After two weeks, I was very glad for a new episode! Love, love this show!

SPOILERS!!!

!

!
!

!

!

!

!
I was glad to see a softer side to Juliette. Was sad he momma spiraled backwards, but she apologized for her party when she was little. That was sweet.

I liked when Rayna called out teddy on sleeping with Peggy. Especially when he said he would talk to their daughter about it and Rayna said, "damn right you will. And keep your girlfriend away form our daughters" go Rayna!!

I knew Gunnar's brother would end up dead, but I was expecting them to show more of what happened or for it to be an accident that Gunnar was involved in.

I knew that Gunnar and Scarlet would get together but the timing of their kiss was very creeping considering the news that he just gave her about his brother.

I thought after all of the Old Yeller references that it was cool that Juliette gave Deacon puppy. I like Juliette's assistant and how she said, Juliette said you would say that and said " Shut up and take the dog"

I did like that Teddy asked Cloeman to be the a deputy Mayor even though Raynas Dad told him to pick that other guy.

Oh, I don't like Avery and I thought it was funny that he couldn't get into the club. Haha!!

Great show!!! Can't wait til next week.

I agree that Scarlet and Gunner's behavior
was a bit odd but grief sometimes makes you do
weird things ~ I guess.

I loved the song Rayna sang to Deacon but darn
it looks like he's making a move on someone else
next week.

I wonder how long it takes someone to start the
rumor that the eldest daughter is Deacons.

And I love that Teddy went against Rayna's dad.

I agree about Avery ~ yuck!

I loved this week's episode! I agree, that was weird about Scarlette and Gunner. I wanted them to get together of course, but it was weird how it finally happened!

I am glad Juliette put her mom above the party, maybe she is growing up a bit?

And I love how Rayna told off Teddy! I also liked that her sister was being super supportive, her dad too! It's sad how the oldest daughter is shutting her out, but I understand.

I love this show!

I've seen a lot of shows where there is some horrible grief and then someone starts fooling around. I don't get it, myself. I don't think I could get in the mood but I guess it's a kind of letting go?

I totally agree about Scarlett and Gunner - I knew they would eventually get together but the timing was really off - "Oh your brother was just beaten to death and left in an ally - let's make love" - how strange!

I was glad that Juliette was a bit understanding of her mom instead of getting angry with her and throwing her out, like she would have done in the past - at least she is trying to work things out. I also thought it was sweet that she got a pup for Deacon.

I usually don't like Avery but was feeling kind of sorry for him when he was looking in the window and seeing what he gave up.

How cool that Teddy asked his opponent to be the dept. mayor!

I'd been waiting for Scarlett and Gunnar to hook up for a while, but that whole scene just felt awkward. Maybe there just isn't enough chemistry. I thought for sure he was going to get mad and say it was all her fault for taking his gun away.

The more and more I see Rayna's husband the more and more I dislike him. It seems like Rayna has tried to make the marriage a go for years, and his whole attitude has just been "well, I'm only second best, so why bother?" Jumping into bed with Peggy, and now he puts her on his staff. It just shows how selfish he's been all along. I don't know who she'll end up with. I don't think she'll go back to Deacon. Liam's hot, but not much else going on there. Maybe a new character???

I agree. I think he is a scumbag. She was busting her ass for years while he failed. I never see him saying he would like to downsize or have less. Just because she wasn't sure what she wanted after finding out about his big cover-up, he decides to give up and blame her. I can't stand the guy. Putting Peggy on his staff? And then he dares to takl to his FIL about ethics or whatever he was talking about. He's a big ol' hypocrite.

The grief thing with Gunner and Scarlett, I understand. I've sort of been there before. It's a weird thing. The only thing I'm wondering about is the aftermath....what happens now. It's one thing to come together in a raw, grieving time like that, but that doesn't mean things will be the same in the light of day.

I was also glad to see that Juliette chose to go home with her mom.

There are definitely some interesting and complicated characters on this show. I really love it and hope that it's not cancelled (as it is in dange of currently).

I have to say this is the first episode where I've liked Rayna's dad. He, and her sister, are being very supportive. I thought they would be pushing her to work things out with Teddy.

I knew that Gunnar and Scarlet would eventually get together. I can understand wanting to be comforted while grieving. Maybe even just to forget your loss for a small amount of time.

It seems like they are trying to make Juliette less 'bratty' and more likeable. I was glad that she left the party to help her mom too. It was very unlike her.

Hopefully this show wont get cancelled.

Personally, I think Scarlett comes off dumb as a box of rocks.

I'm wondering if that addiction coach and Juliette will hook up.

Hope this show is not cancelled because there is some amazing music in it each week.

Yes, I have a niece because of this. But I thought it was kind of awkward.

The puppy is adorable (I am a lab fan!), but who gives someone a puppy without checking; it's not like they are low-maintenance!

I thought the way Gunnar & Scarlette got together was weird/awkward too. I'm thinking Gunnar will soon blame Scarlette for his brother not having the gun & dying. They can't just let them be a couple without more drama. She'll probably end up back with Avery when it hits the fan. Avery has to come back into the "group" somehow.

The party for Deacon -- is Deacon supposed to be a recovering alcoholic? Just wondered because of the booze.

Do we know if Rayna & Deacon actually had an affair after she married Teddy? It seems like Teddy thinks she did, but do we know that?

Why do Hollywood writers think that the natural response to ANYTHING is to hook up?

See, I think the strength of this show is that the characters are NOT one dimensional.

Avery is not JUST an ass. He made some bad choices but seems to feel genuine regret.

Rayna isn't the saintly wife. One of her daughter's is Deacon's and she's never told Deacon. And I think she did make Teddy feel like a failure.

Teddy's not just the douche that had an affair. He's realized Rayna's dad's a bad guy and he made the right choice, knowing it would cause him trouble later.

Gunnar isn't just the good guy-he also has some culpability in his brother's fate.

Juliette isn't just a diva, she has real feelings and is trying to grow up into a good person.

Like real people, all of these characters have good and bad in them and they struggle to be the people they want to be.

Now, I will say Scarlette makes me nuts. Her mouth is too stiff. But when she starts singing I forgive her that because she sounds amazing.

Ever week I still can't believe I find myself watching this show - it's horrible...but I get sucked in, kinda like The Bachelor/ette shows!

I think Scarlette's character is awful, and I don't think she's good enough for Gunner! lol He deserves a good love written in for him.

I like Avery's character - I think that's probably the most "real" character on the show! And most like Nashville. Little guy with a big shot - he's got stars in his eyes and nothing is going to hold him back. Ditches his friends, follows the manager's instructions, right on the edge of "being someone"...and then he realizes, this isn't the music he wants to make, it isn't the people he wants to have in his life and regrets what he left on the wayside. It's coming full circle and I like where they're taking this character.

Isn't that when Deacon entered rehab ~ again ~ and
she felt she needed security.

Wait.....is Rayna's oldest daughter really Deacon's or are you guys just guessing that?

I do like the show and hope it doesn't get cancelled. I truly like all the characters in their own way. I really like the way Juliette is kind of coming into her own.

Rayna's oldest dd is Deacon's. There was an episode about her dad possibly using it against her. He was going to tell Teddy and she told him Teddy already knew that she was Deacon's. Her dd and Deacon do not know though.

I do remember that episode but I guess I totally missed the part about it being Deacon's daughter. Duh!

Wow...that is some crap for Rayna to keep it from Deacon.

I never get into shows and this one has me smitten! Can't wait for each episode. I sure hope it doesn't get canceled! I can't remember being this involved in a show since maybe 90210 and Melrose Place! LOL I don't really care for country music and I love the songs on this show because I "know" the people singing them.

Does anyone else think Deacon will be SO MAD when he finds out he is the father of Rayna's oldest?

I want Deacon & Rayna together. Maybe just because I am a sucker for most unrequieted love stories.... or maybe it's just Deacon's amazing eyes

Does anyone know the song that Juliette was singing sitting on the stool in her house? I loved it.

tvbythenumbers website gives Nashville a more than likely chance of being renewed. I love the music and the characters but I think the show writing could be improved a lot. It is just too predictable and cliche in many cases.

I was surprised when Gunner's brother was killed. I really thought they had come to arrest Gunner for aiding and abetting a fugitive.

I'm glad Juliette helped her mother but I wouldn't have blamed her if she turned her out. It sounds like she has had so many chances. Juliette has made plenty of mistakes but most of her Mother's life she was just a kid.

I love Jonathan Jackson so I really hope they do something good with Avery's character. He deserves the chance to show what a great actor he is.

Teddy knows Rayna's oldest daughter isn't his and I think he has always known. Teddy is just an idiot for putting his mistress in his administration. I really hope he is found out and impeached or whatever you do to get rid of a mayor. They could write him out altogether for my part. Rayna's father made him mayor and now Teddy wants to wash his hands of the man just because he had the nerve to come to his daughter's defense. Teddy doesn't seem to realize who he is crossing.

I'm still kinda 'meh' on the show. I like it enough to keep watching but it's not as fabulous as it was for me when it started. I'm not sure why, though.

But I did want to weigh in on this:

I knew that Gunnar and Scarlet would get together but the timing of their kiss was very creeping considering the news that he just gave her about his brother.

This is going to sound really weird, and maybe I shouldn't share it because it's kinda TMI...but my husband said the same thing when we watched. But I remember when my sister died...the day that we buried her, my husband and I...well, you know.

So, to put a real life spin on it, I think sometimes, when we've lost someone we love, someone close to us, we need to feel like we're still living. Does that make sense?

Okay. I knew that was weird. But I think when we're dealing with death, especially an untimely death and in someone close in age to us passion and intimacy is a way to reassure of us being alive. I don't know...totally weird. But that's what I remember thinking when I saw that scene.

I don't think it's uncommon for this to happen. I know several people in the medical field, including some husband and wife teams. One of my friends stated after a really, really rough day when there's a lot of emotions involved, she usually wants to be intimate. For her it's more of an emotional release or a way to get closer, almost like an appreciation for life, and not just bad timing.

Yeah...that's what I was trying to say. Thanks!

Thanks for the link! JenKate77

That looks pretty intense! THat's crazy how they rush the stage when Juliette is singing. Looks like there may be a little to the story of Scarlett and Gunner with Avery...

So, is the lady in the previews a doctor or pharmacist? That could be a bad thing if she wants to make Deacon happy and she gets him back on pills or something ... Ugh. I already hate her!!!

Okay I have to comment on the previews for the next episode and hope it won't be a "spoiler"..ha ha
My daughter and I were extras in the taping of Juliette's concert and in fact you can see both of us in the preview listed above (7 seconds in) We are right of Juliette's hair from the back.I've got brown hair and in a Jean jacket and my daughter has red hair in a braid to the side. Also 20 seconds in she is being squished on the stage in front of Juliette and then you see me again right after (my friend said I looked like I was choking that other girl to the right - but I'm really trying to get to my daughter).

It was a fun day that's for sure!

Oh, that is SO cool!! Not that you got squished!)
How neat to be there!

When was it filmed?

How did you get the gig?

Did you get I meet any If the stars?

I'm gonna have to go watch the clip again to day I "know" them!

this particular scene was filmed at Two Old Hippes in the "gulch" area of Nashville
Two Old Hippies

How we got the gig was that we are both registered with On Location Casting that does the extras casting for the show in Nashville. they post on their facebook page for what they are looking for and you "apply". They needed a few kids in the 17and under range for this shoot along with "moms". So we applied and they picked us. Sami (my daughter) was pulled up front because she was one of the 3 shorter kids - so they could shoot her and those behind her. She (and I) were RIGHT up front in front of Juliette (Hayden) -

Did we meet the cast - yes. I hope i'm not going to give too much away but from the scenes they show you can see the crowd goes wild and some kids get pushed down in front (one is my daughter). On one take she was really squished and had a minor "panic" type attack. Hayden noticed I was talking to her and she was crying so she came over and pulled her up out of the crowd and took her over to the side (of course all 100+ crew and extras are watching) and was doting all over her. Trying to calm her down, telling her about getting thrown off different stuff on heros and rubbing her leg. Charles and the directors were right there as well. After about 5 minutes my daughter felt better and she was ready to go. We shot one more time. Then the took the extras back to the holding area....but Hayden stopped my daughter to check on her again. Then wanted to buy her a necklace so they went "shopping" in the store. Needless to say I got photos - then Charles came back up to her and was talking to her and got photos... also the stunt director and director came and talked to her as well. They were great about everything and she was okay to shoot the rest of the day and Hayden & the director kept asking her after each cut "you okay sami!" and she would give them a thumbs up.

I thought last night was supposed to be a new show, too. Instead it was a rerun with a preview that I think said will be a new show in 2 weeks. Don't these people know it's my favorite show and I don't want to be made to wait for new episodes!
