My DH for Christmas bought me the Mariposa palette by Urban Decay (gorgeous eyeshadows) and the smokey 24/7 eyeliner set. I have NEVER spent that much on make-up, but I LOVE it!!! Now, I want to take some of my Christmas $$ and go to Sephora and stock up and some other goodies!! I love how it stays on so long, and the colors are very vibrant. I do wear make-up pretty much everyday. concealer, powder, eyeliner, eyeshadow and mascara...sometimes a bronzer or blush.
What are your favorite brands from there?? |

DiorShow mascara, Nars orgasm blush, Dior lipstick. They also are one of the few places to carry my new favorite perfume called Marchesa. |

Book a makeup lesson and they will steer you towards the products that look good on you.
My new (to me) favorite line is Fresh. I bought the eye cream and going back for their soy moisturizer.
I also picked up Marchesa perfume -- so so lovely.
Cheers.

Urban Decay makes a great product called Primer Potion. It is a great base layer to help your eyeshadow stay put. I can sweat off all my make up at work but have perfect eye make up at the end of the night.
I also enjoy Benefit - They're Real (mascara) The Pore-fessional (Primer/pore minimizer), You Rebel (tinted moisturizer).
I would say browse Sephora.com - you'll find a lot of companies have great little 'try it' kits or smaller packages so you can try a little bit of a few items rather then spend your money on one full size item.

Another vote for the Urban Decay primer potion. I love that stuff. My eyeshadow stays on all day and never creases. It looks as good when I take it off at night as when I put it on in the morning.
If you love the Urban Decay Mariposa eye shadows, you might also love either the Urban Decay Naked or Naked Two eyeshadow palettes. They are really pretty nuetrals that you can wear every day or for dress up. I have both and don't use much of anything else. |

I love Urban Decay, but I love, love, love Too Faced. The colors are great. Staying power is great. Each set comes with little cards showing you different looks.
I bought myself a huge Tarte set for Christmas. I like it so far. Nice colors.
I ventured into the Lorac Pro palette. Beautiful colors but I found it hard to get the hang of the texture of their shadows. I can use it now but at first it ended up all over my face!
Love the UD primer the best of all I've tried.
Like the Fresh Sugar line for sheer touch of color on the lips. I also switched all my facial care to Fresh and have been very pleased.
I spend far too much money at Sepora.

I am LOVING Too Faced Sexpot lipgloss as well as Too Faced Lip Insurance.
I've been very happy with NARS Orgasm and bronze duo BUT if you want to saves one of that Christmas money for other fun stuff you can go to CVS and get a "dupe" of Orgasm. It's Milano Baked Blush in Luminoso.
With the money you save on the blush you could buy the Bumble and Bumble Gentle shampoo and conditioner.

I love so many brands at Sephora.
UD for eye makeup
Laura Mercier and Make-Up forever for foundation
Nars and Tarte- for blushes
I prefer MAC for my powder and lipsticks. I also use some drugstore makeup also
I also love the Sephora by OPI nail polish.
I get some products by Soap and Glory from Sephora.
I don't have a Sephora where I live, so I shop more at Ulta. |

I love both Urban Decay Naked palettes and the primer potion. I like Benefit's Coralista blush, Lorac's Private Affair palette, and the Too Faced Smokey Eye palette.
I just started using Benefit's Pore-fessional, and it's okay. I liked Philosophy's The Present a little bit better. The Pore-fessional is really smooth/powdery feeling once on. I probably wouldn't buy it again. I've been wanting to try Smashbox's PhotoFinish primer, so maybe I'll give that one a shot when I run out of the Benefit stuff.
I can seriously do a LOT of damage at Sephora. Make sure you sign up for their Beauty Club card. You get little perks/kits at different point levels.

I'm a fan of Tarte. Their Amazonian Clay products are fantastic.
I also love Benefit. | |

Thanks for your replies ladies. My dh is doing pretty well. January 7 th will be his last round of chemo, then radiation starts. He will have 4-5 weeks if radiation. The tumor is shrinking as we hoped, but not completely gone yet. Oncologist is fairly confident radiation will take care of what's left....we keep praying |

Haven't read replies above me yet.
If you want an eyeshadow primer, Urban Decay's is great. (Get the original, and try to get it in a squeeze tube. I don't like the ones with the wand.)
Fresh's sugar lip balm is FANTASTIC. I like the original (clear) best. Tastes like lemon sugar.
Just got benefit lip gloss in Dandelion. Beauteous.
Shisedo's facial cotton is AWESOME if you use toner.

I love UD's eyeshadow primer. I also like my Naked 2 palette.
Stila is another brand that I like. I really like the colors in their In The Garden palette. The texture of their shadows is similar to that of UD but creamier.
Hourglass makes a really good waterproof primer. The sample size is $20.
I also love Fresh. They have a new color called Nude and it is very light and complimentary to my fair skin. All of the glosses have SPF 15 in them.
I also second the idea of joining the beauty insiders club and sign up your DH too. He might like the mens' gift. |

The Laura Mercier Illuminating Tinted moisturizer.
Best thing ever.
Also love Benefit.
Eta: also love Hope In a Jar moisturizer. All these things I've been using for years and love them. |

I love Sephora's house brand liquid eyeliner more than any other I've used (the last ones I bought before S's were Smashbox and MAC gel liner). Even though it's a liquid liner, it goes on easily - the brush works really well with the product.
When I want even more control putting it on, I use my own eyeliner brush and brush it against the Sephora brush (does that make sense?)

I agree with the value kits Sephora has. They have kits with smaller sizes of a particular item from different brands (mascaras, blush/bronzer, etc) By far, the best bang for your buck especially if you are wanting to try lots of new things. I hate paying $30 for a ton of one single product when I really just want to try it out.

Mascara-Dior, the primer makes your lashes actually grow longer
Bronzer-Tarte
Blush-Nars Orgasm
Concealer-Bobbi Brown creamy concealer kit
Lips-Tarte Lipsurgence lip tint
A good set of brushes is a great investment. A Kabuki brush makes your foundation flawless.

I love Sephora. I stock up whenever we visit the US. I wish we had it here.
I love:
Smashbox photo finish primer - such a good product
Laura Mercier loose powder
Clinique Pink Bamboo lipstick
OPI Tickle My France-y, or the nailpolish with Berlin in the name
And love the freebies. | |
