I was one of the first ones to buy this paper cutter based on the wonderful posts here. I didn't regret it until now. I am having a problem and wondered if anyone else was experiencing this. There is a nick in the metal cutting guide that causes my blade to catch each time I pull it towards me to cut the paper. Does not seem to happen as much on the way up.

And recently, my blade "jumped" the track...came up onto the metal guide and got really stuck. Not at all sure how this happened. I struggled to release it and it is now back in place. The guide has marks on top but that does not seem to affect the cutting worse than the original nick on the side which makes it impossible to use.

I have emailed them twice with no response. I see the website is still up so assume they are still in business. Has anyone else had this or a similar experience? I really loved this product and am so disappointed.

My only issue is that it does not cut nearly as clean as my 10 yr. old Fiskars trimmer. I had read the reviews and info about how it would start to cut cleaner over time. It is better than when I first got it but it does not give a crisp clean cut. I had hoped I would see a bigger difference by now.

I hope you hear back from them. They were pretty vocal and on the ball with customer service when all the posts were on the boards here.

Mine is working very well also. No problems at all. I just emailed them about the ruler fix (thought I wouldn't need it and decided I did)and I received an email and the ruler overlay all in a 5 day period.

Thanks, ladies. Glad to know yours are working well. I did get a ruler and it made a big difference. They were responsive at that time. Maybe they're on vacation? Hoping I can get it fixed as I love this cutter....just not right now!

I had bought my cutter when they first started selling them (at $49). I got a bad cutter...it cut really ragged edges. Here is my experience with them.

It took about a month to exchange the cutter. When I first contacted them they we're pretty quick to respond. They had me play with it for a while to see if the cuts would improve, when they didn't they decided to exchange the cutter. We did email back and forth for a while before they decided to send me out a new one. Some emails they responded to quickly (with 24 hours) others it took a few days. When they decided to send me a new cutter it seemed to take a long time for their shipping dept. to contact me...they had me mail back the bad cutter(at their expense) before them sent me out a new one.

Sorry they are taking so long to respond...I know how frustrating it is. There were times I was really frustrated dealing with them...just because it took so long for everything...but I am very happy now with my cutter.

Just wanted to add that they we're very nice about the whole thing. Just didn't want it to seem like I had a terrible experience with them...I didn't, it just took a long time. HTH

In the past I've had quick response from their c/s.

My biggest issue with the Cutterpillar is the cutter
doesn't cut as smooth as I'd hope. While I've used it
quite a bit, it continues to have unclean edges.

I'm in agreement with mjfc/Michele's post. My fiskars
trimmer cuts smoother and I purchased it in 1996. It became
impossible to find the blade and cutting strip replacements.

I hope your issues are resolved soon.

ETA: I don't regret the purchase and the price was great at $49.00

This is my story as well. I don't regret the purchase--I didn't have the smoothest cuts with my previous trimmer and now at least I don't have to buy blade refills constantly--but I wish the comment about it cutting more cleanly over time were true for me. It hasn't been.
