I've been itching to scrap SO BAD lately. But by the time I get home from work, make dinner, pack lunches, check homework, run kids to activities, do the dishes, give baths, drop off/pick up dry cleaning, do laundry, pick up the house, etc, etc, etc I'm dead beat and all I want to do is sit in my recliner.
I'd really love to book a 3 day crop/retreat but I don't see that happening any time soon. |

Creative Engineer, it is almost as if I wrote your post! Those were my exact sentiments about my household too! That is why I need to work part time or not at all to scrapbook. However, my husband doesn't buy that line, so here I sit! Ha Ha! I just went on a 3 day retreat for the first time in years and let me tell you it was wonderful. Thinking of going again in April then October. I think it's high time that we take a stand and do something for ourselves! WHO IS WITH ME!

Creative Engineer try www.scrappinretreat.com. They have retreats in Williamsburg, Fredericksburg and VA Beach. I just went to one in VA Beach through them. Like I said, I am planning my next escape to a retreat in April (Williamsburg).
So as I sit here at work, I am on Two Peas bookmarking pages to get me through my scrapbook withdrawl phase.

If I had any close scrapping buddies, I'd do that in a heartbeat. I can fit 8 comfortably with everyone having a 4' table, 10 if we want to be a bit friendly, but still not crowded. |

I totally have those days, so it's nice to know I'm not a nut! I used to work from home and could keep one on my desk and work on it a bit here and there throughout the day during breaks. I loved that.
But no more! In an office now and that just won't do! |

Oh geez.....
I am salaried, not hourly. I get twice as much work done as anyone else in the office. My boss routinely gets major kudos for the work I do. I work on my days off, when I am out sick, and just about anytime they need me if I can be reached by phone.
Trust me, my employer gets their money's worth from me. |

Oh, every day of my life!! And it doesn't help that my co-worker who sits literally 12 inches from me (we work a front desk), is also a scrapper/card maker and we've gone to crops together!! We both subscribe to different magazines so we can share! When we're not covered up with clients, we're here on 2Peas in the gallery or in the store or on another scrappy site that we found the night before.
THEN I leave work and life sets in - dinner, laundry, scoop the boxes, blah, blah, blah...add to that the crochet project I have going too. Sheesh...

OH, every day at my dayjob, I sit and daydream about what I want to scrap and craft when I get home. In my PJ's. PReferably drinking a cup of tea or a glass of red wine. Listening to my scrapbook playlist. Or a podcast. or have the Two Peas YouTube channel running in the background.
But when I get home from work I am exhausted and sad and not in the mood. It takes hours to decompress and relax, and then at around 10-11 in the evening I get my mojo back *L* But then it's a bit late to start something.
I try really hard to schedule in time for me and scrapbooking in the weekends, in my google calendar. It works half the time, but at least it's something =)

I feel like this loads, particularly if I'm having a quiet day - I think of all the things I could be doing. Also I spend time at lunch looking through blogs and the forums and it gets me all fired up to scrap which is great if I can go home and do it, but not if I know I won't be able to.
I use the time to build up my ideas and things I want to try so I'm ready to go for it when I get the chance instead of feeling unprepared.

Today is an unique today for me. I have a doctor's appt. at 9:30 this am and it takes me 40 minutes to get from the doctor's office back to work. If I can't make it back by 11 I have to take a whole day. (Probably won't make it by 11.) DH and DS already left for work and school. DD is sitting here with me as we eat our oatmeal in our pj's. Seriously considering doing some scrappy shopping and coming to scrap a few pages after I am finished my doctor's appt.
So to answer the OP's questions, yes, I do feel like it a lot. I enjoy my job, but who doesn't wish they were cozy at home doing their hobby on occasion? |

EVERY SINGLE DAY! Funny because I've been home sick yesterday and today and when that happens, I usually feel good enough for at least an hour to hit my scrap room. Yesterday I was so sick I couldn't even get out of bed... today I've managed to turn on my computer... but I think I'm almost out of gas and need to get back to bed. Bummer. I'm at home but too sick to scrap! I'd actually almost rather be at work... |

yup... by the time I get home from work, the mood will be gone. I just can't do stuff like that in the evening during the week; heck, we're usually in bed by 9 pm, sometimes 8:30. (it stinks having to get upreally early!)
This is us too! We're up at 5:30 M-F, we try to catch up on sleep on the weekends, but that doesn't always work.
