good afternoon, ladies!

this is it - the last week of round 3! can you believe it?

yes, i realize it's 3pm. s/o's still sleeping. lol... he goes back on 2nd shift next week.

i'm trying my hardest to use all this time to get through my backlog - mostly writing projects. hopefully, once i get caught up w/ that, i can move on to scrapbooking projects.

so, this week, we're working on room and space decor.

question of the week: what colors are you using in your room?

my room is pink/brown/black, mostly, with a little chrome here and there.

remember, next week round 4 starts. i expect everyone to be present and accounted for, at the very least, to chat. oh, and i also expect after pictures. lol...

happy organizing!

I can't believe we are all done with round 3! Thank goodness you are starting round 4, LOL!

My "colors" are white for furniture, and pink, green, and black accents.

After pictures huh?? OK, I have a slow week this week so I can get this done. The last two weeks have been so busy I didn't know if I was coming or going most of the time.

I remember looking forward to this week, not because it's the end, but for the chance to 'pretty it up' after being practical for so long. But right now, I have so much decluttering to do before any pretty things would be noticable, it's kinda discouraging.

Oh well, I still love my wall colours - a warm light grey with spring green accent walls. Furniture is wood/black. Don't really have a specific accent colour.

I have used some pretty glass dishes for desk storage, but they are buried at the moment and not making a lot of impact. Still need to put up an inspiration board. Well, I'll declutter today and tomorrow, see what it looks like then and go from there. I'm on a mission to have some after photos by the end of the week.

BTW - I will be back to chat/cheer on/organize next week!

I'm looking forward to spending some time in my room this week.

If I start today on the paper project, I'll hopefully be near completing all of it by the time 'paper week, round 4' is over.
Don't think I'll get in my room today...the boys are over watching basketball and I'm busy with snacks and kitchen duties.

My room is painted a cheery yellow (can't remember the exact name). The linen drawer cubbies are lime green and tropical blue...so it's kind of a tropical oasis in there, aside from the piles of papers and stuff everywhere. LOL
Hey, Amanda! Where's the cabana boy? LOL

Hoping to get some pages done this week, if I can find a moment...

WOW! I can't believe it is the last week already. And more than that I can't believe that I made it all the way through this year! YEAH!!

QOTW - My room is a big open shared space, so the walls will have to remain fairly neutral. Right now they are a faded, dingy, cream color. The whole house needs to be painted, but that probably won't happen for a while since we are still having to deal needed repairs on two houses.

I would really love to bring some lavender accents into my space. I have hung up a cork board that I had painted a light purple color to match my scrap space 2 houses ago. I love that color! I don't think dh would appreciate purple walls with the pool table though.

I have 3 clear 12x12 frames that I want to hang on one wall. They will hold my latest or favorite pages.

WOW! The last week!!! Room decor - hmmm....none! LOL! I have an ugly berber carpet on the floor which is mostly covered by my expedits and desk so I guess it is ok. The walls are off white but need painting. The curtains are cute but faded. They are blue and yellow balloon shades that were in my mother's kitchen. Until I can get the kids to move out my stuff I cannot change the carpet or paint!

As for picture---I had better clean up first!

Good morning. Week 29 - we made it! Again, thank you Cristi for leading us. Since I'm in the middle of a project right now, my room looks pretty cluttered with stacks of stuff on the floor that I'm using and my work table is a complete mess, but I'll try to do a clean-up to take an after picture or two.
QOTW: My walls are painted a med.sageish or woodland green, the carpet is a beige with different colored specks in it (not that you can actually SEE much of the carpet), and my work tables, chair, and plastic shelving are white. So far, the fabric storage cubes (from Target) are lime green, turquoise, and red. Honestly, there's not much room left for "decor"! I do have a grapevine wreath that I put together with pink flowers and green/white gingham ribbon on the wall. For now, I'm counting the jars of buttons and ribbons as decor! Oh, and I have 3 of those little decorative "suitcases" that hold ribbon too. And sometimes my cat Buster will visit me and sit in the window - can he be decor too?

Cristi, You poor girl - your schedule is just "out there" isn't it? Hopefully you will both adjust soon. I missed you last week! And I'm going to participate as much as I can in round 4. If they raise the price of my internet any more, I may be participating from the library!

Mel, Your room colors sound cheerful. You need cheerful with hubby gone! Hope everything is going OK for you all.

Lydia, I'm with you on the decluttering! Why is it so easy to pile things up? That's got to be the hardest part of organizing - keeping it neat.

Lisa, You and I both went for the lime green and blue cubes - I did add a red one (don't know why, just liked it) and plan on getting another blue one. Wish they were wide enuff for 12x12 paper.

Leisa, With your cream walls and lavendar accents, your area would be restful and classy. Sort of a Melissa Frances look.

Susan, Blue and yellow are so pretty together. I always wanted a blue, yellow, green, and pink room but with a son and 3 grandsons, I don't see one in the near future.

Hope everyone has a great day. Maria

I can't believe we are in the last week. Cristi, this has been so fun and I appreciate your hosting this challenge.

QOTW--My scraproom is painted taupe and my colors are black and red with a little green thrown in there, too. My furniture is a conglomeration of stuff that was either castoffs from other rooms or that I picked up over the years at Target and Michaels.

I still haven't found an office chair that I like for my room. I wanted a decorative chair that was comfortable but couldn't find one with good back support. I'm going to keep looking for that.

I'll post pictures of my room at the end of the week when I get it cleaned up!

daisymarie, if you have a container store nearby, take a look at their bungee cord chairs that r on sale this month. I'm still tempted! they are v. comfortable (not sure how they would be in shorts, but not something I subject people to v. often!).

my scrappy goals for 2012:
. finish all the bits and pieces on LOs which are missing a letter, or a picture needs to be reprinted, etc.
. finish up H's albums
. make an acrylic album
. finish my heritage albums
. sort Dad's genealogy stuff
. try to finish up the several albums that are started; label them; move them downstairs where they can be enjoyed
. make mini albums
. oh, yeah, get my [s]crap place organized & KEEP IT NEAT!

Well, I got nothing done sb-wise yesterday. It was so pretty outside that my grandson and I worked in the yard all afternoon. Then we went to the local ice-cream stand that just opened up again for the season. (Cherry slush for me and a dreamsicle smoothie for him.) Then supper, dishes, and the nite was gone. Maybe tonite. Hope you all are getting lots done! Maria

hi

This is a week that is always on hold for me, because I know a little of how I want my room to look but we are still waiting for house buying before I start making the changes I want so hopefully by this time next round I will get to do it.

QOTW: this is my biggest dilemma is to decide what color I'm going to make my room. Two peas blue or yellow, and then lately I'm attracted to bright pink damask.

hey ya'll!

did you ladies see the 15pg. thread that finally got pulled on nsbr? lol... that's been my entertainment for the last two nights, since s/o is working a screwy 3p-3a shift.

speaking of s/o, told him he'd better not wake me up when he comes home (4am is entirely too early for me)... well, i couldn't find him this morning when i woke up - he was downstairs on the couch. i felt so bad! i didn't realize he was going to take it so literally.

well, hope everyone is having fun!

i've been being lazy. lol... haven't been doing much of anything except reading/surfing/watching tv.

I went to Pier One today and found a chair I like. It's very cute and seems pretty comfortable. The store didn't have a new one in stock and the floor sample was banged up so I ordered one. It should be in next week.

I also worked a little on the closet in my scraproom. It doesn't look pretty and organized like some of the ones I've seen on this site but I don't have anymore room so it will probably stay like it is.

I sorted my metal embellishments by the color of the metal: gold, silver, and colors. I can't believe how much of it I have. I even have a package that looks like a window screen. Remember that? I'm going to try to incorporate more metal into my layouts.

Rescuing us from page 3!!!

No organizing happening here, unless you count finishing off some old UFO's as decluttering. I've finally caught the cold that everyone else around here has had. Ugh.

Hey Girls!
I made some cards this week and cleaned up a mess in my scrap area. Not much else has been accomplished.

I need to make a valance for my scrap area. I hope to accomplish that by this time next round, LOL!

Happy Friday everyone!!

I haven't gotten much of anything sb-related done this week (basketball - my bracket is officially dead now!), but I did cut out a few titles last nite for the next gift sb that I'll be working on. Today, I'm going to try to clean up my work table (sigh) and file my paper scraps before I begin that next one.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. And I'll try to keep up with round 4 - I think most of you all are right - it takes more than one round to finish! And a village...
Cristi, You have been so wonderful to host this and I've enjoyed getting to "know" you and everyone here. Thank you for putting up with all of us. Maria

Haven't done a thing. My pictures arrived from scrapbookpictures.com and are fabulous. But my album and supplies that I ordered from J's are still MIA!!! Two Peas was out of the type of page refills I ordered so I had to use J's price was great but shipping takes FOREVER! I am really tired of having to order online at this point.

My son is going to be moving to Maryland to go to med school so I am really thinking of taking his room over this summer. This would allow me to decorate as I like and to move everything I use up there. One bonus is that there is a HUGE closet! But DH says I should discuss this with my son -sigh. But in return I would redecorate my old room for him.

That is it for me. Going out with a friend and then to Ms with my 50% off coupon and may be over to HL - not sure about that though. Paper packs are 50% off and they have a couple of BG Basic lines which I love.

Have a great day decorating and scrapping!

I haven't gotten much done in my scrap room this week but am setting out this morning to do some more.

QOTW: We just put new cabinets in a couple of weeks ago, so I've been re-organizing everything as it goes into the "new" space. Cabinets are maple with a cider finish, with black hardware. Countertops are all black. I have an island craft table in the middle of my space with base cabinets and countertops to match the rest. In one corner, a desk with cabinets and bookshelves above (for my "real" work). And on the far wall, cabinets kind of set in to the wall: two pantry cabinets on either end, three base cabinets in the middle, with three bookshelf units on top. (I'll post pictures when I can find my camera cable...).

The bookshelves are virtually the only place where I have any "decorating" going on so far. I have cloth bins in them that are kind of an olive green; small drawer units from HL that are metal and wood, distressed. So accents so far are mostly green. There's a bit of a "primitive" theme going on with those drawer units, some other boxes, and a framed needlework above my window that says "Secret Haven" with some primitive stars on it.

I'm a little jealous of everyone who has color on their walls. My space is in one corner of our large open basement, so the color needs to stay rather neutral. The greens on my shelves echo a sage green paint color that we have in a recessed bar area on the other side of the basement, so there's some unity in all of this. But very blah walls over here!

Good morning Girls!
Here is the link to Week 29 on my blog. I know I skipped several weeks but since they didn't really apply I figure I'm forgiven! LOL!
And my goal for week 29 Round 4 is to have a valance up in my scrap area!
