My DD who is 10 weeks pregnant just found out that she has some abnormal cervical cells and is having a biopsy scope on Feb. 11.
She could really use all the prayers and positive thoughts she could get. She has been through so much already.

And please tell her, if it helps calm her nerves, I have had the same thing a few times - once during a pregnancy and a couple times while not pregnant. Every time, it ended up being absolutely nothing.
I think sometimes the tests are so good at finding any tiny little abnormality that they scare pregnant women more than they should. There are so many things that end up being nothing at all and women (me included) worry about things we wouldn't have even known about 20 years ago. Two of mine had spots on their kidneys that we had to have ultrasounds over and over again for. I worried for months when they ended up being something that wasn't even detectable after week 28. The ultrasounds are so detailed now that they pick up things that weren't even a concern 20 years ago. |

Praying for her. I wAs diagnosed with stage 2 cervical cancer with baby number 2 when I was 4 months pregnant. I waited until after he was born for surgery. My son and I ate healthy. Abnormal cells don't automatically mean cancer btw - but they need to do the biopsy to see what's going. Chances are its just some abnormal cells, it's very common. I'm sure she will be fine - tell her not to worry, and it shouldn't have any affects on the baby. Prayers and hugs. |

My DD had abnormal cervical cells when she was pregnant,
They decided to wait and watch.
The plan was to test more after she gave birth.
After my DGD was born she was tested. The cells were back to normal.
ETA: this was a really big deal and the doctors were quite worried because DD is immuno compromised too and they were worried that things would progress quickly. They didn't though

Thanks everyone for your kind words. We are hoping its nothing. Someone mentioned it could be cells from her miscarriage she had in July (but that wasn't someone in the medical field so I am not sure about that since this is the same o . I am just trying to keep her from stressing too much, just when she is feeling comfortable something else seems to pop up |

I'm sorry. I hope it's nothing. I know how scary this can be. I had to have a biopsy of a lymph node while PG and that same PG tested positive for Fifth's disease, was hospitalized once while PG for three days with pneumonia and asthmatic bronchitis... and everything turned out ok.

Thanks everyone. She is feeling much better emotionally today. I thinks she is not feeling so much alone anymore. A great deal of people have commented that this has happened to them and this has given her a bit more comfort. We are still praying for the best. | |
