QOTW - NO threw them out when we were on week 3 and I came across them. I have a Silhouette and Big Shot. I cut things when I need to. Occasionally I make a mistake and save something I cut that did not work. These are in a 12X12 Iris like container.

Since I am ok in this area, I will continue to work on chipboard. Have decided to move my alpha chipboard in with alphas - I think.

QOTW: No. Gave them to Girl Friday. It was a sqift...if painful...death. Inner Hoarder weaped
I do have 2 big packs of mulberry paper that I got from one of those endcaps (in like 2002) and haven't given up.

Am thinking of just pitching my diecuts (except for wild asparagus because it is wild asparagus and they don't make that anymore...and inner hoarder wont let me)

Nope, I don't have any of those diecuts. If I need something, I just cut it out. And since I'm good in this area too, I'm going to take a nap. I'm pretty sure my body is trying to get the flu but my brain is telling it to take a hike.
After naptime, I will go scrap. I think, LOL!

QOTW: I honestly don't think I have any.
I have a cricut and my sizzix, but if I cut it, I use it.
Yay- another week for me to use for paper and photos...will it ever end??!!!

Gonna play w crop stuff for the other thread.

Hi everyone. Maybe this will be an easier week for most of us. (catch-up weeks!)
QOTW: Yes, I still have a few, but most of them are separated by theme and stored with those huge amts of stickers that I can't seem to get rid of. I will go thru the few that are not sorted and weed them out. Wow, I can remember years ago being so excited to find a huge yellow baby chicken die-cut to use on one of my childhood pages! How dorky that sounds now...

Susan, Mel, and Lisa(luvs2lilboyz), you all have the best idea: cut as you go. Sounds perfect.

Amanda, Oh, that Girl Friday is one lucky little gal! I'll bet she's creative too. And you know I just used a sheet of mulberry paper on a l/o in a gift album before Christmas; I'd forgotten how pretty it can be. So don't give it up yet!

Cristi, thank you for hosting the crop; I've never been in an online crop or posted l/o's, but I'll try to get with the program later on this evening.

Oh shoot!! I forgot about the Wild Asparagus ones .... and I just bought a bunch of those and the My Mind's Eye one's that were clearanced as they were "so cute"

I think any of the die cuts I have that survived the purge from round 2 were added to the embelishment baskets.

My die cuts are with my stickers, I rarely look at them but they aren't in the way where they are so they can stay. Sorry I didn't get to make a youtube of my room last week, I finished putting my new paper away plus catagorized by manufacturer in a better way, collected each manufacturer from where it was on the clip-it-up (they were quite scattered) and put all my paper in page protectors. So paper is officially done, no more fussing I just have to keep up with any new paper I bring in. I also cleaned up my one closet that seems to be the catch all, or shall I say dump zone, when I want to clean up my work table in a hurry.

My digital photos are all on my computer sorted by year (yay!)

Stamps are still a work in progress, I have an iris container filling up fast with new stamps that need to be cataloged and organized
My room is looking better and definately feeling more organized, Who would have thought this process would last a couple of years.

QOTW: I only started collecting die cuts when I started working at my LSS 3 and a half years ago when we would get MME paper and accessories, so I really don't have many.

I do still have some of those diecuts. I don't have a lot of them and they are organized with my stickers. But I probably do need to purge them. I'm sure I won't be using them any time soon.

And I did get a slice for Christmas so I will be able to cut as I go from now on!

YEP, still have many flat paper diecuts. But on occasion I still use them, chalk them, use a little ink, layer to my hearts content. Mine are filed by category along with many stickers and stored in three Paper Sticker Binders.

I am finding the floor of my room again b/c during Christmas break and following my craft room which is located next to the LR was the dumping ground. Just got a few of those things cleared out and am about to find the top of my table again!

I have a telephone interview this morning - wish me luck I'm hoping to get something part time, but then to be able to build my recruiting business part time so I have the best of both worlds

Kris - how was the interview? And did you upload the "sketch" layout LOL? I am still working on yellow gave up on not using pp for that one. It was too hard to follow the sketch and not use pp. So will do the blue layout without pp but still follow the sketch. I am just trying to learn Nic's method! Will post later.

Angel -finding the floor is good! Mine is found but not vacuumed will do later.

Leisa - how do you like the Slice?

Crisann -we love you!

Amanda - All i could think of when I was cleaning was you!

I am now going out to run errands and yes I am going to the LSS that is 20 miles away. Loading the GPS with the address and hoping I do not purchase too much. Perhaps a new color of Glimmermist-LOL! I did watch a tutorial last night which helped and not having the right color was not good. And most important spray, dry, and then print your journaling. So two sheets of Bazzill Craft are now over in the Experiment Area for Creative Me. She has learned to try first and make permanent later. Makes OCD Me happy. Ok off to take Inner Hoarder to the LSS.

Amanda -sorry to hijack will think of my own names but those are so perfect!

Good morning everyone. I finally had time this morning to go back to our crop thread and leave comments on the challenge l/o's that everyone did. I wasn't smart enuff to figure out how to leave a comment on your blog Cristi, but I did enjoy your l/o's - loved the torn edges on your "ridin" l/o and the stamping on your "outerbanks" one.

Today I hope to go thru the few "un-categorized" die-cuts that I have in a Sterlite drawer and purge the ones that don't fit anywhere. The rest are OK for now filed by theme w. my stickers (way too many of those). And thanks to those of you that mentioned the Wild Asparagus die-cuts - I had completely forgotten about those. Those are with my WA papers in a separate drawer in a 12x12 Sterlite container. Need to dig those out and USE them!

Jen, You sure have been busy! Good for you that you have your pp done and your photos filed. I still have work to do on my photos; maybe I can catch up some on those this week.

Leisa, How are you liking your Slice? Can you cut alphas with it too?

angel 97701, Good for you on finding your floor! If it's like mine, it doesn't take long for it to disappear again.

Kris, Hope your interview went well. (I'm looking for part-time too.)

Susan, Whad'ya buy?! I miss our lss so much; we do have an A's about 25 miles away, but I miss being able to pop in at the lss.

Cristi, thanks for the crop - it really was a great idea.

Have a good day everyone. Maria

Here is is

So the interview this morning went well (I think). He will hopefully contact me later this week to see if I get a face to face interview. The job isn't part time, but it DOES have some odd hours so I can get away with taking time off here and there as I need to for DS.

Kris - LOVE the Tiki layout! Glad interview went well. Odd hours are good with little ones!

My new stash! - Place was nice but not super well stocked. I was expecting a bit more in the way of TH, Webster's Pages and Graphic 45 and BG. Very few stamps and NO GLIMMERMISTS. However did have a lot of My Mind's Eye and We are Memory Keepers.

THe list: White flocked lace, Dear Lizzy Bloomers ribbon in a pack, Maya Road chipboard in a tin - ok didn't need more but shapes were good as was price, 2 packages of Thickers but some have already fallen off the backing remind me to add adhesive, baby boy paper and accessories by Pebbles (not familiar with that brand), some Graphic 45 paper including one sheet of once upon a springtime, We are Memory Keepers Merry January - so cute, Cosmo Cricket and got Joy Ride complete kit for $5 in clearance section, marmalade distress stickles and crackle paint and fired brick crackle paint.

Going back to put it all away

Hey girls, does it normally take several minutes to pull up a layout in the gallery and have a comment post???
I left my first gallery on Kris's Tiki layout and it took longer than normal for the page to pull up and comment to post.

Anyway, all layouts done for the crop were great. I viewed them all and will go back and leave some lovin shortly. I was waiting for DS#4 (aka, the Potty Trainee, LOL) to take a nap. I should go scrap but I'm not feeling it right now. Which actually kind of ticks me off. I hate "wasting" precious scrappy time, LOL!

I agree!!! Cristi, you DO rock Such a generous prize!!
Congrats to the winners

Susan - Sounds like you ended up with a decent haul considering the store wasn't well stocked

Maria - What field of work are you in?? I'm in Human Resources.

So what if we aimed for a crop once a month?? Too much? Too little?? We decide hostess closer to.

I know there's a Canuck or two on here .... The Shopping Channel has a Cricut Expression bundle as the showstopper tomorrow!! I'm so flipping excited! I was debating whether to get the Expression at Christmastime, but if the deal is good enough tomorrow, I'm going for it!!

kris - i was kind of thinking once a month - a new person hosts each month.

we still have to figure out what we're doing in 9 weeks. lol... we're two-thirds of the way through this. i was going to keep a monthly thread going, if there's interest, just for us to chat/scrap...

Crisann - Definitely have to keep it going and I would be willing to host. That was by far the most productive crop I have been to virtual or real! And I would love to keep in touch!

Kris - really you will buy from TV? Are the deals that good? As for the haul some of the paper I purchased like the Cosmo Cricket was from 2009!!! Most of the Graphic 45 was Steampunk line which is not all that new! So I will go back because I did really like the We Are Memory Keepers line and they are current on that. Odd smell in there though!

Mel - how's the trainee? I miss naptime too especially as DD was on Skype twice today. I decided to make her look at my completed layouts, new products (pretending I was on U tube like Kristina's picks lol) and watch me reorganize chipboard. She kept on talking through all of it!

As for organizing - I reorganized chipboard today. All the alphas are together and the other items are separate! My new paper system is working much better. I have it on my desk and was able to quickly put away scraps and the new paper - really fast! So that leaves photos untouched in ages and stamps which I have made progress on!

I have vacuumed my room, cleaned off my ranger craft mat, and cleaned off my Silhouette map and resprayed it. Completed two more layouts

Susan - If the deal is good enough I'll buy Up here E's are regularly about $400. At Christmas I *think* they went down to $280. If it goes under $250, I will seriously consider it.

Glad you had a good and productive chat with your DD!!

if I didn't have my BossKut Gazelle I would probably be interested, but I love my Gazelle more than the cricut, we have an Expression at work and I have to say I been nothing but frustrated with it. It doesn't want to cut Prismatics paper.

morning ladies!

i still have so much to do before he gets home.

at the very least, i'm going to see to it that he comes home to a clean house. that could take awhile - lol...

every.single.time i pick up thor's toys, he takes them back out of the toy box, scatters them throughout the living room, and starts ripping them apart. i think i have a permanent two-year-old on my hands.

i'd also like to get some scrapbooking done. i promised him he'd come home to, at the very least, a finished december daily. i said, maybe, me: tav too. sometimes, i should just keep my mouth shut.

3 weeks really isn't all that long if you consider my cumulative to do lists. lol...

what's everyone else up to?

I went for a walk at the mall this morning with one of my BFF's. I'm hoping to talk the boy into going back to the mall for a quick stop at Old Navy - they had some great clearance prices on some Spidey grear as well as uniform shirts that would be great for DS.

Hopefully will get some scrapping done this morning/this evening. Tomorrow we start painting the family room and my scrap stuff will be inaccessuble for a couple of days

Finally checking in on this thread.

QOTW: Never had any. Closest M's is a 45 min. drive from here and no J's in Canada.

Most of my diecuts are labels and tags so I started sorting them by shape into little bags yesterday. I'll store them in a basket. But I do have some borders and larger shaped that won't fit in that system.

At the risk of repeating myself, I had a fabulous time at the crop. It was just the kickstart I needed to actually USE this stuff we've been organizing. Love the idea of a monthly crop! I'm willing to host.

Thanks again, Cristi! You are too generous!

lydia and amanda - alright, my dears... those are taken care of. my understanding is that you will receive an email from bpc w/ a redemption code in it. if, for whatever reason, you don't, let me know - i was smart enough to print them. lol...

someone asked me last week about studio calico and i got side-tracked, but yep, i subbed to it. i actually think i just cancelled it. i'm not sure - i guess i'll find out when they answer my email. and i didn't cancel it b/c i didn't like it - i loved it - i just cancelled b/c s/o was apparently pms'ing.

now that he took this job, he hasn't said a word about my spending - go figure! actually, he knew about the giveaway for the crop before you ladies did. i had his blessing on that one - his response was have fun! lol... he also knows about the *very* expensive metal stamping kit and kept quiet, so...

hmm... maybe, i should play this to my advantage and do a whole lot of shopping before he comes home. kidding, obviously...

if i'm going to do that, though, i'm going to have to hire a contractor to finish the enclosed porch b/c i'm growing out of my studio quite quickly - i'm actually going to talk to him about, maybe, doing that this summer and moving out there b/c it's almost twice the size of this room - i think this room's like 8x10. the enclosed porch is like 7.5x20 - a really odd size, but alot bigger...

i should see what he plans to do w/ the basement b/c he was talking about finishing that and moving my studio and his office down there - obviously, we don't know what we're doing - all we know is we're both growing out of our spaces. his vinyl cutter takes up most of his office and we all know how i shop, so...

at any rate, time's flying. the only thing i wish is he'd come home for a night here and there, if you get what i'm saying. sleeping w/ thor and dag is no fun! lol...

Sue- I am sure you can! Crisann is our fearless leader. Actually we are two thirds of the way through! Read the links on Wookiemouse's blog -she started Round 1 last year I think. This is my first time through the process and I love it. My room is much easier to work in -still looks like a mess because a lot is in a small space but I know where most of it is. Keep us posted on how you are doing and welcome!

Crisann - what sleeping with two dogs is no fun Sleeping with a coughing sick husband is not much fun either! I slept through the night a total of 2 nights last week I am making him go elsewhere tonight. I am so tired I could go to bed now.

Kris -I am still working on my blue layout - lol! Realized I have had neutral done for awhile, red and yellow are done so that leaves me with finishing blue, doing green, and purple. I think that is it right? Did you finish the color card book yet? I started it so want to finish it. Did you by the Expression?

Amanda - you should have bought a Silhouette for Inner Hoarder - so much easier to organize digital files! However, I have made several purchases for dies and embossing folders for my Big Shot and have them in the same sort of pile that you have your Cricut carts. I think I should keep my mouth shut now

Mel - how is the trainee?

Lydia - I had such a blast too! How many layouts did you get done?

Jen - love both pages you have posted on your blog! You are one talented lady!

Maria and Lisa - how were your days?

sue - sure, jump right in! you can work through weeks 20-29 with us. you can work through weeks 1-19 on your own, but i'm sure anyone here would be willing to answer any questions you have. all the links are in my original post.

i've done this once - atleast once the right way. at this point, i'm just putting off doing some painting/going to ikea.

then again, i have been for what? 20 weeks? lol...

er, i mean i post the threads every week b/c everyone seems to really like them and we've all gotten pretty close to eachother in the last year or so.

susan - oh, do i ever understand the small space feeling! and it's one dog/one cat (see picture in signature)...

at any rate, i have to go fill the boy's "firebox" - that's one thing i won't miss when he comes home.

Welcome Sue! You can pop in at any time. I am sure that there will be another round to come...as Cristi will need to organize her space when she does a hostile takeover of the basement/porch... LOL

Cristi- It is called retail therapy. I know friends who would buy furniture suites when their husbands deployed. Back in the early/poor days, every time he left, the furniture would get rearranged and something from Goodwill or Pier 1 or Target would find its way into the house....no honey that has been there forever....actually it was in the other corner before you left. Don't you remember?

Susan-oohh. Actually I want an accucut so that I can cut chipboard. However, I am 1) on a budget, and 2) don't have space to store that sucker as it is gianormous! I can also relate to loud DH. I slept on the couch from 2-5 this morning (after all, I am the SAHM and he has to work)...looking forward to him and his stuffy nose going on travel next week!

Line of the week: "Hostile takeover of space!" ROFL!

Crisann - I am planning a hostile takeover but not sure where yet! Your porch space sounds nice. Think long tables or counter tops with underneath storage...dreamy. DS has a 12 x 10 room and he is planning on med school next year so I say it is all mine... And yes retail therapy is a wonderful thing. I think DH knows I am tired which is why he said no problem to the LSS field trip yesterday!

Amanda - I used to be SAHM but I work now too and I have rheumatoid arthritis in mild flare up. I am exhausted anyway - well except when there is an online crop The whole time I was sick with this cold I was on vacation so I slept in the FR! He did sleep down here a few times but says he cannot sleep well without me! UGH! He is out of there tonight and I have three extra beds for him to choose from because the kids are back at work or school

Amanda forgot to post this - my Big Shot cuts through chipboard no problem! I have the electric one - push the button and it rolls through like butter!

I do want a wide format printer though for journaling on layouts and printing photos. Anyone here have one?

Crisann - round 4 hostile takeover sounds good. I should have refi by then and will need ideas. Anyone think redoing with counters and kitchen cabinets is better than the 2 5x5 expedits I have already along with a desk....

oh my, here we go - i told you ladies - no round 4!

if i remember correctly, this is how i ended up doing round 3. lol...

alright, so... i did all of the me: tav journaling - printed/cut it all out, inked all the edges - yes - see, there's an ocd me too. i started thinking about putting pictures into the 6-up template, but i just don't feel like it. it's only 8pm, but doing s/o's job... well, it's kind of starting to wear on me. oh, and i'm also still angry at the little alphabet blocks. i don't think pse likes me - for some reason, they seem to only be printing like half the size they should be.

Alrighty girls, I think I'm caught up on all of your fabulous layouts from the crop. What class are the color type layouts for/from??

Welcome, Sue!!!

Cristi, how often do you have to fill the woodbox thing??

The Potty Trainee is doing well, considering. He's "half way" there, LOL!

I will join in on the hostile takeover too! My DH is deploying soon so the house will be MINE MINE MINE!! Last time he left he made me promise to not buy any furniture so I went a little crazy with the electronic devices . This time, I'm going to spiff up the closets (hehe).

mel - color lo's are for/from nic howard's colour, or is it colour... probably should've taken it, but still "struggling" w/ dyl and me: tav.

"fire box" - hate that thing - have to fill it, atleast, twice a day. once around 7am and once around 7pm, but it never works out quite like that. example: filled it at 7am, checked it at 5pm, checked it at 7pm, filled it at 8pm - it was burning really slow today b/c it was so warm. i wanted to fill it at 7pm, but there was still too much wood in it and i'm not particularly fond of the idea of playing w/ burning wood, so...

so, round 4 is going to be called: "the hostile takeover round"? lol...

i have s/o on speakerphone again - he says we're going to have to wait awhile for round 4 - there's alot of work that needs done to the basement or the porch for either to be inhabitable.

i'm seriously thinking round 4, if i even let you ladies call it that, is going to be extremely informal - as organized as i am, i'm getting tired of links...

you'll get a thread once a month - max.

Round 4 who needs links? It is all memorized by now right? Even I only one my first round get the idea!

DH is now whining about our vacation to London. Somehow and it was NOT my fault my mother and our other kids got invited and it is our 25th anniversary! He is whining about the cost and how he found this great hotel that just the 2 of us to stay at but too expensive for all of us. He is carrying on about four poster bed with fluffy comforter blah blah. I am getting grumpy now! BUT I did not invite the others he did! So we need two rooms now because in Europe you cannot put 5 in a room - think I should avoid the LSS, Two Peas and Simon Says Stamp for quite some time. Looks like refi will be paying for vacation in part. When he gets this month's bill I am in such big trouble

Thanks for listening! We must do round 4 - my sanity is at stake and someone needs to stop me from spending!

Whatever Cristi, round 4 for sure
But seriously, let's just cut out the organizing and just chat. None of us are really organizing these days anyways ... we're just doing hostile takeovers

Ohh love the name Hostile Takeover Edition!

Mel-when/where about (unless it is classified) does your DH deploy? Mine deploys late Aug for 400 days or so to Bagdad...

Susan-there is never winning with a DH! LOL! Loved England when we did it in '99 and Scotland in'01 when DH's submarine had working port calls there. Food is fab...but everything closes from like 4 to 6. Must bring DH a tie and sportscoat and have high tea at Herrods (if they still do that). Hmmmm electric big shot.....may have to start looking for deals for that tax return

Kris-How goes the painting?

Off to volunteer w/ 2nd graders....
