I was just wondering...for those of you doing Project Life...are you printing photos at home? Or do you have them printed? I'm not sure which I should do so I thought I'd ask some of you who have been doing PL for awhile.
Thanks for the tips! |

I print at home. I have no where local to pick up photos and would be to far behind if I could not do it weekly. |

It's usually easier to print the daily pics at home (if you are doing the daily photo approach that is). |

I would say it really depends on your lifestyle and schedule. If you're able to drive by your photo place on a weekly basis (ie, it's on the way home from work), then that's really the easiest way. I don't have that luxury, so I print at home most of the time. If someplace like Costco offered free overnight shipping tho, I'd be all over that!

I think that MOST people have found that printing at home with a dedicated photo printer (Epson Picturemate Charm and the Canon Selphy are the two popular ones) is the way to go.
For me, if I had to wait to get pictures printed, order them, go pick them up, then come home and put them in PL ... then I'd never do PL. There'd be NO way.
I haaaaaate ordering photos online. In fact, I just did it yesterday because I had a coupon code for Walgreens, and the planets aligned to where I had to go to Walgreens anyway to get a bunch of stuff, so I made myself sit down and put 33 photos onto an album online there, and then I ordered them. I had 29 4x6s and 4 5x7s, and I got them all for $9. Otherwise, I'd have NEVER done it. I went to Walgreens, did my shopping, and my photos were ready by the time I checked out.
Also, with one of the dedicated at-home printers, it's super easy to print photos at the "wallet" size (the small size for PL). As far as I know, you can't just order prints that size online -- you have to put them onto a 4x6 canvas. That'd be a pain.
You can search for threads on which photo printer to get -- some like the Selphy because it prints wirelessly from the iPhone, others like the Charm. I have the Charm, and I love it. I'm used to it, because I had one years ago (the first model they came out with). But I wish I had a Selphy for the iPhone printing, too! (I'm bad ...)

I have a Selphy that my dh gave me for Christmas. I am doing PL this year and I am able to keep current because I print at home. I tried to do 365 in 2009 and didn't even make it through the first week because I didn't print from home. |

I don't print at home. I don't have a Selphy so I don't know what the prints are like, but I don't like the quality of prints made at home with my cheapo printer.
I do a photo a day generally, but I only print when I'm at a shopping centre with a photo place. Probably every 2-3 weeks. I just jot down in my planner what I took that day. Sometimes I do the journaling in advance, but not usually. I would never do the project if I were sitting down at the computer to download, print, and then journal every day. I like to take an hour every few weeks to do it - feels like I've accomplished something.

I print a majority of my photos at Costco or Sam's Club. I print them every Saturday. I often put pictures in the journaling pocket so I use Picasa photo collage tool to make 2 vertical photos per 1 4x6. When I get my photos home, the binder comes out and the photos go in. I will cut the small photos later if I don't have time but at least most of them are in.

I am printing at home this year. 3/4 of 2012, I printed at Costco which is much more cost effective, but more time consuming and less convenient for me.

I am printing at home this year. I need to finish my PL weekly layout each week or I fall behind and I'm unlikely to finish later (this is based on my experience last year). I use an old HP printer for this. It prints nice pictures and the ink is fairly inexpensive. Plus I usually just print 7 or 8 pictures a week. I need 7 4x6 pictures to do the PL spread.

I do not print at home. We don't have a good photo printer, and it seems like it's more cost effective to order 4x6 prints from a developer rather than pay for a printer and then ink/paper.
I haven't really found a developer that I love though. My local Walgreen's prints have decreased in quality over the past few months, and while I love the quality of Snapfish, my last few batches have been crooked (not true 90 degree corners on the paper).
I need to try Costco again - I just found their online uploading to be tedious. |

I print at home. I had a Selphy I used last year but sold it recently and got an Epson Charm. I print all of my 4 x 6 and smaller on the Charm and the rest on my Epson Artisan wide format printer. The print quality is excellent. I could never do mail order and the other cheap places, Costco, Walgreens, etc. are not conveniently located near me. |

I use Walmart.com. Their prices for one hour photo are reasonable. You can also have them sent to your home (which is awesome if your Walmart is as crazy as mine).

I still print at Costco. Unfortunately, it isn't in the most convenient location for me, but they are the best quality and price locally. I will plan out my pages and order pics. Then, I proceed with filling out my title and journaling cards. I just leave spaces to slip in my pics when I pick them up.

I always put multiple photos in a collage, either with my phone app or in Picasa on my computer and then order 4x6 through Costco. It's cheap and I get the small size that's perfect for PL.
Sometimes I will print at home if I need a photos right then and can't wait the 1 hour.

I'm doing a combination of both - home and on-line printing.
I am trying to get caught up on a couple years worth of pictures where I didn't print out much of anything. So all of that, plus my weekly PL photos, will be printed at Sams (yes Sams- my Sams has the best photo printing I've ever seen!). I plan on printing weekly and picking things up on Friday afternoons.
When I actually start to do a PL week, I sometimes change my mind and want smaller pictures than what I had printed, so those will be printed at home. That's just easier and quicker and I get that "immediate gratification" thing going.

I like the convenience of printing @ home. I like editing and seeing the final result immediately, sometimes I need to do adjustments to pics that didn't turn out right, if I had to redo it and wait for it in another batch I would fall way behind.

Thanks so much for the feedback! I really appreciate it!

I print smaller sizes on my selphy. For example if I want to print a collage or 6 on one photo sheet I use my selphy. If its a larger size I pick it up from walgreens since my selphy can only print up to a certain size. So I use a combination of printing methods. |

I used to print all my photos at home, now I use Snapfish. Of course I am playing catch up and when Snapfish has 99 photos for $.99 I ended up getting 250 photos printed. When I just have a few picutes I print at home, usually because they are not a standard size. And I know I am different, but I edit my photos then put them in Word to print. I have my pictures on one page (or more if needed) and my journaling on the next page and print it all at one time. I can crop and size anyway I want with Word and it is the program I am most familiar with since I use it all the time at work.Works for me. |

I just started using my new Selphy CP900 and really like it. For me, it is easier to print at home. I just started Project Life and it is easier to catch up that way. I always hated uploading photos to sites but still do on occasion (or go to Costco). Probably more expensive to print at home but I'm paying for the convenience. |

I print at Sams Club using Matte Finish and they are $.13 cents a print. Can't go wrong with that. Cheaper then me printing at home.
I send them to have printed when ever I head to Sams Club which is weekely sometime bi-weekly.
I just sent some this past weekend printing 2 photos on a 4x6 as I wanted to see how they came out before I sent a bunch. They came out awesome, so hopefully this week I will be able to sit down and send some more.
