Do they ask you a lot of questions?
About products, or techniques, or WHY you did something the way you did?
Do they read the journalling?

Of all my friends and family I am the only scrapbooker so people ask questions more about where I get the stuff from because they've never seen anything like it before. |

Friends glance through and usually don't really read them, but might mention a particularly interesting layout/technique.
My own family reads them, but rarely comments on technique. They are all boys, so I'm cutting them some slack. |

LOL! NO ONE EVER comments on technique! Only family and some friends look at my albums and they just look to see if they are in them! Most say they are beautiful...but if they only knew! (sometimes I use old products and techniques!) |

Only my mom and boyfriend look at them. They both read the journaling and usually comment on design/techniques/color palettes they like. They don't usually ask many questions, though. |

I have an aunt who will ask question because she scraps. Everyone else makes lovely comments and complement on my layouts. |

I'm the only scrapper in my family too so no one ever comments on techniques or papers or anything.
The comments I get the most relate to the amount of time I put into each album. Cost is rarely mentioned as they have absolutely no clue. |

It irks me when people skim over journaling. Especially if they ask a question about the page that is covered in what I wrote!
Basically I think people look at my albums to see photos of themselves. They don't want to read. |

I really try to make my pictures the focus of my LO's and since all of my scrapbooks go to family members as gifts, They pour over them. I have several SIL's who attempt to scrap and so they will ask Q's or comment about 'How do you find the time" "you make beautiful albums". I have learned to only make mini albums and 12x12 albums for those who really appreciate them. ( I learned that the hard way! ) |

Hmmm...other people are supposed to look at my albums? Family sees most of my pages when they are complete and sitting on an easel I have near my scrap desk, but other than that, there is no one to question anything. |

I don't know any scrapbookers. Friends (the few who've looked through them) will casually look at the pages. Family reads them. I usually get a 'I remember that', rather than questions. The only structured comment I've ever received was from my mum who said that my daughter was going to really value these when she grew up. |

I don't have any scrapbooker friends or family. Truthfully, no one looks through my scrapbooks unless I put it in front of them. The most feedback I have ever received as far as the aesthetic or design of a page is "that's so pretty." otherwise, they're far more focused on the pictures.

I find most people just flip through them and don't really read them unless they are in the photos with me! I do often get asked how I did something, or what a product is though because it's so unfamiliar to them.

My family read and comment of Layout design. My Dh will comment on color usage because that's his area ( Printing Industry) and he gives excellent advice. |

I've only shown hubby and kids and they're not bothered about techniques or products or anything, but they gush over the photos!! hubby's standard line to each page is 'oh I'd forgotten that' 'oh yeah we did that, I remember now'! haha

They usually give me positive feedback, like it's neat that you put all those "little things" on your pages, or "What a great photo to have!"
One of my recent feedbacks was a little funny though. Every photo in the album was from 2012, and every page has journaling explaining what the photo is about. One page is of my nephew's son, born in February 2012. In December, I showed the album to DH's ex-wife. We're still friends with her and spent Christmas with her, but she's kind of out of the loop about what DH's family does here in California, as she lives in Ohio. So, we thought she would respond to that page by saying "Your nephew's wife had a baby! He looks a lot like his dad did when he was that age!" But no, because she did not read the journaling, she thought it actually was a picture of our nephew, and that this one photo had been taken in 1983 and was just stuck in there randomly with everything from 2012. |
