We are on a tight budget this month. There were 5 things on his list: chicken fillets, tinned tuna, fruit, basil pesto, deoderant.

$150 later, and this is what he came home with (as it appears on the docket):
Cadbury chocolate
Cadbury chocolate
Cadbury sharepacks 2 for $6
chewing gum 2 pack
chewing gum 2 pack
Wrigleys gum 2 for $6
beef lasagne
vanilla ice cream
mango ice cream
hot dogs
Cadbury chocolate bars Qty: 4
Cadbury bars choc
basil pesto
potato chips 8 pack
Parkers pretzels
Cheetos cheese balls
Cheezels cheese snack
microwave popcorn
Thai red curry tuna Qty: 6
pasta sauce
chicken breast fillets
shortcut bacon
Zyrtec hayfever tablets
Dove body lotion

Well, at least he got everything on the list, including a little bit of fruit!

Well I shouldn't really complain....... earlier that evening I had lamented the fact that there were no cookies or chocolate to have with my coffee. So I guess he thought he was doing me a favor!

I see it the red curry tuna?

Yep, that's the tuna....... it's really yummy!

Well, at least he didn't forget anything! LOL!

Good point! There have been times when he's gone to get milk and bread and has come back with everything but milk and bread!!

I can't take or let dh go grocery shopping. He will not stick to the list.

I've been drilling it into ds' head since birth (he goes grocery shopping with me) that if it isn't on the list, we don't get it. That works......sometimes...

Did he shop at Coles? I know they have chocolate on sale 2 for $6. Our local didn't have any of the coconut one so we didn't get any . And yes, our shopping list looks like that when DH does it.

He got everything on the list!

This reminds me of the time my friend got pissed when her husband cleaned the house - apparently, he did the rooms in the wrong order. He wasn't "banned" from doing dishes too. Because he did the silverware FIRST. (But, yea, they were clean. I asked.)

Hee hee...

I think it is sort of sweet that he remembered and bought some (and I use that term lightly!) choccie for you. My husband does this...I mention casually that I might like some _________ and he comes back from the shops with 3 types and 6 packs of each. Budget aside at least he got the necessities, lol!

I do all the grocery shopping in our house for this exact reason. If DH did it, our grocery budget for the month would be gone in a week, plus we'd have a pantry full of snacks and no actual food.

Bring me that horizon!

I read this to my husband and he said "yes, that sounds about right." His explanation is that he doesn't go into stores very often so when he does, he gets everything he always wanted!

My DH has been off work for several months so we are on a right budget as well. On Tuesday, he called me at work and asked if I'd like him to go to the store. I told him that'd be great and these are the items I needed:
Lean cuisines for lunch
Sugar free pudding
Unsweetened applesauce

He managed to spend $50 and not get a single thing I requested. Not one! So I at least give kudos to your man to getting what was on the list. That is hysterical.

Kiki is that your regular fridge?? LOL....

I banned my DH from shopping as he doesn't price compare.. so everything he buys is always the most expensive brand.. two bags of groceries is $100... YIKES...

Kiki... that fridge reminds me of my daughter's friend's house. They have their regular fridge in the kitchen always FULL to the brim, then in the pantry a freezer FULL of freezer type foods and another fridge which is called the drink fridge, which is ALWAYS stocked (like yours) of every kind of drink you can imagine.. pop/beer/sports drinks/you name it...ALWAYS full.

We are on a tight budget this month because of the AFL football finals (think: Superbowl). My team made it to the Grand Final and I spent hundreds of dollars on tickets to the matches throughout September. I figured we'd eat pasta and toasted sandwiches for the next 4 weeks. But now I guess it's chips and chocolate haha!

Good grief. Is he PMSing? That's a lot of chocolate!
This made me laugh out loud!

I also cracked up as I was reading through the list of what he bought, scanning for the items you requested. It wasn't until a dozen or so items in that I spotted pesto, and it stuck out so much compared to the junk that I cracked up!

Hysterical! My DH is pretty darned good about sticking to the list, probably because he got sick of having to go right back out if something was missed! If he's not sure about something, I get texts with pictures or phone calls.

I always silently giggle when I see a stray DH calling his wife about "the list" while in the middle of the produce aisle.
