We MIGHT be fostering/adopting a puppy from a shelter this weekend. She was found wandering the streets in a town close to ours. She looks to be only about 8 weeks old. My husband saw her on facebook today and said he felt so bad for her.
Her little face behind that cage looks so scared and sad.
They can't let her go until Saturday in case there is an owner looking for her. Anyway, my dh called the shelter and they said she is so young and they worry about her staying healthy in the shelter.
I think we are crazy but then again we have been talking about adding another dog to our home.
Just in case, we have been trying to think of a name for her. She is a shephard mix so she will probably be big.
Every name I come up with is great for a boy but I got nothing for a girl!! | |

The furry love of my life is named Bella. She was named because the first thing we said when we all saw her was how beautiful she was and Bella is beautiful in Spanish and Italian  |

My sweet baby's name is Lorelei. My children named her for the girl on the tv show the Gilmore Girls. My vet has never had a pet in their practice with that name. She truly is one of a kind. | |

Currently we have Penny (pyranees mix), as a child I had Katie (poodle mix) Lilly (yorkie) and Maggie (black lab ).
I have tried unsuccessfully to get an old country music theme going for our pets' names, but DD and DH won't cooperate. I wanted Dolly or Patsy for Penny, but let DD pick.
ETA: My aunt has a collie mix that I suggested she name Zelda because she hag big pointy ears like the game character. I've always thought it was a cool dog name. |

She's gone now but when I adopted my beagle from the animal shelter, I named her Hope. She had been picked up as a stray. I was at a low point in my life and so was she. My first thought when I saw her was that we both could use some hope. The name stuck and it fit her perfectly. I don't know anything about her first 3 years but for the last 11 years of her life she was happy and loved. | |

We have an American Bulldog named Mina. It is German, and a derivative of the name Wilhelmina, which means "protector". The name meaning is one of the main reasons we chose her name, but I later found out that Mina by itself means "love", so we got 2 awesome meanings for the price of one.
Our little Papillon is named Taffy - for no particular reason. My kids just threw out names, and it seemed to fit her well. |

My dog is Chloe. My in-law's have Lucy and Sadie. Some of theirs that passed were Keisha, Ruby and Oscar (yes it was a female dog who they thought looked like Oscar the Grouch). My SIL has Swatch and Marble. She did have a Tioga who passed a few years ago. |

I have Sadie, Layla, Tali (tally) and Parker (after the character from "Leverage" ).
Other female pets I've had have been Minnie, Phoebe & Cleo.
Various friends have Sheeba, Malka, Charlene & Hilda.
My name is Molly, but I know a ton of dogs named Molly, too
I try to just pick a human name that fits the pet, lol. |

The female dog we have now is named Clair. She is a greyhound and it really suits her.
My last female dog was named Rahnee. She was a kelpie/Shepherd X. She looked just like a shepherd but was the red colour of a kelpie. | |
