I was in M's today and the whole aisle was empty. I know they're getting ready for the new products, but the complete aisle was K&Co. had been reset for stickers and other embellishments. Is K&Co. still in business? Please tell me yes, I can't live without their paper!

Yes. They're still in business! They are owned by EK Success now. I don't know everything in store but I do know that there's a new Christmas line coming in the early fall. So don't despair.

Actually Wilton owns both EK and K&Co - I believe there will be one day when you will no longer see either companies. I've heard from EK employees that K&Co will be no more before EK - maybe a year from now

Hmm.. that makes no sense to me. K&Co to me seems like one of the few lines out there that produces consistant, excellent products that are decent quality and "current". No sense whatsoever.

K&Co at my Michaels was the same, completely wiped out and clearanced out. I wondered the same thing, but I wish Id've asked. |

I had a heart attack there. I have a ton of their albums stashed in closet to use in the future, and I'll need refill pages for them. If they were kaput, I was about to spend a fortune stockpiling those, too.

I searched and did see the K&Co thread a couple of days ago so I didn't mean to give anyone a heart attached. But when I went in my M's all the slots in this aisle had been reset. So I read the labels and saw pegs for stickers and stamps. Hopefully K is going somewhere else in the other aisles. I started scrappin' with this brand and still always use the scrapbooks and paper pads. I've branched out a lot but they are always 1st in my heart!

I heard that M is getting rid of the K&Co stock because Wal-Mart is going to start carrying the whole line. I know that our small town Wal-Mart already has K&Co chipboard letters and a few embellishments. I don't know if this is true or not. I sure hope so, K&Co is my alltime favorite line of scrapbooking supplies. I LOVE their double sided papers. Their vintage look completely suits my scrap style. I use some of their products on 99.9% of my layouts . |

Sadly, I don't expect K & Company to be around in a year or maybe two at the most and that thought breaks my heart. I've been told that nothing new has been designed in well over a year and that most of what has been released in the past year was designed long ago. I'm afraid the huge collections with tons of different papers and oodles of coordinating embellishments from K & Co. may all too soon be a thing of the past. They used to have one of the absolute largest, most beautiful booths at the conventions and trade shows. They were once on top of the world! Things have changed a lot over the past couple of years, like a lot of places today. It's sad. Unfortunately the majority of my K & Co. friends have lost their jobs. |

Michaels seems to be getting much better about turning over product lines. IMHO it is almost too quickly lately- as soon as you turn around they are clearancing out a line they just got in.
K and Co. is one of my favorite companies. They had remarkable designers, beautiful products, and consistantly good quality. |

We have a relatively new M's- and the store is amazing. The entire center section is devoted to scrapping and stamping. And they seem to have current stuff... since we have no lss its a nice change! |

I sure hope K&Co doesn't disappear. Since I first discovered it (remember Tim Coffey's beautiful work? I was sad when he left.) it has been my absolute fave line, especially Brenda Walton's older stuff. No other company even comes close. OK, DCWV is getting there, a distant 2nd, LOL!
When all that older stuff went on clearance at M's a few years ago, and the embossed paper was going for a quarter apiece, I stocked up. I like their combination of elegant/swirly/pretty/colorful more than Anna Griffin's style of elegance. And since we have 2 girls, no boys, Brenda Walton's style is perfect for their pages, as is that new "Paper Doll" pad I mentioned in my other thread.
I'll be soooooooooo sad if K&Co ever disappear.

MOST OF THE STUFF IS STILL AT MY MICHAELS BUT IT IS NO LONGER IN ITS OWN SECTION. EVERYTHING IS BY THEME INSTEAD OF BY COMPANY. SO THE "BIRTHDAY" SECTION HAS EVERYTHING FROM ALL COMPANIES IN ONE PLACE.

My Micheals was putting out all kinds of new k&company stuff.
They had a couple of new vacation lines, boy and girl stuff, and some other new stuff. Plus they had room for a whole lot more.

IMHO it is almost too quickly lately- as soon as you turn around they are clearancing out a line they just got in.
I don't have a M's near me, but I noticed that with JoAnn Fabrics. For example, they clearanced out the DCWV Green Stack within a month after it was brand new in the store. My local J's just started stocking some new punches, Sizzix stuff (no more Cuttlebug), and lots of new clear stamp sets. This stuff has only been in their store maybe a month, and they've already put the bright colored staple bars for the Fastenator on "clearance" for $2.99 (down from $4.99) I was really surprised they put them on clearance so fast when they only just started stocking them within the past month. The mickey mouse staple bars (the only other ones they sell) haven't gone on clearance (yet).
And did you notice how they put all the "good" scrapbook stuff (punches, eyelets, brads, stamps, albums) at J's on sale this week for only 30% off so you can't use your 40% coupons for the coupon commotion sale?? I just got a flyer with 5 - 40% off coupons that I could use for stuff like that in the mail yesterday, but because they have all the "good stuff" on sale 30% off, I can't use any of them for scrapping stuff, well except for page protectors and adhesive. I really don't need anything else that is not on sale. Just like when they put out a new special scrapbook issue for Scrapbooks, Etc. or Creating Keepsakes that costs $13 to $15 and I want to use my 40% or 50% coupon but can't because they're "on sale" 10% off. Let's just say I'm onto them now. |

I went to M's last night and they had put out a lot of new K & Co. There was new Amy Butler, and then a whole bunch of pads with different themes and a really big multi-holiday pad. The embellishments are mixed in with the themed areas.
I've been told that nothing new has been designed in well over a year and that most of what has been released in the past year was designed long ago.
Brenda Walton designed her Madeleine and Valentine lines just last summer (they were released in the winter), and she has just completed two new lines (one of them is Christmas and should be in the store in October). |

Shoot, that "Paper Doll" shaped paper pad was screaming in one ear, and a 50% coupon on the other ear. How's a K&Co paper addict to resist?

To Scrapsticher, regarding JoAnn's and their sneaky coupon technique...
I caught on to them a long time ago. You are so right, they put everything on sale just so you can't use your good 40-50% off coupons! However, did you know that Michael's will accept JoAnn's coupons!!! Also, there are several Michael's near me and a couple of them will let you use a coupon on a clearance item. I bought several of the K&Co paper pads on clearance at $4.97, with a 40% off coupon, making them $2.99! I've also befriended a cashier at Michael's who will ring up as many coupons as I have all at once. |

My M's clearanced all K &Co out which devestated me but then i realized it was just because they were revamping the scrapbooking section of the store. It looks AMAZING! So many new clea stamps! New glitter! New Ink!! New Stamps! New paper pads! Oh my! The K & Co is now mixed in with all the other themed products like Baby theme, travel theme, wedding, etc etc. I was actually really impressed. I found a 40% off coupon this week so I will be stopping by every day twice a day to pick up goodies. |

Oh for the love of Pete. I'm just going to go buy the K & Co paper pads that I really want this weekend. I find that I really like their products and will be very bummed if they go away. I liked being able to say 'oh I really like that but don't foresee myself using it in the next month, so I'll just wait to get it'. Apparently that is not the best course of action anymore. Bah!
