I used to always have the dream where my teeth were coming loose, and I would actually feel them in my mouth and taste blood as i spit them out.

I read that this means you are overly worried about your appearance and what people think of that. I think that works, because I have the dream less as I get older, and also care less about those things.

Do you have any recurring dreams, and ever look up what they mean?

I keep driving and getting lost but I'm not all that nervous during the whole thing. I'm actually happy with this dream to a degree. (Before I used to dream I was a passenger in a car driven by my ex and he was going backwards.) I think it means that I'm finally in control. I get lost along the way but I'm finally just trying to figure it out without falling apart.

I always have the dream that I'm in college again and it's finals week. I'm in a panic because I haven't been to any classes all semester. I can't even remember what classes I'm in or where they meet.

I have this dream at least once a week.

Yes I've had that same loose teeth dream with the taste of blood.

Other recurring mouth dreams: I have straight pins or glass in my mouth, and am carefully trying to get it out without cutting myself; have have gobs of really thick chewing gum stuck in my teeth, and am trying to pull it all out, keeping pulling more and more out, never coming to an end of the gum; I have a never-ending strand of floss stuck in my teeth, and pulling it out hand over hand, but it never stops

Eye dreams trying to insert a dinner plate size contact lens;

Hair dreams where my scalp is packed with solidified grease like old Crisco; or I have copious amounts of hair growing in inappropriate places on my body;

Need to pee, but wherever I find a toilet, it's in a public place, so I end up peeing during a meeting at work, or in front of a Chinese restaurant, or on stage during a play, or on the dock of a busy pier;

Frustration dreams that include repeatedly misdialing a pushbutton telephone, getting mad and pushing the buttons really hard; adding a column of numbers using an adding machine/calculator over and over, failing to get the same/correct answer; I'm packing a suitcase for what seems like hours and hours of the night, and never get finished.

All of the above I've dreamed over and over. Some of them seem really symbolic to me.

I used to be a diver, and I had a recurring dream for years that I was up on the board, and as I was doing my approach, the bolts holding the diving board to the deck would come loose, and would sway and collapse just as I went into the air. I haven't been on a diving board in years, and I still occasionally have that dream.

I had the tooth falling out dream once. I could feel it as I was wiggling it around my mouth with my tongue. Only, it didn't taste bloody. It was minty.

I fell asleep with a Tic Tac in my mouth

I have the tooth one also. Just teeth falling out though, no blood. I also have a rather disgusting one about trying to find a clean bathroom. I am usually at work in the dream and go into a bathroom(it looks more like a gym bathroom though)and it is disgusting! I am just trying to find a clean stall and just find, literally, crap! It is gross and I have no idea why I have it.

I have 2 recurring dreams/nightmares.

One dream is where I am searching for something and I can see but not with the vision I have in real life. Things are blurry and I can't make anything out.

The other dream is about any kind of mice or rodent. They are coming after me. I have had dreams like that 100's of times. I hate rodents with a passion. Hate them.

Yes, but I've never looked up the meaning because I think what is significant to me may not hold the same meaning for someone else.

I sometimes still dream about school, but that dream has mostly been replaced with dreams about going back to work at the company I left when I had kids (I had worked there for 15 years). I also sometimes dream about an apartment I lived in (actually 3 or 4) none of which I actually ever lived in. I used to dream about fire when I was little but fortunately not anymore!

All of yours seem so tame compared to mine. I feel like a weirdo!

I have a recurring dream where I witness a murder. I watch the man walk in the house, he is walking in slow motion so I can see things down to a scar on his finger. I am standing in the kitchen behind the counter, he walks in through the back door, walks through the kitchen and walks through a doorway, through the dining room, into the living room and stabs a woman and child. I can see a lot of detail in both the house and the man. I can see notes on a calendar in the kitchen, color of the floors, carpets, describe the furniture, the paint colors, the stuff in the sink and on the counters. Freaks me out every time.

The other dream I have frequently is like something out of a movie. Old wooden home, wide plank floors. It's getting dark outside and the I am walking on the first floor of the house which is a long room filled with beds. There are people in the beds and they all look frightened and frightened for me. I stop at each one, we don't say anything but they look scared and I feel scared. Some grasp my hand as though trying to say something without words. I am in a long dress with an apron and a head scarf. I think I am an older lady (70's or so) because I can see wrinkles on my hand when I stop at each bed. Each person has this open tube in their mouth. I don't know what it is for. As I am walking to the stairs, a little boy about 8-9 years old joins me. We walk towards the only lit room in the house, upstairs, it's more old wood, plank floors, a small bed, light pink wall paper and what looks like some sort of kerosene lamp. The boy and I both stand in the room and I get the feeling that all of the people in the house have to do this at one point or another, for some reason, and it was our turn.
The boy and I lean on the bed, putting our heads on our arms. We kind of peek at each other under our arms, afraid. FOr some reason at this point, I look behind me at the door and there is a ghost like demon standing there. I quickly put my head back down and the boy realises that "it" is starting. Whatever it is. I can feel the demon thing coming into the room. No footstep...kind of hovering. It continues to hover around us. Attempting to peek under our arms at our faces. We both also have the weird, tube things in our mouths. We both try to remind each other not to make eye contact with it, without speaking. The door slams and we are alone in the room with the thing. It goes on, but I won't bore you with the weirdness. LOL

I have both of these dreams at least a few times a month.

My stepdaughter insists on making the second dream a screen play LOL. She says she wants to see it herself. I keep telling her that I would only allow it if I could get it exactly like I see it in the dream.

I told you! WEIRDO!

I have a recurring dream that I have been having for thirty years. I'm walking down the stairs in junior high. I'm looking down on my feet as I walk down the stairs. I stumble, which causes me to startle, and I wake up. I absolutely hate that dream. It's the worst feeling when I stumble and start to fall.

Some really interesting stuff here, TFS!

I forgot another one that I have had multiple times.

I have killed someone. Not sure why or how, and I don't really feel bad about it. But now I have this body that I have to get rid of, and in the dream I'm kind of annoyed by the problem and just want to get it over with. When I wake up that's what I remember - that I had this bizarre reaction to having killed someone, as if it's a task that I have to cross off my to do list!

I have three recurring themes:
1) people have come to my home for a party I forgot about and I am scrambling to come up with stuff to serve them
2) being on my way somewhere and running into all kinds of travel obstacles - broken stairs, collapsed bridges, impassable roads
3) wanting to scream for help and no sound will come out

Last night I dreamed about hustling everyone into the basement for a coming hurricane.

My recurring dreams are work-related and I'm usually working for one company but it's a combination of three different places that I worked at the longest since I graduated high school. In those dreams, I'm constantly being distracted or interrupted in my work. I'm working and working and working but never getting anything accomplished.

Did you ever dream about a place that you are totally familiar with IRL but it is very different in your dreams? That is how I dream about home, where my DH and I are now. My Dad still lives in the same neighborhood, the same house, in fact, that I grew up in. Whenever I visit him, it amazes me that my growing up home and the old neighborhood look exactly the same in my dreams as they do IRL.

In my dreams I am the only character that is still living. I dream about mom, stepdad ,grandparents and friends that have all passed. crazy.

Other dreams are very sexual. scary sexual. I can't stop whatever is going on and in some cases it is violent sex. 50 shades of grey in the extreme.

I also have dreams of returning to work after injury and I can't do the job that I was trained to do. I keep trying and I finally have to admit that I can't do the job, with much remorse.

I dream so vividly that I can move things with my mind, that I've been awake for a while before I realize that I really can't. (maybe I can!! )

I sometimes dream about running. Not running from something, but jogging, and it feels great. Something tells me it's nothing like that.

I have the dream where the bottom half of me is naked or almost naked (long shirt) and I'm at a class reunion or a public place and everyone is looking at me. I'm trying to find pants, but of course, never do.

Then I have the "I gotta pee and can't find the bathroom" dream. It's probably the most common one. It's a rush to see if I'm going to actually wake up and pee before I finally find that bathroom.

I dream about sightseeing in London with a group of friends. It's always the same hotel and the same section. Although irl I have been to London, I have never been here and I remember it vividly. I have a similar dream about the house I grew up in. It seems like that house but its even better than the original. I also have a recurring dream about my parents summer house (its not their house at all, the one in the dream) but there is a whole fictitious history to it about a couple being murdered there and its haunted...I also dream about my cats (former and present). Sometimes they appear in the other dreams I already mentioned (except the London one). The mind works in mysterious ways!!!

I haven't had it in awhile, but one nightmare is where someone is chasing me and I can only run in slow motion. The fear is so great that it usually wakes me up in a cold sweat.

Another nightmare is that I drive off a bridge into the Mississippi river because it is foggy out and the bridge ends right over the center of the water. We survive and are able to help the other people that drove off the bridge too.

It just so happens my city is in the midst of replacing said bridge because it was deemed the #1 worst bridge in MN (after the collapse of the 35W bridge 6 years ago).

Mine is watching a plane flying and then it suddenly nosedives and crashes. There is a fireball and smoke but it's too far for me to get to to help. I can walk and walk but never reach it.

I've had the teeth crumbling one, too.

Also had the being in school but I can't remember my homeroom number or any of my classes and I'm worried about graduating because I haven't been to school all year.

Whenever I'm stressed because I've got too much going on and not enough time to finish, I dream that I'm waitressing and I'm the only one working with no manager or hostess to help, and we get slammed with customers. And I keep getting stiffed (no tips) because I'm so far behind even though I'm doing the best I can. It's been 20+ years since I've waitressed and still have nightmares about it

I have what I call my hair washing dream. I think it's my subconscious mind telling me you HAVE to get up NOW if you're gonna get your hair washed and get to work on time.

It will manifest in several different ways. I'll be at the renaissance festival (yeah, weird I know) and I'm running late and I'm trying to find the showers. Or I'm back at high school trying to get to class on time and I can't find my locker. When I finally find it, I can't remember the combination! And my shampoo is in there! Then I wake up. LOL Go figure. But that hair washing dream has saved me from being late to work more than one time.

My recurrent dream is similar - I'm driving, but my eyes are closed and I can't get them to open properly. I keep rubbing them and trying to see properly, but I can't, and I keep driving faster to try to get where I'm going. I don't think I'm overly upset or distressed by this in my dream, maybe slightly frustrated and I just keep going.

My "normal" dreams are very wacky and surreal, and never repeat themselves.

I think the pee dream (I have that one too!) is your brain's way of keeping you from peeing in your bed. You have to go, but you're so far asleep that you don't realize it so your brain throws up all those obstacles in your dream to keep you from actually going. Dirty stalls, stalls with no doors, bathrooms in weird public places, no empty bathrooms, can't get your pants unbuttoned, etc.

I have the anxiety dream about showing up to a class I didn't realize was on my schedule until the test. Also the one about wearing just a long shirt and no pants out in public..sounded like a good idea until I got out there. And the teeth falling out too. One is loose..then it goes..then they all go like dominoes.

I find it fascinating that people are fundamentally so much alike in our wiring that we have the same types of dreams.

Oh my gosh I can't believe so many people dream the same kind of stuff I do!

The having to pee and only finding dirty toilets....the being in high school and can't figure out a combination or schedule!

When I was young we lived on a street with woods at the end. I would have nightmares about Indians attacking and we had to hide in the closet!

Mine is always when I'm stressed about something. A big wad of bubblegum that I can't get out of my mouth. It sticks to my tongue, teeth, lips, etc. I feel like I'm going to gag or it is going to grow and choke me. I can't stand the taste of bubblegum because of it.

Since I've been pregnant, I frequently dream about protecting my little dog from all manner of danger. It has been everything from natural disasters to vampires, but he's always tucked away inside my sweatshirt and I'm running around trying to protect him. I think this is probably my brain's not-so-subtle way of dealing with my feelings about being a mom and the responsibilities of protecting my baby.

As a side note, pregnancy has also given me more naughty dreams. A recent one featured Eddie Murphy. My DH finds this hilarious and has teased me with Eddie Murphy YouTube clips since. I really hope that one does NOT become reoccurring.

I am late for a class and I am running but I can't seem to run. I can barely walk. It's like I am trying to run in quicksand.

NativeNewYorker, I like how you think!

I have several recurring themes (not the same exact dream, but same type), but only one is a bad one. I think of them as "stuff" dreams, where I'm cleaning out my high school locker, or a desk or trying to move, and the more I look around, the more clutter I find that I have to deal with, either by pitching it or carrying it, before I can leave. And all of it seems incredibly important!

There's a similar scene in the movie Labyrinth that speaks to me. Gah!

May your day be more beautiful than a unicorn farting rainbows!

Happy now?

I have 4 that I would consider regular occurrences (every few months.)

1. Driving over a bridge and it starts to get narrower and narrower and really difficult to drive on and sometimes goes under the water.

2. It's an emergency and I'm trying to make a phone call and I keep making mistakes and having to redial and redial.

3. (just had this the other night) I'm on a plane and it's crashing, like spiraling down.

4. The college dream - it's finals week and I can't figure out why I never went to class, never even got my schedule and didn't buy the books. I had that one last week.

My subconscious works overtime I think!!!

I haven't had the teeth one, but I do remember that Dr. Oz had a guest on that addressed this and other dreams on his show before. I just can't remember what it is thought to refer to.

I have several recurring dreams.

1. The one with being back in school and can't remember my schedule. I keep going to my locker & trying to remember my next 4 classes because I won't be able to get back to my locker between classes.

2. Being at work & either not having on a shirt or not having a shirt & pants. I keep crossing my arms across my chest to cover my bra.

3. I have a tiny car and for some reason I always end up in a situation where I am carrying or pushing the car. But the burden of carrying the car is no more than if I were carrying a skateboard. I usually have someone else with me, but not the same person. Many times, the person with me is someone that I know in the dream, but not someone in my real life.

4. It always involves being trapped in a relationship with my first boyfriend. I'm always trying to get back to my now husband, but can't escape from this bf. I always awaken very shaken up as these dreams are very realistic. (Note: This was a relationship that I ended over 17 1/2 yrs ago due to no longer loving him & he was in no way abusive or demeaning to me. He was my 1st bf & it lasted 6 yrs, but I don't feel like he was my "first love".)

I have two, the first started a long long time ago, I'm in an elevator, the door won't close but the elevator keeps going up and down and I'm terrified I'm going to fall out.

The second just started recently - I keep dreaming that I'm smoking and then remember that I quit and I'm not supposed to be smoking. (I quit smoking more than 6 years ago)

I did a search for the teeth falling out.

According to the dream analyst on Dr. Oz, the teeth falling out meant 2 things. For women it usually means wanting a child (or possibly something else missing from your life), for men it has a totally different meaning.

Happy now?

The having to pee and only finding dirty toilets....the being in high school and can't figure out a combination or schedule!

Oh, I've had that one more than once. And more than dirty, they are disgusting.

The college dream. Exactly as others have described it.

Or the dream I am not going to graduate from high school.

Forgot about that one! In addition to being dirty, they're also often in the middle of a room or other very public place.

May your day be more beautiful than a unicorn farting rainbows!

I haven't had a recurring theme to my dreams in a long time. However, when I was going through a particularly rough time in my life, these two themes surfaced in rather frequent nightmares:
Someone breaking into the house while I was home and in bed
A snake eating my cat! (WTH???)

My teeth are crumbling out of my mouth. They must grow back and do it again because they keep crumbling.

And then just before vacation I was eating a jolly rancher and bit down and the crunch wasn't candy... the filling split my tooth and it crumbled out. Gave me shivers.

It is difficult for me to look at excited little kids showing me their loose teeth.

or it is two Army guys at my door telling me my husband is gone. Hearing his words "I love you baby" playing over and over and over until I wake up crying. It's been a tough deployment and we have lost quite a few guys. Thankfully it is about half over but this almost nightly recurring dream is making me a bit CRAZY!!

Thecakegirl--I am so sorry!! I've had that dream too! I'm glad you are on the downhill side of this deployment.

My recurring weird dreams are that I drive up steep, steep hills and the car slides back down, sometimes due to water or ice. Sometimes it just slides. I've read that this means fear of failure.

Another one I have is that I have to shower, but I'm not at home so I end up showering somewhere like church or Home Depot. I think that's my brain saying 'wake up!'.

I have 3

My teeth crumble into a million pieces, one at a time and the dentist can't do anything to stop it.

I am in high school and forget my locker combination (I've been out of HS for 25 years)

I am in college. It is just weeks away (or less) from graduation and I find out that I missed taking something and I'm 1 credit short to graduate!

Ever get the feeling your stuff strutted off without you?

I dream about my parents house a lot! But in my dreams I live in it as an adult along with lots of other people who are family and strangers.

I also dream about my grandparents farm too, except I am always running from something there and looking for hidden doors and hallways. In real life I was always felt very secure and nothing bad happened there!

For many years I had a dream that was in the 1920's time frame and I was in a bar with a man named Eli and he kept calling me Lucy. He was very angry with me and shot me! I had that dream over and over. One of my friends told me next time I had it to ask him his last name. I never had the dream again!
