I found these on line and I am not sure what they would be used for...but as I AM looking for clear stamp storage options I thought these sheets might work if they could be cut down smaller? They are 12 x 12. What do the Peas think? Has anyone tried this?

That's exactly what I use to store my stamps, and I LOVE it!

I cut them down, and attach them to a cut down piece of white card stock (to make it sturdy). I then take the stamp set and stick it to the transparency sheet. They stick to the sheet like they do in the original packaging.

Oh, and I wanted to say that true "acrylic" sheets are really, really expensive. You can find much cheaper alternatives at places like J's and HL, and I think they're called "transparency" sheets.

What would be a good price? $1.00 each? Less?

Wait let me think, they might not be called transparency sheets. I just did a quick search on J's, and transparency sheets came up $10/5--NO WAY!

I know I bought mine through J's, give me a little bit and I'll see if I can figure out what they were called (I remember they came sandwiched between 2 cardstock sheets and I don't remember a name being on them).

I'll get back.

The brand I bought was Grafix Clear-Lay, and it comes on a pad. But, they don't come in 12x12 sheets. But for example, on Amazon (yeah, breaking TOU here ) you can get a pad of 25 sheets (9x12) for $7.50.

If I remember right, there was a thread here quite a while ago, and I'm pretty sure it was mentioned these can be bought at either M's, J's, or HL using a coupon, but I haven't run out of mine yet to hunt for more.

I know that size might be off a bit, but they had different sizes, but i can't remember what they might have been.

I had no idea about these acrylic sheets. I have been using plastic sheet protectors that you can pick up at any office supply store. Now I have to go check these out, I always love the tips the Peas have.

Do you cut them down, and then stick your stamps to them? Just wondering how easy it is to get the stamps off.

Funny, because I just checked your idea, lol. If the sheet protectors work well, that might be the cheapest way of them all!

I have tried several things for storing unmounted stamps -- transparencies, CD cases and other kinds of plastic. Every one of them reacted with the mounting material on the stamps, or the acrylic on the clear ones.
SO, I have bone to the storage sheets that EZ mount makes for this purpose, and I haven't had any more problems. They cost a little more, but it's worth it not to have your stamps ruined.

I use 8 1/2 x 11 transparencies. I fold them in half and stick stamp on both sides of the inside. It has really worked well for me.

I store my clear and cling stamps on acrylic sheets which I store in the Tim Holtz pockets and love this system. It was hard for me to break my collections apart at first (I have my stamps sorted and stored in categories), but I have not regretted making this choice once. I have found so many stamps I'd forgotten about this way and really make better use of the things I own.

Flywhistle, what do you mean that some materials have reacted to your stamps? Just curious b/c I've had a few stamps that have melted (I know I've had a few sets in my window sill; admittedly it never occurred to me they could melt (clear ones, not wood or unmounted rubber) until I saw them melt.
