good afternoon, ladies!

how is everyone? what's everyone been up to? this thread's been quiet lately.

last night, s/o and i went to the races - our new yard sponsored a race and a car, so i have all sorts of pictures/memorabilia - the schedule, pictures of the car we sponsored, pictures of all of us with the car/driver that won the race we sponsored - it was lots of fun... well, other than the fact that my head was pounding by the end of the night.

this week, we're organizing our crop supplies. i'm sitting out on this one - i don't do crops. although i am kind of thinking of starting to do page kits ahead of time - but just for convenience.

here's the link to wookiemouse's blog.

question of the week: do you go to crops? do you do page kits ahead of time to use at home?

happy organizing!

so, lately, i've been working on she art - yes, still... i like to work through things incredibly slowly - besides, w/ the new yard, i've been working 60ish hr. weeks, so...

signed up for she had three hearts as well. loving christy tomlinson. also, karen grunberg. anyone have a favorite scrapbooker - someone whose style you just love? those two ladies are mine. love both their styles.

not sure if i mentioned it or not, but i did finish soul restoration - waiting until the next time they offer it to sign up for soul restoration 2. i'm realizing that i do well w/ the classes that have a deadline - otherwise, my scrapbooking add - complete with impulsivity and procrastination kicks in - and i end up "in over my head."

hope everyone has a great week! not sure how much i'll get done this week. i already know i have a meeting monday night, so... this week's looking like the last few have - busy!

shortly here, i'm going shopping, but only because i need stuff for both yards, so... it's more of a work shopping trip - blah! but i am stopping at m's. lol... need more canvas and, i think, most of the scrapbooking stuff is on sale - 40% off.

If anyone needs totes for going to crops, I have a bunch for sale on the FSOT board here.

And, to encourage all of you to get organized, I will give one item away to one of you lucky organizers. All you need to do is to sell me on why you should get a free tote!

Please send me a peamail with your "pitch" and I will provide the list of items to the winner (chosen based on their pitch) and they can choose the item they want.

I hope the free item offer is an incentive to get yourselves organized - I can't wait to hear the pitches!

QOTW: Yes, I go to crops. Generally in the fall/winter, when I don't mind being away from the house in the less than nice weather. Once it is sunny and warm I like to be home, puttering around the house. As for page kits, they are an absolute MUST for me otherwise I get nothing done.

I will have to check out Wookiemouse's posts, I will be interested to see what she means by organizing crop supplies. Packing for a crop???

Crisann, what is she art/soul restoration? Are these classes?

Scrapinnbetty, that is very kind of you!

Have a good Monday

Good morning, everyone! This week will be a continuation of stamp organizing for me, since I don't do crops.

Just curious...does anyone else decide on one method of organizing and then change almost immediately?! I've done this twice during this challenge...once with my scraps and now with my stamps! The holders for my scrap organization ended up being too difficult to get into, so I changed to simple hanging file folders, which has been MUCH better. And now I thought I was going to put my stamps (all clear or cling mounted rubber) in page protectors in 3 ring binders. But then I read the thread about using a Clip It Up for stamps...and now I think I'm going to do that! I think that if they are out there for me to see, I'll use them more often.

Hope everyone has a great week!

Hey girls,
My computer crashed...hard. It's at the fix it shop. I'll be back when I either get it fixed or buy a new one.

I don't go to crops anymore. I would love to but I can't find any around here. And if I do go, I pack page kits. WAY too much stuff to drag it all with me now. I remember the good ole days when it all fit in a couple of totes, LOL!!!!

And Beth, yes, I change my mind about organization methods ALL the time. So you are not alone! You'll find something eventually that works for you.

steph - how generous of you!

nancy - yep, they're classes - christy tomlinson does she art and melody ross does soul restoration.

beth - yep, i'm indecisive... i'm always changing things around. i still spend more time organizing than creating. lol...

kris - hope your shoulder heals quickly!

vicki - i got an extension offer (to have access until the end of the year), which i paid for b/c i know i have a tendency to get side-tracked.

mel - hope you get your computer back soon!

so, i got sucked into the world of copics, finally - lol... bought a few at m's yesterday. i'm already eyeing the 72-packs of them.

hope everyone has a nice evening!

I REFUSE to go the Copics route -- famous last words, right???

my scrappy goals for 2012:
. finish all the bits and pieces on LOs which are missing a letter, or a picture needs to be reprinted, etc.
. finish up H's albums
. make an acrylic album
. finish my heritage albums
. sort Dad's genealogy stuff
. try to finish up the several albums that are started; label them; move them downstairs where they can be enjoyed
. make mini albums
. oh, yeah, get my [s]crap place organized & KEEP IT NEAT!

kris - you mean the cricut i still haven't even plugged-in, right?

i got a bunch of faber castell gelatos and big brush pens and i've actually been using them. i think it's just a matter of finding one's niche - i'm more into mixed media/art journaling than i am scrapbooking at this point.

p.s. - canvas was on sale at m's yesterday. lol...

Haha, Cristi, that makes two of us! I bought my first Copics on Thursday from someone on this board (and got them already!) and I am already up to 12! I SWORE I wouldn't do it...but then I saw that you can color brads, ribbon, rhinestones, etc. with them. And that was my justification! If I can color things to match my LOs, I'm all in!

OK, just so everyone knows how truly indecisive I am...I've gone back to the stamp binder idea! I started putting them on the Clip It Up and quickly decided I didn't like it. I better start thinking about next week...I've already talked myself in and out of several different ink/embossing powder storage solutions!

Hi girls! Sorry I made it to the party so late. My daughter, her friend and I were at Disneyland yesterday. Sooooo...now I am here to answer the
question of the week: do you go to crops? do you do page kits ahead of time to use at home?
I don't really do crops. I have gone to other places to scrap, but not really crops. And I guess I do page kits...I gather supplies to use in my layouts and mini-albums. They're not complete page kits, but they do have the paper, stickers, etc., that I might need to use.

Well, I guess that is all for now. I'm still pretty tired from yesterday, and I need to sleep.

Y'all have a good one!

beth - i'm only a few clicks away from a set of 72 copics. lol... i'm trying to, at the very least, wait until i get paid again.

i want some shiva artist paint sticks and pan pastels as well... thank goodness my birthday's in less than a month.

oh, and as far as indecisive - how about "indecision paralysis" - i still haven't touched my stamps - i have a few that are too big for cd cases, so i'm not sure what i want to do now.

nancy - is it working for you? lol...

you know what completely ticks me off? i bought a cricut, more or less, only b/c of mtc and scal and now, with all the lawsuits, there's not much point... i only have like 6 carts - if that.

kris - how's the shoulder? i feel for ya - and i miss talking to ya!

oh, i.so.cannot.wait until christy tomlinson's she had three hearts art journaling workshop starts - july 25.

have a nice day ladies!

QOTW-Do you go to crops? I used to very frequently go to crops when I first started scrapping (1998) until about 5 years ago. My depression got seriously bad at that point, and I haven't been to a crop since. Right now it's better, but I prefer cropping alone in peace and quiet.

Did/do I make page kits? Usually not, my style of scrapping is theme albums, so I just took what I needed for that album.

So happy this is a week off for me. I am still working on my stamp organization (and will for several weeks, maybe months-hopefully not). I'm still at the organizing stage and then will move on to creating a stamp log of all of my images. Lots to do. Too many stamps. But I love them so. See you next week.

Debbie in MD.

Kris that sucks rocks. I hope it heals quick for you.

I worked on my idea binders this morning. I had a bunch of random items ripped out of some magazines that needed a home. I'm also in the debate stage of taking apart all of my AD sketch books. To consolidate or not!!!!

Have a great day everyone!

Cristi, I think you should sell the cricut and get a Silhouette! Seriously, it is my favorite thing in the world after my DH and kids!! The software is SO easy to learn and it's so much fun to create with!

Kris, I sure hope you heal quickly...in a sling all summer would suck!

Speaking of suck...work has SUPER sucked this week! I'm so wiped out when I get home I just sit around and veg. So I'm not getting a whole lot done! YAY for a long weekend!

Well, I still haven't bought any copics yet... but going to my LSS tonight for some paper supplies...

Kris74, sorry about your shoulder/arm. But I guess now you will be ambidextruous {that doesn't look like its spelled correctly}

birukitty, you must have alot of stamps! That is a great idea, but I've yet to do any stamp organization like that other that gather them all together in one basket.

cherrypicker, some nights I too am tired from work, but that's a simple thing to do... and certainly productive so I am ready to go when the mood strikes.

Hey everyone have a great, safe and happy long July 4th weekend

Kris- sorry about your shoulder!

Love my copics!

Scrappinbetty-While inner hoarder would love more stuff, We have too much here already!

As for crops, as my kids get older, I find that I have less time to escape to a crop. The weekends are too busy!

QOTW - Yes, I go to crops - as often as there are some! one every other month with a local CM, one 100 miles away about 4x a year, and a crop weekend in March.

I have a pencil box tool kit always ready to go, containing scissors, pens, adhesive remover, tiny ruler, SU pad & mat for punching holes with a push pin, pencil & eraser, spare snail adhesive. I take my atg gun and it's stand if lots of dry adhesive is needed. Always either kit pages or a 'project' that is a finite set of coordinated "Stuff".

Last crop it was a Button Farm recipe book chipboard album. All I needed besides the kit was scissors, paper trimmer, brush and paste, file, and an ink pad. I took a brayer too, but it broke on the first page, so I pitched that and pressed stuff flat the old fashioned way - by hand.

Next crop, it will be another chip board album - "the bride's little book of pre-wedding memories" - her colors are navy & yellow, so i've had to make my own printed paper with stamps. The plan is to have all the papers stamped and cut to size, titles cut and on xyron strips. All I'll need - brush & paste, cup for water, scissors, corner rounder, ink or paint for the edges, ink pad, ruler, alphabet stamps, embellishments, basic tool kit.

Unlike WookieMouse, I can't journal at crops. That requires thinking! Most of the time I'm solitary (retired) so at crops, I want to do manual stuff, and spend my brain power talking with my friends.
