Oh I could be a frozen pea - no problem -- well, til I have to have me some retail scrappin therapy! Luckily, I really don't shop a lot, but when I do, I tend to spend a hefty amount.

I would not even attempt to kid myself!

The only way I could be a frozen pea, would be to turn off all visual technology. Except for the tv - no problem with that one.

I have been for two years. It's not to hard because you set a budget for yourself and your needs, not what other people are doing.

I enjoy my scrapping so much more now. I am much more picky about what I spend my money on so I use the stuff I buy.

I didn't need a budget, I wanted one. I had so much stuff I honestly didn't know what I had. Now I love what I have and enjoy using it!

From time to time I freeze myself. The way I usually do it is setting a page number that has to be completed before allowing myself any shopping. For example, only glue and photos (I do not print at home) until 50 pages are completed. Currently I am trying to reach 200 pages, but I can already tell I am not going to reach that amount. This may take me a year and I just love to purchase new thing.

I could never be a completely frozen pea. I would have to chose to be frozen for only one type of stuff. Like I will not buy any paper, or no tools, or no embellishments or....

nevermind.

Me neither!

I do have a budget which I (kind of) stick to and I limit myself to ordering online once a month unless there is some emergency (out of adhesive, new MME collection arrives, big sale etc) but I could never go completely frozen for any length of time

I try, but am not very successful. When I visit the LSS twice a month to teach classes, it's hard not to look at the new stuff. I also enjoy the search of a great deal or fantastic paper too much! I still figure that the retail therapy is still a good deal in comparison to traditional therapy. I get to visit my purchases for an additional good feeling and then when I scrap with them it's therapy all over again. Right now I need to freeze though so I can afford a dslr camera since my point and shoot is taking nothing but fuzzy pictures.

I have to remind myself of this when I see that lots of people are buying a certain item....do I really want/need it, or just feel like I have to have it because everyone else does...

I try to be frozen... but it just never works.

I start watching the videos here on 2Peas and see these garden girls using these great products and I have to have it.

I need to freeze myself, but when the new CHA stuff hits the store.. it's all over.

I've tried, been there done that. Sometimes you just need a scrappy fix! Now what I'd do is go on etsy and just order one or two little things I want when I'd not have funds for a big haul. It takes care of my fix and I get to wait for something fun to arrive in the mail.

I have an allowance every month and it ALL goes to scrappy things. I've been thinking of only making a $50 budget every month until I complete so many projects/layouts. I have so much that I don't seem to have time to use. I'm suppose to have all next weekend as scrappy time, so I'll hold off decisions until after.

I suppose I COULD...but I'd have to give up 2peas, and all scrap-related blogs, pinterest, and online videos/classes. And then I would lose motivation to scrap, so what would be the point??

I am trying to stick to a budget this year though.

I have tried before too. But I am going to at least wait a little while before buying the newest stuff so that I don't end up with duplicates in my SC kits.

Ditto! Especially not with all these new collections and goodies coming out! & to think I though I would try lol guess that's what I get for being a newbie to the CHA event and not knowing that every brand I love release tons of new things that I just MUST have lol...

Trying to freeze only seems to bring on shopping binges here! I'm focusing on doing more challenges instead. Think positive! Use it so you can shop!

What she said!!

Although I think I may be spending less this year. I've finally figured out that I don't have to have what all the cool kids have to enjoy my LOs. Maybe I'm finally finding my style after almost a decade.

if I make my wishlist after CHA, and don't buy anything except what's on the list, does that make me frozen?

The only time I was a frozen pea was when I took a 2 year hiatus. When I came back it took all of about 2 weeks before I was back to buying new things.

From a frozen pea - for the poster who asked - a frozen pea is on a spending freeze, be it in total or just being allowed to buy the basics.

I'm a frozen pea out of necessity at the moment. I do have a groaning wishlist and can't wait till later this year when I can push 'buy'. BUT I have also realised that by putting things in my wishlist for a while (months now) my desire to have it decreases. I think I'll only end up finally buying a fraction of my wishlist. And some will be out of stock, decreasing the purchse even more, lol.

I do have a decent stash, so I'm not dying yet though some colours of cardstock are getting low. It is forcing me to get creative with what I do have, which is a good thing.

Exactly!! So I never say I am frozen, just picky. I don't jump on every release and every pretty collection. Instead I think long and hard about what I want and if I will be able to use it. Just because I love a line, doesn't mean I can scrap with it (I'm talking to you Amy T's Sketchbook!!) so even though I love Amy's Yes, Please! I know I'll struggle with it so I won't get it. Which leaves me to spend more on DL's Lucky Charm which I know I can use every bit of!
