Kikipea! Way to go!

I love pictures from races. The photo below is from the Columbus Half this past October.

I love this picture for so many reasons. I am not a cold weather runner. I am wearing a wool hat. I couldn't even put my hair up into a ponytail I was so cold. And I'm in mile seven and am still wearing my throw away gloves.

And the old guy passing me up. The one bent over wearing khaki style shorts and a leather belt. Awesome!

My daughter handing me some of those sugar pumpkin things! She considered it her job and took it very seriously. She and my husband ran about seven miles themselves through the back streets to see me on the route as often as they could.

I had calf problems throughout training and this is the moment I knew I'd be able to finish without walking!

Wow! That was a lot of information about one little photo!

Since we are doing race pics, here is a picture of me and a girlfriend at the finish of the Dirty Du in December. It was a mountain bike/trail run relay. She ran and I rode. Despite having 2 flats, we still came in first place! I've never pedaled so hard in my entire life!
I'm the one on the right (pardon the helmet hair).

And here is my all time favorite picture of my son and me. We were on a sunset sail down in Galveston Bay.

Sean Astin finished about 15 seconds behind us at the Disney Princess. I heard his name and tried looking around to find him but there were just too many people around.

How cool is that! If I were running near him, I'd totally be yelling at him "Goonies never say die!!!!"

Sean doesn't stop for pics. He's not super-fast but he keeps a super steady pace. I ran with him for several miles at Tink. He's training for a full right now - not sure if it was last weekend or next weekend that he's running it. I've last track.

Beth - Princess was my slowest half by....oh....um....a LOT! Came in at 2:53. Of course I did stop at every, single picture stop except one. For some reason I ran right by the villians. Not sure how that happened considering how little running I was doing! LOL! And I had to make 5, yes 5 potty stops. My body was not happy for some reason. *blush*

Oh well, it was fun and I have some great pictures! LOL!

I'm loving everyone's photos - keep them coming!

And... Sean!!!! eeee!!!

I love how this thread has turned into a health kick thread. Look at my weight loss! Look at my races!

Very inspiring.

I go to the gym regularly and am excited by all my new muscles -- especially useful when I was moving last weekend. But I sure don't look like that. I really miss running. I wish I could still do it

You're not the only one. I didn't realize it until AFTER I commented on 26.TWO's post. I thought it was a bit random that she brought up Sean Astin, but I figure I'd probably mention it too if there was a celebrity nearby. Then I scrolled back thru the thread, and it FINALLY clicked!

I don't have any new pictures to share...and my last race was in February...The Groundhog Run...aptly named because I look like a groundhog. NEVER will I share those pictures. I don't know why I can't remember to smile when I cross a finish line.

But I just wanted to respond to this:

She and my husband ran about seven miles themselves through the back streets to see me on the route as often as they could.

I think that's just about the sweetest thing ever. My husband is a great guy...but he's never come out to even one race to cheer me on.

This is my hubby and I at Christmas. He's lost a total of 120 pounds and has kept it off for almost 2 years. I'm down 95 pounds.

This is me, likely at my largest or close to it.

And this is me after a long run at the gym. I noticed that after losing weight my smile is crooked (I have TMJ issues) and that I look like my baby pictures again! Me at 1 year and me at 42 years.

This is from a hike we did this summer in Newfoundland. The weather sucked, we couldn't even see the summit, the bridge across the river had been washed out the year before and we called the hike just before we hit the summit (which we couldn't even see) because the rocks were too slick for my youngest son. It was one of the best days ever!

Love all the pics of the peas! I'm impressed with all you runners! And great job on all the weight loss! I lost 35 pounds last year, so I know how hard it is to take it off and keep it off. Here's a picture of Vivian and I from last weekend at a daffodil farm.

I don't have any uploaded at the moment, but I just wanted to add that my friend Kristin gave Sean Astin his medal at the end of Tinkerbell, saw the camera crew and everything, but totally didn't realize it was him until her mom started yelling at her!

I was working the opposite side and totally missed it!

We were quoting Goonies the rest of the morning.

I am at the beginning of my running journey and I am not nearly as fit as the rest of you! I would love to lose 50 lbs but I am taking it one pound at a time.

SIL and I ran the Princess 5K. I started running in January and she has been an obsessive exerciser, but not a runner for years. We had a blast at the Princess and plan to do it again next year along with my DH and two of our boys (the younger two want no parts of it). I am the very pale, chubby one and she is the tan, fit one.

PS Sean ran the Princess 5K on Saturday too.

OK here's my race photo contribution.

This is last weekend at a local 10K. I'm the one in the blue on the right holding the apple I promptly demolished when I crossed the finish. I PR'd my 10K time by 8 minutes! My friend Jaime (on the left) got 2nd place in our age group.

"OK, here is my own 'race' photo. I am now halfway through my chemo treatments. Pardon the goofy look on my face. Perhaps next time I should wear a tutu! "

I absolutely love these pictures, but especially Nicole's picture of her own race - half way down with chemo? You're on the downhill side of it now!!

It's always fun to see the Peas!

I am impressed by those who are runners. The only time I run is if I have to catch a bus or something is chasing me.

Me.

Nicole, if you peamail me your address I will make sure you have a tutu for when you finish chemo!

Your race is 10x harder than any road race I could do.
