Hi,
I got some problems with scrapbooking with big embellishments. It is like I'm buying an ephemera package and the biggest always disappear from sight. Although they have all forms and shapes they stay unused in the drawer.

Can you help me out?

I usually tuck part of them behind my photos. Or I cut them up. I even sometimes "gasp!" toss them in my donate pile.

Once I got over the fear of cutting them up, I used them a lot more.

That said, I have a sheet with a giant sunflower and giant pumpkin I have had probably 8 years and not figured out how to use! I think I'll go home tonight and put it in my donate pile.

I agree that tucking them behind things so only a portion is sticking out is a great way to use them up!

Thank you both for your answers, they are helpful. I can do that for some of them, but still I have some I just want to use as whole embellishments (for example a bike or something like that). How do I use them?

I also either tuck it behind, or if I love it I build the layout around it.

Use it as focal element on your page. I could see that a huge bike die cut would look really cute with a little flag or banner over it/on it/attached to it, with the title or the date on it.

I would put a large bike in the corner of my photo and build around it. Or you could use it on a card.

Here's an example of how I used a big bike sticker element from the Sweet Day collection by Echo Park

I like to cut them up and layer them.

I pop dot them and make them into dimensional embellishments this also works for me if I scan them and cut out the image and pop dot the 2 together making them into a 3-D sticker.

Oh, Cricutgirlg, I love that idea! I am definitely giving that a try.

Also, once in a while I wish I had 2 of a chipboard or sticker, I never thought to scan/print it!

Depending on what the embellie is, sometimes I like to use them to layer under titles. I like to use those funky or big embellies to anchor my titles.

I have also started to use larger embellishments as a pocket for either journaling or ephemera from the layout topic experience. That large pumpkin you were discussing, the 12x12 sized one??? (or almost) - I cut a slit in the one ridge of the pumpkin, and slid pamphlets from the Pumpkin fest into it.
