Cristi - I'm impressed!! I'm up to about 15, but I tend to *binge buy* when the good sales are on. I bought 3 or 4 last November.

QOTW: Die cutters or letter stickers. Hmm, that is a tough one. They both have their advantages ... I think I do prefer my letter stickers. They're easier, more transportable and I have such a variety that I can usually find a set with all the letters I need. But then again, with my Disney album I'm *LOVING* the Mickey font and have used it on almost every page, I finished my sisters ABC album with the George font yesterday, and I like having the different size options ... OK - final decision. Like kids, I'm not choosing - I love them both. So there!

So which thread are we cropping on?? This one or last week's??

Good morning!!

Dies for Die cutting machines...hmmm...I don't have a lot but what I do have area ALL over the place. Guess I'll have to work on this one. I will post some before and after photos once I figure out what to do.

QOTW: do you prefer your die cutting machines or your letter stickers?

I prefer my letter stickers. I don't have a lot of fonts for my big shot so I really don't use them often. Most of the fonts I have are the quickcutz ones so they are the little individual dies and are kind of a pain in the tush.

I will be scrapping today so just let me know which thread to use. I'll have my computer with me since I'll be messing with my craftrobo (after I knock off the dust, LOL).

Good morning everyone. Wow, week 22 - we're really moving along. This week will hopefully be another catch-up week for me (I was useless in the organize mode last week) as I only have the BigKick and very few dies, 4 sets of alphas and 1 Tim Holtz flower die. They're sitting right on the tabletop, with one set in a Sizzix tower under the table. And I do have an extra Sizzix tower if anyone needs one that I will RAK to you.

QOTW: Since I don't have many dies, I guess I will choose letter stickers since they are so easy. However, yesterday I did cut some alphas for titles (2 styles) and I even used my corrugator on one set!

Cristi, I had forgotten about your Cricut until you posted the pretty covers on the wk 21 thread. So you're ahead of the game already! And s/o had better stoke that fire!

Kris, With that many cartridges, is it hard to decide which one to use for a l/o? Do all of them come with alphas or are some only designs?

Mel, What is a craftrobo and what are you making with it? Sounds industrial!

Hope to be able to crop some today, but there are people to be fed and chores to run. Maria

Hmmm...die cuts vs. letter stickers?!

I like my die cuts, however, lately, I'm IN LOVE with my letter stickers. Especially those itty bitty tiny type Cosmo Cricket ones. Other than those, my Thickers are pretty near and dear to my heart.

While I haven't touched my Sizzix since early last year, I have used a couple of Sizzlet dies in my Cuttlebug. That is about the extent of it.
I sold my baby bug around Christmas, and now I have a great set up for my Cricut E, using an old VHS cabinet. All my cartridges are stored there, along with the accessories. I've found that a huge Costco tote bag works well for transporting whatever Cricut stuff I need to crops. No need for that overly expensive CGull tote...like I need another storage tote, right?!

All my Sizzix stuff is stored in a 4 drawer Iris/Sterlite cart. I've slowly rid myself of the dies I know I won't use, or have something similar on my Cricut. I'm still crying over selling my 'ROUND-A-BOUT' sizzlet alphabet. I didn't even think that I would save so much $$ on Thickers. Now at every scrapbook yard sale, I'm searching high and low for that font. GRRRRR....

Crisann- happy for you that you held out and only have 5 cartridges.

Maria- you really need to join us and crop!

Kris- thank you for the executive decision.

So, we're cropping on this thread?! YAY...I'll be back with a photo or two, in a little bit.

alright, p365 is done as well - you ladies can check it out on my blog.

i have to go grocery shopping w/ him real quick - he won't leave me alone. sheesh, i sent him downstairs to finish unpacking while i finished up my p365, but that boy's got a mission.

be back soon!

Lisa - You're welcome

Maria - It's actually not too hard because *most* of my carts are so different. I do have 6 shape carts and they're all different. One bday, one Christmas, one calendar, one boy, the Cars one, and Life's a Beach. Because they're so different, it's easy to decide which one to use. My alphas are also very different - I use the Mickey font, George and Cuttin Up the most. I also have Old West, Lyrical letters, All Mixed Up and Opposites Attract. Those are only the ones I can rememeber.

I also have some QK and Sizzlits - but I think those are going in the LSS garage sale as I a;most *NEVER* pull them out anymore!! Sizzlits for sure, QK we'll decide when the sale comes up.

I don't understand the people who have dozens and dozens of carts. OMG. I think I would spend all my time trying to decide which ones to use. At least here, my toughest decision is between 2.

So DS is dropped off at a playdate, DH is out so I'm getting to work ... chat later!

Kris- I've been on the fence about that calendar cartridge and Life's a Beach. I can probably rent both cartridges at my LSS, at some point, which is why I haven't purchased them yet. I keep thinking, would I use either of them more then once for whatever image it is I want them for?!
It's not like my Cuttin' Up or Mickey cartriddges that I use all the time. OhMyCrafts keeps sending me sale offers, but I don't bite. At least, not yet.

It's actually sunny out today, and that J's papercrafting sale is calling my name. I'll see if DS wants to go for a short ride...I'm having a border punch attack...I need an intervention!!

LOL! Then I'll move on over here!!

I actually completed a layout. Relatively easy one but done nonetheless. I've been getting a monthly kit thing since October and I've only used a couple kits. If I don't start using them, I can't justify keeping the subscription so I'd best GET ON IT, LOL!!!

Maria - a CraftRobo is an electronic die cutting machine like the wishblade and Silloette (sp). It hooks up to the computer and cuts all of your installed fonts.

Happy Scrappin' all! I'll be back in a bit. I'm pretty sure my little guy is running a fever. Great.

Oh no, Mel!! Hopefully it's nothing that will put him out of commission for too long. Although this cold/whatever it is has been hanging around for eons.

Lisa - That's great you have the option of borrowing carts from the LSS. I can't do that and my scrappy friends are too far away to borrow To be honest, I have yet to crack the seal on the calendar one and I've only used the Life's a beach one, maybe a dozen times?? Although I still have a TON of summer-ish pictures to go through.

I have two layouts done One I just finished the journaling this morning but did the layout last night. I'll link them up once they're uploaded.

I promise I will go back tomorrow and look at all the linked layouts! Promise. If I try to do it now, the internet will suck me in and I won't scrap anymore today, LOL!

As for lunch Kris...I had yogurt, chicken nuggets (both of which my youngest started eating but didn't finish) and some macaroni salad. Now I'm eating chips because I have the serious munchies.

And BTW, it's 65 degrees here. I played outside for a little bit with the boys. OK I took photos while the boys played, LOL!

QOTW: I use what looks best on the layout. Now that I have my alphas organized I am using them more.

Organization: My SIL die images are just in the library not sorted. I prefer it that way then a search looks through the main folder and I can see everything in that category. My BIGZ dies and embossing folders are in a shoe holder over the back of my door. The smaller dies are in my Expedit and arranged like Amanda's carts which I copied My long dies are in a drawer that is narrow but 15 inches long. The tiny Sizzlet dies are in there too so they won't get lost.

Kris - love love the layouts ESP the princess one! OMGosh cannot believe rubons can look that good. I have an allergy to them that I think I shall have to overcome.

Off to cut some stuff with my SIL.

Hi all, I think I missed something, granted I didn't quite read all of last weeks posts, but are we doing a crop today and if so is there a specific challenge?

QOTW:I love both stickers and my diecutting machine for letters. Like what was mentioned earlier the stickers are easy to transport but the diecuts you never run out of certain letters.

I guess I can't just tag along this week, I do have some organizing to do.I have the BossKut Gazzelle electronic cutter so I have been copying tons of images to make into cutting files. So my goal this week is to 1.Not download anymore for now, 2.make what I have copied into cutting files and 3. to make a visual catalog of each design so I know what is available to me to cut. I also found out that SCAL works with my machine too so I've bought some designs from SVGCuts which also need to be put in with my other files and organized.

My Sizzix dies are all in one of the 4 drawer cubes from M's(I don't have that many.My embossing folders are also in one of these drawers but I think I will change that. I ordered some 12x12 page protectors that are divided into 4 6x6 pockets on each and then some with 5x7 pockets for the larger folders, these I am going to put into a 12x12 3 ring binder( one that I used to store paper in)and then I will be able to see the textures that I have and they will be easier to bring to crops.

jen - nothing formal - just whoever's around is scrapping/chatting...

kris - i have to buy the life's a beach cartridge.

lisa - ooo... i've been eyeing those babies up! they're on my list, but i'm really trying hard not to buy anything else until last month's balance is paid off - lol... christmas threw me for a loop. well, mostly all the great sales!

mel - hope your little guy's alright!

so, the grocery shopping, ofcourse, ended up not being all that quick. i was getting super-agitated - you know, mostly b/c i'm female, but also b/c it was right after church, so it was crazy-busy. next time, we're going at like 8am. lol...

we bought almost 50 packs of those lipton noodles & sauce - love those things! they were on sale. i especially love the cheddar ones, so...

alright, so... next up on the to do list is to see what i want to scrapbook...

I was productive, sort of. I blogged and 'tweet-ed'. I uploaded my project to the gallery, but I haven't quite figured out how to link it here. So, if someone would like to 'linky' for me, I'd appreciate it. Then, if you would be so kind and pea-mail me a 'how-to', maybe this non-techy can figure it out.

Off to work on a couple of pages, before the kiddos hit me up for a McD's run. Little one is out of french fries...can't have that!

lisa - lisa's jyc/dd project

so, i'm not sure if this is going to make sense or not, but...

links are alot easier if you open your project in one browser and have this thread open in another - right-click and copy the url of your project.

click on this thread. way down at the bottom of the message box - there's a box that says "insert pea code:"

you want to click on the one that says "url"

right-click and paste the url of your project into that box and click ok.

the next box that pops up lets you put in a title - that's where i put in "lisa's jyc/dd project," but you can put in whatever title you want and click ok.

once you click ok the second time you'll see the html in your message.

once you click submit on your message, the html will show up as a link on our thread.

does that make sense? try it once or twice!

Mel - missed that your son was sick! Not again! That was the hard part of having little ones!

Lisa - gorgeous DD book! Wish I had done a few of those years ago when my kids were little.

Crisann - lots of salt in those things!

BTW, I love love love Lipton Noodles and Sauce, too. I add Schwan's shrimp or Tyson's grilled chicken pieces and have quite a feast. So yummy!

Thanks for the comments, ladies. I'm going to try and whip up some more pages today, but the mojo is fading...probably too much blogging, tweet-ing, and uploading, LOL.

I think my mojo is gone too, I've been working on a Valentine's mini for a couple of weeks I made it with too many pages I think, I've been having a hard time coming up with things to put on all the pages. I think I'm tired of it, but if I put it away now it may go the way of the UFOs

I think I will try to work on my son's airsoft gun war photos

Sorry Cristi! I just noticed that I vetoed your "which thread for the crop" decision. I just thought it would be easier to stick to one thread vs crop on the old thread and come back to this thread ...

YUM! I love those Lipton noodles and sauce too! So easy for suppers!

Jen/Lisa - I lost my mojo at some point this afternoon too. Then we had to pick up DS and we ended up chatting for a few hours.

Waiting for supper (fajitas from Lonestar - YUM!!!) and then probably will work on P365 from last year a little more and get the rest of my pictures organized for January 2011.

susan - hope you're making some progress!

so, s/o decided he was hungry and in an attempt to get him to bid on a daylight position asap, i've made it my mission to learn to cook - meatloaf is in the oven, ladies! my first attempt - hope it's ok. lol...

Just doing a quick check-in; I'll go back and read everyone's afternoon posts later. I've not actually been scrapping (or organizing!), but I have been USING my BigKick to cut out titles for the gift sb that I'm working on. I'm going to post a couple of photos of the BK on my table and of the pile of titles. And we all know how much I suck at this techno-stuff...Hope everyone is getting lots done and having some fun. Yes again. They were all just sick what about a month ago. My kindergartner came home sick on Thursday, now kids 2 and 4 have it. Ridiculous!! Anyway, I finished 2 layouts from earlier, they were missing journaling, of course. And I did two additional layouts. I'll post them during the week on my blog and then link them back up here.

Cristi, let us know how the domestication, I mean meatloaf, turns out! LOL!

well, we ate, left-overs are put away, dishes are done, stove and counters are wiped-off. i think i did good. lol... he said it was good.

what i want to know is how you ladies manage your time well enough to do this everyday? lol... between grocery shopping and dinner, it took half the day and i still have to take a shower and pack lunches. lol...

he better be making darn-good money, if he wants this everyday.

obviously, though, if he's not working daylight, the whole deal's off.

Way to go Cristi! You can do it. Meatloaf sound yummy.

So I put away the mini(but not out of site, just off my workspace), had pics printed of the airsoft war a while ago but decided I would rather have them in B&W, so I reprinted them. I think the layout will be fairly simple and I can't come up with any cool journalling I could just give the facts but I really want something cool for the pics that they are. I so suck at journalling and titles.

Jen I am horrible with titles too. Journaling not so bad as long as I use my computer and type it all out! I am really considering getting a wide format printer when I do the extreme take-over. I print almost everything!

Crisann Dinner- after awhile it all becomes second nature. Peel the taters and put the water on -run back to scrapbook and adhere something -put meat in the oven and get potatoes going -run back to room to finish layout. Of course if you have children you will have to substitute run to change diaper instead of picking out embellishments. Oh and get a laptop makes peaing while cooking dinner much easier

I HAAAAAAATE journaling. With every fiber of my being. However, I do realize and understand how important it is. As I've gone back thru my older layouts I've forgotten dates on some of them and I can't remember the exact date of the photos. I can figure out the ballpark timeframe but thats not good enough for me. Maybe I have and OCD me, like Amanda, LOL!

As for dinner, I cook most nights but I don't cook every single night. There is no way in heck. And I do preplan and I use my crockpot a LOT. I hate standing over the stove babysitting dinner. I'd rather put it in a crockpot or the oven and let it do its thing.

Alright girls, I'm done for the night! "see" you all in the morning!

Thank You to my DD who came into the craft room and seeing the pictures just started rattling off some stuff that sounded like a news breaking story, so I grabbed a pen and started writing down what she was saying and it all came together really fast, she seemed to know where I wanted to head with titles and journalling. Two heads are definately better than one sometimes

Congrats on the meatloaf!!

Key here is the crockpot. ESPECIALLY at this time of the year! Ours is out at least twice a week and I always make enough for leftovers/to freeze. You'll pick up the tricks of the domestication soon enough

Mel - If you *need* to pick an exact date, just choose one in the vacinity. You won't remember down the road whether it was June 2nd or June 12th. Because I store my pictures by season, I usually just have season year. I'm OK with it for the random shots. I 99% have it on the calendar when we're going to my SIL's or a special birthday event or something so I can refer to those dates as well. Maybe check your calendar??

Susan, sorry, no opinions here. They have such high shipping charges (for me) that I do't want to get hooked!

Congrats on using your Big Kick Maria! Great organizing BTW.

OK, so a couple more pages from me while I watch the award show and then I'm off to bed. We're supposed to get a storm on Tuesday - should be fun.

alright, so here's my contribution to the world of scrapbooking today: just a girl.

what a day... but i got alot done, so that's a plus. guess i have to work harder next week to stay ahead of him. lol... that way, when he throws me a curve ball, it doesn't mess up "my studio day." - grocery shopping and dinner weren't too high on my priority list today.

Thankfully this will be an easy week for me. I got a slice for Christmas, but I've yet to open it. I only have the one cartridge that came with it.

QOtW - Right now, I prefer my letter stickers. We'll see if my opinion changes after I get a chance to play with my slice.

I totally missed pens week last week. Dh was in Rhode Island all week and it was just crazy here. I'm trying to coordinate repairs in our house in GA that we are trying to sell. Our renters just moved out and now we've got it back on the market.

OK! Here I am better late than never!
Goodness, all my children were needy (and I mean my biggest...DH!. So Today, I brewed 10 gallons of beer from scratch, made lunches, and a from scratch Steak, mashed potatoes and gravy dinner! (oh, and worked with middle child on reading, writing and scrapbooking).
Layout I completed today- Oldest's 12th b-day which I fonished at 9pm...just so that I could say that I got it done!

PS I am going to hurt my middle child if he keeps trying to run the ATG gun both towards and away from himself...seriously!

Crisann - love the layout!

Leisa - try your SLICE. What are you waiting for? Die cutting is fun!

Amanda-OMGosh you are too funny! And what you did all that and a layout! My DH was needy this weekend too but I have just him! As for DS and the ATG gun I removed ATG gun from DD's reach many years ago. She still cannot find it. You are a really nice Mom and must have OCD me under control because you let Girl Friday use Glimmer Mist and DS use the ATG gun no way I would have been able to do that. Haven't looked at layout yet forgot to click on link -will now!

Kris -purple is still not done and thanks for the advice on Papertrey Ink although I might order some ribbon and twine. My journaling stamps will probably be from Technique Tuesday not sure yet!

Have a great day! I will be pea-king from work!

Susan - I have heard around here that PI shipping to the US is OK. Free after $50 purchase sounds familiar. It's just one of those places that isn't "Canada friendly" for shipping

Amanda - Sounds like you really had a productive day as well!

I'll be in an out a little today. I have another meeting this morning so we'll see how it goes.

Is anyone else expecting the mother of all storms tomorrow??

QOTW-- I prefer my letter stickers especially my Thickers to using my Cricut machine. Much easier than trying to figure out font size, etc.

This is an easy week for me because I've never had a die cut machine such as a sizzix. I only have a Cricut and 4 carts.

I only made one layout this weekend and still need to do the journaling on it. I spent most of my time on Sunday preparing for my classes this week. I would have rather spent my time scrapping with all of you!

Kris- Yes, the mother lode of snow is due to hit here Tuesday night into Wednesday. We're only going to get 2-3 inches supposedly tonight into tomorrow, then BAM, it's suppose to come thru like a freight train. High winds, drifting, and 15+ inches. I figure, we are due. It has been a relatively mild winter, so far. Thinking of stopping at my LSS to rent some cartridges to play with the next few days.

Amanda- ROFLOL, at middle child playing back & forth with your ATG.

Leisa- OPEN the Slice!! I say this with all the love in the world, because I know how pretty it is just sitting unopened. I had the same thing going on when I first got my baby bug. It was in the box 6 months before my BFF took it to her house and opened it for me. So, if you need to, send it my way, and I'll open it

Cristi- YUM, Meatloaf!! Any leftovers? I'm starvin' this morning.
Mel- how's your little guy doing?

Well, I'm off to the gym. Need to get my workout in, before the snowstorm hits.

Kris- good luck with the meeting today!

Susan-ATG tape is like my cheapest adhesive that actually sticks, so that is why I let them use it. Besides, Girl Friday figured it out in like 2 seconds. (I think it is a male DNA issue).

Good luck to those with snow in their futures. I am mildly jealous, but that is just because we have had rain since October...off to volunteer at Kindergarten today!

Lisa -where are you? I am in Upstate NY. We are getting 3-5 inches tomorrow and then the motherload on Wednesday. Of course I do not have a snow worthy car despite growing up on the coast in Massachusetts!

This morning life was against me. I always look forward to Mondays as me day( quiet, no kids or hubby, day to get stuff done day)well DS is home sick and hubby keeps popping in as he is working just off the yard today, so he comes to warm up every once and a while( can't blame him though, he's superman to be working out in this cold)but anyways my plan was to wash my floors today since I only have 2 days at home this week and he wants a party on Sunday for Super Bowl. I'm gone all day Saturday at work and my other day at home is Friday which the kids may or may not have school that day, ugh! I didn't get "Airsoft War" pages done so they will be put aside as Monday is my quilting day and I need to get moving on that one as it is a sample for the store I work at.So enough of my rambling we'll see what I get done today.

Everybody has great layouts, very inspiring! I've enjoyed looking at them.

Jen - I hope your day gets better!! i hate when you have a good, productive plan for the day and it all goes to pot for one reason or another.

Susan/Lisa - I stayed up late watching the (Buffalo) news last night. This storm should be a fun one I told DS that if school is open, he's going in a toboggan. I just hope it really starts well after I'm home - dinner with the girls this evening and I need a night out if I'm stuck at home for 2 days with DS

Amanda - Meeting went well. It was with an old friend, also with her own business that is really successul so I could ask her a bunch of newbie questions. We were in Starbucks for over 3 hours yapping and I don't think I'm sleeping tonight with all the caffeine I've had this morning

It must be a boy thing re the ATG. My DH can load it, but try to get him to use it, he always messes it up!

QOTW: For now I use letter stickers more because the only "die cutting" thing I have is the Cuttlebug Kids hand cranked one - I figured I could share it with my girls and it was all I could afford at the time. I've been thinking about saving up for a Slice. The dies for the Cuttle Kids are small and I store them in a clear flip top box from the kids area at IKEA.

I have a question for those of you that do a P365 - do you just keep up with it online or do you print them and do an album? I just decided to do one and I'm having a hard time coming up with how I want to present it ... 12x12 or 8.5x11 and if I should use those divided up page protectors or what .... any suggestions (or pictures of what you do) would be greatly appreciated

Oh, and as for the weather, it was in the 70's the last 2 days but tomorrow we are only supposed to be in the high 30's-low 40's and may get snow/sleet overnight. Gotta love central TX weather

Just enjoying the calm before the storm - the kids will be getting home in about an hour. I'm watching reruns of my favorite show - NCIS.

We are suppose to get snow here tomorrow with temps in the teens. I hope we get the snow, but I'm not holding my breath.

I know I need to open my Slice, but I'm always resistant to change. I'm sure that I'll love it. I'm putting off downloading my new digi software too. I guess I have a bit of ScrappinBee's PA me!

Mel - hope your boys get better soon.
