Another thread asked how often you and your DH/DSO go out with other couples. How about how often do you go out with a friend without your DH/DSO? And where do you go?
I love catching up with friends without our partners around. Much more fun to gossip without the men! I try to catch up with a few different friends at night at least once every month or 2. We usually go out to dinner. Movies are no good with girlfriends because it cuts down on valuable talking time LOL! Sometimes I will catch up with them during the day with the kids as well, if our kids are the same age and can go off and play on their own.
I find my private time with my friends to be much more important than catching up with other couples. | |

We try to go out every other Monday for Margaritas and dinner. All of our kids are out of high school so it a lot easier to get together. We are an exciting bunch, we usually meet at 5:30 and we are home by 8:00.  |

Most friends, we see each other alone occasionally. Sometimes, I'll go out with the couple (without DH), or he'll go without me.
One girlfriend and I have a standing date once every couple of months to go out to brunch together. We get dressed up, go to Anthony's (on the water) and sit amongst the blue-hairs feeling very fancy.

I get together with a group of girls once a month after work. We all used to work together, but have all moved on to different things. I tell my husband it's a "meeting" but I am usually home in time to pick my boys up from daycare, which closes at 6:30.

I used to go out with my best friend every week, but that has been slowly dwindling away on my part- we moved further away and with school/work/family, there is little time. Now it is more 1 x a month or two. We email and text.
I go out with the guys from school every other week or so for drinks as well. | |

Almost every time I go out it is without my DH. I don't think we have any friends that are couples anymore. |

Once a year, if that. My dd's and I used to go out with my mom weekly. She has ALS, so we can't do that anymore. It's to hard for us to get her in and out of a vehicle and she's not very stable or comfortable in a wheel chair for long periods of time.
I guess I have always chosen to spend my spare time with family over friends. |

I go out with my best friends from hs every few months and sometimes I get together with the moms from my son's elementary school. Again...every few months. We usually go out at 5:00 and get home around 10:30. | |

I guess I have always chosen to spend my spare time with family over friends.
When I go out with my girlfriends it is usually at 7pm which is half an hour before my son's bedtime. I don't feel the slightest bit guilty about spending half a waking hour away from my child once or twice a month. (Not sure why I am sounding so defensive LOL, because I know you're not being judgemental!)
Friends almost as important to me (in regards to my social life and relaxation) as my family. | |

2-4 times a month depending on the month. Things like bunco, craft night, recipe group. Not like bars or parties. |

Far more often than I go out with my DH actually DH works from home so we are together A LOT.
I go scrapbooking once a month from 8 am to midnight once a month with my scrapping pals. I go to lunch with girlfriends about once a week or every two weeks. I take my mom and DDs for shopping/lunch about once a month. I'm not totally antisocial, I just don't want to go bar hopping with the same two couples. | |

Dinner & drinks with friends, once or twice a month...sometimes for lunch, sometimes on a Friday night. Not anytime recently though, as we just finished moving & I am really in need of getting out of the house for some girl-talk!

About twice a month. We have a regular bunco night and then another group of girls who meet seperatley.
DH is the most supportive person. He never even thinks of asking what's going on or why I might want to go out without him. |

I run a ladies meetup.com group so I go out without dh at least four times per month ... we do Movie Night (followed by dinner at a restaurant), Splurge Club, various Coffee Breaks ... keeps me sane

A group of us use to get together about once a month. We'd meet at a friend's at 6 and I'd get home about 3 am or so. It has dropped back to every 2-3 months.
I go out with my friend at least once a month or so. DH loves it because he (my friend) goes to the stuff DH doesn't want to go to. Sometimes my friend and I go to a movie or out to dinner or something. Sometimes DH comes too. |

Every week. My 2 best girlfriends and I get together once a week to scrap for the day and go out to lunch. Even if we don't scrap, we do lunch.
I can't honestly remember the last time we went out with other non-family couples, but when we did, I know it was also with my girlfriends and their dhs.  |

I feel like I meet friends nearly every day. I rarely eat alone and I work late above a popular bar and nice restaurant. For lunch and dinner I tend to schedule meetings or ask a friend to join me, and I always see someone I know around the office!
My husband is a homebody--he rarely goes out but I sort of see it as part of my job. I'm not a "go-all-out" person, I'm not talking about drinking or "girl's night" or something, just meeting friends for lunch or coffee, catching up, or maybe grabbing a glass of wine while I'm at work. |

Once a week or so. Might be just lunch but I get to have fairly frequent " girl time". My youngest is 11 now so it is easier to find the time than it was when he was younger. |

at least im not the only one then... i cant remember a time when ive gone out on my own (or with dh for that matter).. in the past i wasnt allowed and now i dont have friends.
dh goes out every evening of the week, so i stay home with the kids..
just to clarify though they are MY kids, not his (although he adopted the 2 younger ones) so its not like he is lumping me with our kids and off out but i guess that also is a factor why i would not go out and leave him to look after them. |

I don't get to see my friends much, only when I'm over in the UK. Then we'll meet for coffee or shopping. They're the kind of friends who I can not see for ages and it's like we've never been apart when we get together.
