it?

I use Recollections white cardstock that I get at M's or HL. I've tried using matte photo paper or other kinds and find that the quality is not that much different.

I'm another one for plain cardstock from Walmart. If it's something I want a little texture with though I use linen paper.

I really like the orange peel cardstock (I just print on the smooth side), but I have used Recollection's CS.

Just to throw it out there... Mercy Tiara did a video about sending her free printables out to get printed:

Youtube: Mercy Tiara - Staples Copy and Printe Centre

I think I would go with that option, if I were doing it.

I went to my local Staples and asked for the papers used in the video to test them out... I liked the heaviest weight one the best - looks and feels like I bought the printables

you can write on the Staples paper - it's actually a really nice writing surface I use my AC Slick Writers so there's no issue with smearing!

I use cardstock from Wal-Mart that is designed to work in home printers. I think the quality is great for what I want.

Thanks for posting the staples printing video! I haven't been happy with my printer and the amount of ink that I was using. I think that will be a great option!
