Can somebody share why you pick one over the other??? And maybe break down the differences in "simple" terms? Is one focused more on the pics and one on the journaling?

I have never done either. Project Life was a total *fail* for me, but I keep thinking that maybe I could handle just one month? Of course, this could also be a complete failure too, who knows?

I am just going to try to do an album in December, kind of like a December daily. I do Project Life, but not the Project Life 365, like a picture a day or trying to keep up weekly. Too much pressure for me. Was that what stopped you from doing it?
I just do events or pictures I have with my Project Life products and I embellish the pages with all kinds of stuff. Sometimes I use my Cameo or Cricut, other times stamps. Lately,I have been using lots of Lawn Fawn cut and stamps. I just try to use what pictures I have, or print from my Selphy. I still do 12 by 12 pages too, but am enjoying the divided page protector way of scrapping too.

I personally feel they are the same concept. Documenting Christmas.

I am a part of JYC (I joined last year, and so happy I did!). It is very much story based, and for me, it caused me to focus on/tell about my past Christmases , and how current events in my life related to that. The cool thing about JYC is that once you join, you are a member for life! Very worth it for me, and Shimelle's daily emails in Dec were quite a joy to me!

What I did for JYC is just make sure I journaled daily in my journal, then went back later and scrapped it!

You don't have to pick one or the other. You can just record your favorite memories from December in one album.

December Daily as Ali does it is almost real-time scrapping of each day. That's all it is. She makes a framework of her album ahead of time and finishes in late December. But there is no rule that your album has to be completed by the end of December. I never have done it that way though I have an entry for each day in December.

Journal Your Christmas is a 37 day class with a focus on story and capturing memories. There is lots of content with prompts, examples, tons of inspiration and a forum. I love that once you buy the class you have a lifetime enrollment. I like getting the emails every day. It is great motivation for me to jot down memories of Christmases past as well as this year.

Another vote for both of them!
You can never have too much inspiration for a December album.

I tried to do both last year and it didn't really work out. I love Shimelle and she has great prompts for you for JYC but I didn't feel compelled to follow along. There were so many other things I was already including in my DD between holiday happenings, advent calendar activities and just day to day during the month. So I will do DD and not JYC.

I am a project lifer. That's why I am taking so many pictures.....

You can do both together. My 1st DD included daily snapshots on one side and seasonal journaling from the JYC class on the other side.
