8 1/2 years ago the father of a former student tried to kill his family as they slept by stabbing them in their sleep. He stabbed the oldest son, who was in the 8th grade at the time, first and then left him to go do the same to the other two children and his wife. The oldest son was not dead and managed to get up and fight off his father and rescue the family. The man has been in prison since then, but is getting out today.
The mother is terrified for her family. She is also very concerned for the stress level of the youngest child who still lives at home. This child was diagnosed with Crohn's disease just 3 months after her father tried to kill her. She has a very severe form of the disease and has lost her entire large intestine. She has been homebound instructed throughout 4 years of high school because of her numerous surgeries. She has almost died several times in the last 4 years.
Please pray that this horrible man will stay very far away from his family and that they can have some peace.

Update:
Thank you all so much for the prayers for this family. The mother posted an update just a bit ago thanking everyone for their prayer and support. She also let us know that her own mother had been admitted to the hospital yesterday for breathing problems and a CT scan today showed several large masses in her lungs. She will see a cancer doctor on Monday. It seems like there is no end to the challenges this family is having to face. Please continue to pray for them! | |

Oh, that is terrible! Praying that this man will stay far, far away. Praying for peace for this family and that the stress of this situation does not affect the health of this girl any longer. |

I hope they are safe and prayers said.
This just pisses me off - our judicial system is so screwed up. Was he tried on an insanity defense? Has he had counseling? Meds? What a mess.

Contact the parole or probation dept in your county and request he be placed in another county or state.
Check with local neighborhood watch and explain the situation and ask for drive byes
Get an automatic alarm system that reports to a control center (may give a discount due to circumstances)

I know of someone who was stabbed 16 times by his ex wife and her accomplice. She missed his carotid artery by 1/4 of an inch.
They were stopped from killing him by their 10 year old son, who heard the noise and started screaming at his mom to stop. She and the accomplice fled after that. She served less than 5 years in jail...same for her accomplice.
Our justice system is messed up. So sorry that he is getting out...I'll be praying.

Our justice system is screwed up. They send drug users and embezzlers to prison for longer terms than that. Why in the HELL would they let out a crazy, violent person like this after such a short sentence? |
