Hello! I am glad to see your internet is back up and running. I hope your week end is going well. We're just hanging around, enjoying the lazy week end. And it's pretty hot here in San D. So, on to the
question of the week: how are you feeling about the progress you've made?

I feel pretty good. Most of my stuff is fairly well organized. Because of the way my shelves are installed, I use photo storage boxes to store most of my supplies. I like how it looks, and it helps to keep my stash to a reasonable amount. I have really enjoyed participating in this challenge, and I have learned a lot from the other members.

As for my inks and ink pads....they are stored in the aforementioned photo boxes. I keep my ink pads stored upside down with my acrylic blocks. My embossing supplies are stored on a shelf. I only have about 8 bottles of embossing powder, so I don't need a lot of space.

Ok. So that is all for now. I am going to go hang out with my family and enjoy the rest of my three day week end!

Y'all have a Happy Fourth of July!!

You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can't take Texas out of the girl.

so, i've decided that if wookiemouse ever creates a whole house version of this challenge, i'm in. lol...

that's what i've been up to this weekend - very, very slowly over-hauling our bedroom... i'm seriously struggling w/ my books. eh, i still have books from when i was 15ish. i started w/ several piles - all the scrapbooking/mixed media/art journaling/jewelry books are back in my studio. my favorite memoirs are in my studio - up on a high shelf... i packed away one box full (for now), and made one pile to donate. i still have one 3-shelf bookcase that are the: do i want them? do i want them out? not sure yet...

still have to vacuum and dust...

completely cleaned my studio as well - vacuumned and dusted everything and put everything away.

the upstairs usually isn't too bad - the upstairs collects the clutter, though, b/c we mostly live up here. the downstairs is what i'm dreading - half-gutted and a complete disaster. lol...

what's everyone else up to? hope everyone is having a happy 4th of july!

Hey, everyone! Did you all have a fun weekend?! It was nice and relaxing for the most part (had a bad case of food poisoning on Friday night...NOT fun!).

QOTW: I think I'm doing great on this challenge! Finally got the last of my stamp binder organized, just haven't gotten around to taking pics for my blog. And I've actually worked a little ahead on some things (like throwing out a ton of old pens and markers that didn't work any more!). Started working on creating a small binder to catalogue all of my ink pads, pens, stickles, etc. I found some great inventory sheets, but all of them seem to be 8.5 X 11, and I would like a smaller binder that I could throw in my purse when I'm shopping so I don't buy duplicates. So I may have to create my own templates.

Have a great short week!

QOTW: ho hum. I think that it is the summer month thing that gets us less motivated...or me anyways. That and 3 extra people in the house!

As for inks...am definately thinking inking and what to do with all my off brand inks. Until this year it has all been CTMH or SU (and I have both of those towers full). Now I have stazon, and momento (for copics) and tim holtz (just because)... what is an OCD ink hoarder yo do!?

Hey girls,
Just got back from the out-laws. I went up to my scrap area to dump a bunch of scrappy stuff DH's aunt gave to me. I'm going to wind up donating most of it.

I feel great with my progress. I think I have a better handle on things now and how I scrap. I'm taking the SG sketch class for the next 5 weeks so hopefully I'll be able to further streamline my stuff.

I'm good with ink and embossing. I don't have or do alot of embossing so they are in a drawer that is kind of out of the way. My inks sit on my desk since I use them ALL the time! My problem now is that I'm outgrowing it. I'm not sure what to do. I don't want to make another one and I'm sure as heck not getting rid of anything, LOL!
Have a great rest of the week ladies!!

But inks and embossing are good so I guess it's a week off

Embossing stuff I keep all my little jars in an old Christmas card box. (I usually only emboss my Christmas cards, yet I have probably 30 little jars).

Inks I keep in a couple of places. DH made me a ink/stamp set holder, so the majority of them are in there. The rest are in my plastc drawers. I mainly have SU, Staz On and Distress Inks, with a few random ones here and there tossed in for good measure.

I hear you Amanda re being less (scrappy) motivated to do stuff ... I haven't been near my room in WEEKS. This shoulder isn't helping that either - no desire to scrap at ALL!

Speaking of my shoulder, I have an appt with the fracture clinic in the morning so wish me luck that I can lose my sling and start physio so I can get at least some swimming in this summer!

Kris- crossing my fingers that you get the ok to lose the sling and get to some swimming sometime this summer!

Well, I've got inkpads and embossing stuff all tucked away in an Iris container. Very convenient for my SU and CTMH stuff. The small Colorbox cats eyes are a bit of a challenge to organize...right now, they are in an old makeup case that has pull out drawers. If I buy any more of those, I'll have to up-size.

I think once FALL gets here, I'll be ready to go back to Week 3 and really tackle this challenge.

Kris-hope your shoulder gets out of that sling ASAP! It must be so frustrating. Keep thinking positively and hopefully things will get better very soon.

QOTW-How are you feeling about the progress you've made? Fantastic! I'm the type of person who likes everything neat and tidy, and I have a terrible habit of a room (scraproom) looking neat and tidy while hiding everything in closets packed to the gills in absolute chaos. That was how I started this challenge. I've been scrapping for 12 years so I have accumulated lots of stuff. This challenge is forcing me to get in there, sort through everything and get it organized.

Another bonus for me is that 2 years ago I had to undergo some medical treatments that resulted in memory loss. It's been so surprising to open a drawer (ink pad drawer) and be surprised to discover how many inks I had, or to look through some memorabilia and realize I did go see "Phantom of the Opera", I just didn't remember it. That has been such fun!

On to this week's challenge-I have all of my inks sorted and organized in an Iris plastic drawer thingy. What I REALLY want to do is take each ink, stamp it with a small stamp and make an inventory of my colors. I will start that this week (still working on my stamps) and see how it goes.

And Lisa, I hear ya!! I'm thinking I'll get back to organizing in the fall.

Thanks Kris. It's been a lot of fun. And organizing everything is really going to help me find things a lot easier.

Sorry to hear you still have to wear your sling. Hopefully next week it can come off.

Take care,

Tubing sounds like fun Cristi

I'm getting to move my arm around a bit more based on what the surgeon at the fracture clinic told me on Thursday. Some moves I can do no problem, others I can barely move my arm - it's so strange how your shoulder moves.

I was flipping through a sketch book I recently bought and I *think* I might just be inspired enough to scrapbook a little today ... or at least spend some time in my room and "putter".

Have a great weekend ladies!!
