Just wondering of anyone has details on release of the Slice Fabrique (see slice website for new fabic cutter) and/or release date & possible trade-in for the Slice Elite?

So wait, the Fabrique Slice only cuts fabric? So if I want the ability to cut both paper and fabric, I need to have both machines?

I've been using the fusible web stuff for a while now and using my Slice to cut fabric. According to the description of the Fabrique machine it says it cuts felt and more.

So I'd have to buy the second Slice to be able to do this?

I am wondering what is the deal with the Fabrique? I thougth MM had some fusible web that could be used with the older versions of the Slice to cut fabric. What the the advantage of getting the new machine? My DH would freak if I even mentioned getting a new cutter but I really would like to be able to cut shapes and letters for sewing projects.

Teri, thats what I've been trying to find out. I've been using the fusible web.

I found a video on Youtube posted by MM yesterday and watched it. It didn't say there was anything different or special about this new machine.

It did say you can cut felt and other thicker fabrics so I'm wondering if the blade is longer/stronger?

I have so many questions. I'm not a quilter but I would love to be able to cut their designs out of other material besides fabric. This kind of excited me.

But if I can already do that with my current Slice why would I get another one? And at least it isn't PINK! I'm so tired of pink tools. I refuse to purchase any so a lot of manufacturers are losing my business.

johnmac44 maybe they are pushing the new machine on those who are not scrappers and do not already have the current Slice. So a purchase would be their first and they may not want it to cut paper just fabrics only. I am glad that my machine will cut fabric. I need to get some of the fusible web. Do you still use the liquid sticky or the spray when cutting fabric?

Hey Laura I did a bunch of projects for QM also! Nice to "meet" you! The Fabrique is AWESOME! I sew much more than I scrapbook, so it's perfect for me. I use the spray when I cut fabric. It works perfect! Oh, and it does cut paper also ...

I am wondering if you have to use the fusible web with the fabric and then you can needle turn your shapes???

Honestly, from what I have seen it's just like the Slice Elite. I think the Fabrique is going to be carried at quilting & fabric stores. I think the Fabrique name is just branding. I mean all of this in a good way. Boy, I am just sound grumpy lately on my posts.
