What do you think? Does it replace the need for a separate exfoliator? Did you notice if your skin looks better after using it for awhile?

For me, yes! My skin looks and feels so much better. I forget to take it on a week long trip last month and could really tell the difference, I love mine!

I think so.
I've had mine for just over two years. I'm not going to claim it fixed every single skin problem and I look 10 years younger...but I do think my skin is cleaner and it helps my skin products absorb better and any breakouts I do get heal faster.
If mine broke tomorrow, I'd buy a new one straight away.

I absolutely love mine! I now exfoliate with a scrub only once a week and use my Clarisonic twice a day. It is gentle but my skin is cleaner than it has ever been. Bought one for my DD so she would stop stealing mine.

I think it is. I still exfoliate, but now only twice a month. I don't really need to do it any more than that. I think it has made a noticible difference in my skin. I think it was money well spent.

I got one just over a month ago after reading a thread here and I love it. I'm with pjaye in that I don't look 10 years younger or anything, but I do see a difference in my skin!

Never used one, but I did buy an Olay Pro-X and love it (at least compared to my previous cleansing routine). My skin is softer, less flaky and smoother.

Same here. It would be interesting to know if anyone has done a side by side comparison of the Pro-X and the Clarisonic. I know there is a huge difference in price. My Pro-X seems to do a good job.

I love mine!
I really noticed the difference when I went on vacation and didn't take it...

I use mine every night with face wash to remove makeup
I only use it about 2 mornings a week - I put coconut oil on my face - hop in the shower then use the clarisonic - my skin is so smooth those days!
I also do a regular exfoliate 1x a week (no clarisonic with it)

I think this is the one I had before I got the Clarisonic. It does a good job of "cleaning" your face but the Clarisonic does a much better job of exfoliating your skin and clearing our your pores. Which is important to me because I have acne prone skin.

After reading about them here, I started looking into buying one. I am so used to making a great income and purchasing anything I want, but I am now on disability and learning to cut back in every area.

Due to my new financial situation, I purchased a different brand that saved me $100. Many of the reviews compared the two equally. Well the Prosonic broke within the first week of use. After getting my refund, I decided to go ahead and get the Clarisonic. I love it. It is superior to the Prosonic in that only the interior of the brush moves with a ring of bristles remaining static. That makes all the difference when using it in front of the mirror instead of in the shower. The soap doesn't fling off and land all over the mirror and sink top like the Prosonic did.

I felt it was worth the price. As it worked out though, I ended up getting it for free! The unit I purchased came with four extra brushes. When it arrived, there were no brushes added, but they did include the body brush handle. I didn't need that since I had already purchased one. After going back and forth with a nasty seller, I finally complained to Amazon that the seller was refusing to honor the advertised sale.

I sent them a copy of the ad and the correspondence with the seller and they agreed with me, refunding my entire purchase price and allowing me to keep the Clarisonic system!

So even though mine ended up not costing me anything, I would purchase one again, just not from that seller. I do have an extra body brush still in the box if anyone wants one. I will mail it to anyone that wants to pay the shipping cost from 92630 zip.

I bought the Olay Pro-X about 5 days ago. After my first use I noticed a difference. My skin is so much softer. The cost was $33. The Clarisonic is so much more expensive. Why is that? The Pro-X has two speeds, but not sure about the Clarisonic.

I've been using it once a day to remove my make-up. I'm so glad I bought it!

Funny you should ask, I just bought the Olay Pro-X after going back and forth between the two. We lived with my parents for a short time when we moved here and my mom had a Clarisonic. I bought a brush head and "borrowed" hers for a couple weeks. I have sensitive skin and rosacea and I think for me I like the Olay one better. Plus, when my husband saw me after using it just once he told me I looked radiant

I got it this week on Amazon and it was $20 I think with a $3 off coupon, a steal in my book!

I googled it before I got my clarisonic and the Olay brush is smaller with a weaker motor. There are different clarisonic brushes and while mine only has one speed I think the others have more than one. They also have a timer that beeps to tell you to move to the next section of your skin.

Do you guys change your heads regularly?

For me, yes. I have had it for about five years now. It's still going strong. I use the blue brush head for delicate skin. Even the sensitive one is a little too harsh for me.

I am debating whether or not to ask for one of these for Mother's Day. It's between a Clarisonic or some Polish pottery I've had my eye on for a while. Will be watching this thread for feedback.

I was so happy to see this thread! I've had the Olay one for over a year and have really liked it... until I dropped it in the shower this morning. The plastic cracked and it isn't working. So I'm debating on another Olay one, or moving on the the Clarisonic.

I'm still sorta torn, but I think I will end up getting the Clarisonic just because I think it might do a better job on cleaning pores.

Are you using the same brush head? I don't know if I would do that. Kind of like using the same washcloth.

I use any mild cleanser with mine. I have older skin but am still acne prone. I like cetaphil for oily skin, trader joes nourish (just bought this), Olay foaming cleanser.

I've been wondering how people sanitize their Olay pro x or clarisonic?

I resisted buying one for quite some time and then finally caved in about 3 months ago. I used it religiously for 6 weeks but it made my skin break out. Now it just sits in the bathroom

That's the brush I use. I love it! I was reluctant to try it because I thought it might be stiffer than the regular brush, but I find it's actually a bit softer.

Mine made my skin break out for a while, too. My skin looked fantastic for the first couple of weeks; then looked like crap for the next couple of weeks. Supposedly, it's bringing all the junk to the surface, so you go through a period of breakout as all the yuck gets cleared out. Once I got over the breakout part, it's been great ever since.

I'm sorry you didn't have such good luck!

I use the same toothbrush each time that I brush and that seems worse than using the same brush head on my face. On my ProX, I just rinse it off good each time and let it dry.

Ok, so I've been going back and forth about getting one and checked out a lot of comparisons on the web. Here's what I've come up with. -PS.take it for what it's worth, and please don't blame me if you get something and regret it.

The clarasonic cleans with a sonic, pulsating motor. The Olay pro x is a rotating brush. Some say the sonic method is better, especially for getting into the pores. And, they feel the Olay one "pulls" at their skin. Other say the Olay works just as well, if not better, and the price is unbeatable. Both suggest cleaning out the brush with antibacterial soap to extend brush life.

Recently, a pea posted here that Olay has a new system out. It's called va va something.(sorry, can't remember and am in a hurry). This system has a small triangular brush to get into the small spaces, and, most importantly, IT IS SONIC. The pea who posted about it- I'm so sorry I can't remember her name, but I see her pic clear as day in my mind. Try a search for a recent thread about new beauty products.- she even called it the poor woman's clarasonic. It is MUCH CHEAPER, like around 12 bucks or so. Also, the brush is made of thicker soft plastic things, not plastic fibers like the clarasonic and Olay x.

So, my conclusion is if you're a beauty maven and the cost is ok for you, go for the clarasonic. If not, the olays seem to be pretty good alternatives. I myself am a cheap son of a gun , so I'm on the lookout for a coupon and then I'll try the va va thing.

HTH a little,
Berty

I asked my dermatologist and he said no.

It might depend on your skin but he made it very clear that I should NOT buy or use one. My skin is sensitive and he really says that the less I monkey around with my skin the better.

I used to have a Clarisonic and I like it, but didn't love it. At the time, I didn't feel it damaged my skin, but neither did it make it better. I stopped using it. Now that I don't use it, my skin is happier. My skin does best with a glycolic acid cleanser and no manual exfoliation.

Shame on you Two Peas Enablers. You know who you are. There have been so many post about the Clarisonic, that I decided to check it out further. Ran by Ultra while I was out today, (yeah, I was at Archivers right next door, but that is a different group of Pea Enablers). Ultra has a display set up so that you can check the different ones out. There is a much different feel to the Clarisonic than there is with the Pro X. The Clarisonic Pro Kit with the body extension came home with me.

I had a Pro-x, it was ok, it did cause irritation after a while and I broke out. So I finally broke down and bought the Clarisonic, (since the peas were convinced it was the best thing ever) Well they were totally right about that one. I washed my face and then used it after, WOW how much make up and came off after I thought my face was clean. I have WAY less breakouts. My skin is so smooth it's hard to believe it's mine.

and clearing our your pores.
And THAT ! Wow, that really gets them cleaned out and so much smaller.

If you can do it, skip the Pro-x and put the $ towards the real deal.
