Thought I would start at thread on "The Middle" since there are lots of fans on the Modern Family thread. We save every episode on our dvr and watch it all the time.

My oldest child (15) reminds me so much of Axl! She is his twin (his smart twin). The show from Wed. where he got jealous that Sue likes his friend reminds me of how my daughter gets so jealous when her 13 yr. old sister likes to hang out with 15 yr. olds best friends. She rants just like Axl!

We bought Season 2 on dvr but they haven't realeased season 3 yet. Does anyone know if they will release it? We are running out of room on our dvr!

We love that show... sometimes I look at DH when we are watching it and ask if he sent in something from our life. If we had 3 kids, I swear that would be our life!

I really like it to and wish they would release season three on DVD they released the first two the same time they released Modern Family just before the season started. I had planned on buying it this year and it still isn't available I am starting to think they may not release it and I hope that doesn't mean they won't renew it. It is one of the better shows out there.

Charlie McDermott is a local guy. His parents owned a chain of gyms then built a state of the art facility - very nice family.

Charlie is a year older than my son and they went to he same private school (which I did no know). In DS's senior year I was at he post office mailing his deposit for college and I was chatting with Ed the postal guy and a friendly older gentleman asked where DS went to high school - turns out it was Charlie's grandad.

He wrote and directed an independent film shot in the Philly area this summer, Eden Sher was in it too.

Also a big fan of The Middle!

Love the show! The character Frankie reminds me of my sister: she looks like her, acts like her, even dresses like her!

This is my favorite show! It is the only show where I actually laugh out loud. My grandkids love to watch me, watch the show.

I love all the charactors but especially Sue. You have to love her attitude.

We love to see what Sue is wearing in each episode. Axl is our favorite but Sue is a close 2nd. My 15 yr. old would love to date Axl!!

Wednesday is the only night of tv I watch.

This is one of the few shows that my dh watches, so we wait to watch it together. So funny!

All 3 of our boys have had a bit of Axl in them, especially our 3rd son.

We love Sue the most, even when we have to pause because we are so embarrassed for her. But *I* was the one that my dh was making fun of recently because on the day that Sue wore pajamas to school, they were pajamas that I happened to have on, too. (In my defense, the only reason I have a pair of one-piece footie pjs is because of a medical issue that makes it painful to wear pants.

I'm pretty much over Brick. He's not really so cute any more, not even quirky cute, and I'm kinda just tired of him.

I said on the other thread, my two older kids are the same age as Axle and Sue...so it's a big joke about son being like Axle and dd being like Sue... (not even close on the Sue part though).. but it is fun to see how they act cause it is like our home. I feel like Frankie most of the time.. I even have the same doggie jammie pants she has. And yeah a lot of time I slap down the fast food on the table and claim I cooked.

Don't forget about cute lil Brick... he is great...

I love, love, love the Middle. I am so grateful to them for enabling me to LOL over and again each week. The Middle is the only comedy I watch on TV. Suburgatory and Modern Family are just not my cup of tea. My disappointment is they never get any Emmy nods! I don't understand why. Frankie and Sue at least should get a nod. I hope they never go off the air, they always cheer my day!!! Dorothy

Love this show. I love the relationship of Frankie and Mike and the kids are great. Axl is just like my youngest and Brick has charactistics of both my kids. I love the little details like the oven being used to store quilts that pop up on various episodes, and the dishwasher procedure. Sue is great too, I loved the dance off episode a few weeks ago.

It is scary how much Axel, Sue, and Brick are like my two oldest kids. My ds can be such a smarta$$. My dd has Sue's personality mixed with Brick's love for books. That is actually one show I would like to own on DVD.

Love that show...being from Indianapolis, it is fun to have references to our fair city, in spite of the fact that there is no East Indy University haha. I even follow Patricia Heaton on Twitter...she is such a regular person, being a mom and community person, who happens to be an actress.

This show seems so real in that I think a lot of families struggle the way this TV family does. I mean do they have even 1 appliance that works? That's not being critical. I think it's realistic so viewers can relate. They struggle and yet every member of the family is loved and gets what they need. Overall they're making it through.

Unfortunately it's such a good show it probably won't last.

I love this show too and feel like it gets lost in the hullaballo of Modern Family (which I also love). I think average families are more likely to see themI selves in The Middle. I cannot tell you how many times my dh and I have looked at each other at the exact same time when something comes up on The Middle where we're both thinking "Yep, that's us." I loved the episode where they went on vacation and the neighbors who were getting the mail thought their house had been broken into because they left it in such chaos.

The characters are adorable and yes, Sue is a definite favorite. They are all great though. Every single one of them brings something special to that show.

This is the only modern sitcom we watch together as a whole family. Quite frankly it is one of the few that is appropriate but also actually funny. I love Axl best, only because he is not my son. Frankie drives me nuts.

We that show! Every week we ask "where is the bug hidden in our house?" as each week is eerily similar to our daily lives.

The character of Sue has to be modeled after my step daughter and the two boys have very similar characteristics to our own sons. There are many episodes where DH & I resemble Frankie and Mike almost to the letter (I hate to admit that, lol).

We love the show too. We don't always allow our dd's to watch Modern Family and never Suburgatory. This one we all look forward to. I agree it's much more realistic. I loved when Brooke Shield's guest stared!

Gratefulpea, thanks! I'm glad there are so many The Middle fans!

I didn't realize they used characters from other shows they were in (except Raymond and Marie).

Yes, so funny that our kids resemble the characters! None of my girls are at all like Sue, but they are all very much like Axl! We do notice that some of the shirts Sue has are ones youngest daughter wore in 1st-3rd grade. She gets a lot of her clothes at Target.

So glad to see people showing the Middle some love! I think it's a great show that's consistently hilarious and has a lot of heart.

One of my favorite episodes was the one where Brooke Shields played the trashy neighbor next store, and her kids were always stealing things. And I loved Aunt Edie, who smoked so much her dog had to have its own oxygen tank.

I love all three of the kids but I have a special place in my heart for Sue Heck. I wish I had been as true to myself as she is as a teenager! I didn't see anyone mention Reverend Tim Tom but I think he's a hoot when he shows up.

I agree. Something I liked about ELR and The Middle is they both treat religion and faith with dignity and respect, even when they are making you laugh. I think that is very much Patricia Heaton's influence.
Yes, definitely. I have read that she's kind of an outsider in Hollywood because of her views. But she has done pretty well for herself anyway.
