The Scotch quick dry is just ridiculously expensive. It's up to $7.49 for 4 oz bottle at Michaels.  Of course, I've always used coupons but that's still high.
I found Aleene's acid free glue in the adhesive aisle. Same size bottle, for $4.49 before coupon. I haven't tried it yet, as I just got it today and I still have some of my Scotch left, but I may have a new glue now. |

i was just thinking about this!! i got through tons of this glue and i usually buy it with a coupon but the price just keeps going up. the last time i completely ran out and i had to buy it with no coupon. ouch!
the reason i haven't gone over to another brank is i like the consistency of the glue and the fine tip on the bottle. some of aileenes glues are a little thick for my liking and those kinds of glues take forever to dry. i did find a bottle of tack-it-over-and-over laying around and i've been using that too. |

I won't be opening it for a bit because I still have some Scotch left. But I'm hoping it's not as thick as the regular tacky glue. And while I hope it dries fairly quick, it'd be nice if it didn't dry quite as fast as the Scotch. Sometimes that one is too quick! I suppose if it's as thick as the regular tacky I'll have to dot it on instead of making lines. |

Shoot! I didn't realize it had gotten that expensive.  The reason I use Scotch Quick dry was because it didn't warp my papers. You can use it to glue down a piece of pp to a chipboard album page and have not one single bubble in the paper.
Every other glue I tried were too wet perhaps - anyway the paper always warped. The quick dry holds so well, it feels like the paper is stuck onto the surface by a manufacturer.
I don't think it will be very easy to replace the Scotch Quick Dry stuff in my book. I'll be watching this thread with interest. | |

$7.49?? Crazy! I don't blame you for not buying it at that price. I've been getting mine at Kroger Marketplace for about $5, and stocked up when they went on clearance for half price. I'm guessing the clearance meant they won't be carrying it anymore, and I might have to find an alternative once my stash runs out, because I am definitely not willing to pay over $7 for it. |

I have also continued to use the Quick Dry for the same reason, when working on mini albums, I like the fact that it doesn't warp. However, I have noticed that it has begun to dry TOO quickly and won't adhere, resulting in me having to pull it up (too easily) and then reapply glue. I think it may be time to test out other brands? | |

I use the Best Glue Ever from ScraPerfect...it dries without wrinkling the paper and has no smell! LOL! BUT the best thing I love about it is you can make your own glue rounds. It dries clear and tacky

This might seem odd because it's not touted as a glue per se - but I LOVE Glossy Accents for a liquid glue. I saw Heidi Swapp using it many times and finally tried it and LOVE! It has about a 10 second drying time and it holds like concrete. I definitely recommend it now to anyone needing a strong liquid adhesive.  | |

I won't pay that much for glue either. I was only buying the Scotch with a coupon already but with the price going up and up it's time to look for a new one.
I was able to get the Aleene's for $2.69 with a 40% off coupon. |

So I spend over $1 for each sheet of PP. $.50 for each sheet of cardstock. $5 for a pack of embellishments. And a $5 bottle of glue that probably lasts 10 LOs is too exepensive? Color me confused. 
FWIW, I like the green bottle Tombo Mono Multi when I need liquid glue. |

That glue probably lasts me 75-100 layouts! I don't think it is too expensive in the long run... Cheaper than tape runners in my opinion. | |

Okay...so you all have got my attention now because I have always been a tape runner gal.
So for those of you that use liquid glue...is that all you will use on everything or do you use it only for certain things?
My biggest problem with my tape runner (use Tombo) is that after my layouts/projects have hung in my LSS for awhile it seems like pieces start falling off cause the tape just doesn't hold. I have resorted to using a lot of Inkssentials Wonder Tape on items I create for my LSS now so stuff stops falling off. But wondering if I should look into switch to a liquid glue.
Any points you all have for stopping this problem?

I use the Scotch glue a lot, but certainly not as my only adhesive. I pretty much do not care how expensive it gets--I buy a few when they are on sale at Joanns, and I doubt I've ever used over 5 bottles a year. It just works so well! And as a Minnesotan, I'm happy to support a local company (3M). I'll have to check the price next time I'm at A's or J's but I refuse to get my undies in a bundle about it. |

I work at a craft store and Glossy Accents are used as an adhesive for many projects, including paper crafts. I use it all the time on my cards and it dries very fast. Love this stuff! | |

To SSUTTLES--The falling-off problem always hapens to me with Tomo also, I only use it on cards that I don't expect to be long term "save" items. I have much better longevity with 3L/Scrapbook Adhesives products. Or for REALLY secure adhesion, I use my ATG, but not for little bits of stuff. |

I use it paper to paper (and the occasional fibers if needed). For ribbon I use glue dots/lines. I use photo tabs for my pictures.
I also have the xyron X if I want to use that for small bits or titles from time to time.

You have very different spending habits than I do. I don't spend that much for paper. It would be extremely rare. It's not a regular or even occasional habit. I wouldn't spend $5 on a package of embellishments, either. |

I use Beacon Zip Dry, and it's expensive (around $7.99). But I buy it with a coupon at HL or M's and one bottle lasts me a few months -- much longer than a tape runner refill that costs about the same amount.

I do NOT use it for my primary adhesive. For paper to paper or photos to paper, I always use a dry adhesive runner. I prefer Hermafix repositionable glue dots. | |

I love liquid glue, and it used to be all I used.
I recently became concerned over Aileen's Tacky Glue not being acid free. I don't normally worry about acid/lignin free products in my scrapbooks, but for some reason the idea of glue spots aging and showing yellow over time really bothers me. The thought of paper yellowing and aging doesn't bother me at all, though!
Anyway, I could not bring myself to buy the Acid Free Aileen's Tacky Glue because it was nearly 4x the price of regular Tacky Glue.
I hate spending my scrappy money on adhesive!!

I generally use the liquid adhesive for things that I want to stick - and on mini albums when it's hard to use my large tape runner. Now that I think about it, I have a good friend that uses Beacon fabri-tac for all her paper to paper, and heavy embellishments. She has reported great results with long term hold - she sells all her mini albums she makes and has yet to have a complaint.
And although the price of glue has increased, it does still last a long while, this is true. I appreciate putting it into perspective! | |

Anyway, I could not bring myself to buy the Acid Free Aileen's Tacky Glue because it was nearly 4x the price of regular Tacky Glue.
I wish I knew what other things (nsbr) I've used the regular tacky glue on so I could see what it has done over time. |

My go-to liquid adhesives are Scotch Quick Dry and Fabri Tac. I use Fabri Tac when I'm gluing ribbon or fabric to paper. I find that it works a lot like hot glue, but it's safe for my scrapbooks. I use the Quick Dry when I have something very small to adhere. Sometimes I'll squeeze a tiny dot under the corner of a piece of cardstock or a photo that is coming up. |

I use glossy accents a ton when I need to glue something and I also use the creative memories glue pens which I love . Otherwise it's just me and my ATG with some glue dots and foam dots and oh my goodness so many different adhesives when you type it out! |

I have trial sizes of some Aleene's glues that came in a multipack. I can't remember what I needed and what for, but hubby suggested I get the multi trial pack. I'll have to check into them for pages. |

another fan of glossy accents. It is going to be the same price, but that stuff is fantabulous. What is cool about it is that you can "turn" things into an epoxy look. I did digital valentine cards that had a tiny heart and I put some g/a on it to make it look more dimensional. I also like it for attaching tiny things to my layouts. It dries pretty darn quick and the hold is amazing. |

I love Beacon 3 in 1 Glue even better than scotch and I like scotch. but I can usually find a big bottle of 3 in 1 at joann's with a coupon for under $3. |

I was wondering how that will be since I've used the original tacky glue for other stuff for years. I won't know how I like it until I try it myself. I can always thin it out if necessary. |
