WELCOME TO THE MAY 2012 CALENDAR GIRLS THREAD!!! Looking forward to a month filled with pleasant weather, flowers and thoughts of our mothers

May has so many fabulous things to offer...flowers, more sunshine, the Indy 500, Memorial Day cookouts, graduations, Mother's Day and the ever-important National Scrapbook Day. This month is full of opportunities to spend time with those that we love and to take plenty of photos to scrap at a later date.

We are so glad that you joined us this month and hope that you will feel free to participate with the Calendar Girls, we love sharing our hobby and lives with new friends. We now have 8 challenges each month: The Scraplift Challenge, the Sketch Challenge, the Card Challenge, a Calendar Challenge, the BOS or Bookmarks Challenge, the Recipe Challenge, the Stash Challenge and the Digi Challenge. We are excited about our new format and this is going to be such a great year! Here are this months' challenges:

HERE ARE THIS MONTH'S CHALLENGES

SCRAPLIFT CHALLENGE - by Jan
******************************
For May, we are lifting Monica B's "Take me for a ride" LO. I've had it saved to my desktop forever so that I could scraplift it. You can either lift it or use any of her cute elements to inspire your page. Happy Scraplifting!!!

SKETCH CHALLENGE - by Toni
****************************
Please use one of the following sketches as inspiration:

CARD CHALLENGE - by Linda
****************************

Make a Mother's Day card and send it to your Mom. If she is in heaven, make a spring card and mail it or give it to someone special to you. Here are some examples:

CALENDAR CHALLENGE - by Wanda
******************************
Use border punches to add a fun edge to your LO and/or to your photo mats.

BOOKMARKS CHALLENGE - by Theresa
*********************************

The object of this challenge is to use the layouts that you've been adding to your Bookmarks. You know that you liked them, but how often do you remember to use them as inspiration to make your own?

For this month's challenge, go to the 5th row in your Bookmarks and use any of the three images as your inspiration. Have fun with this month's challenge!

A very important part of this challenge is that you should send a message to the Pea that inspired you. It will brighten their day! Also, add a link to their LO in the information section or the comment section. Please be very specific about identifying that you lifted that Pea, we don't want to have any hurt feelings by not giving credit where credit is due.

DOUBLE RECIPE CHALLENGE - by Diana
***********************************

Let's scrap a recipe for any kind of salad. Here is the double recipe challenge:

1. Use green on your LO.

2. Use 3 embellishments.

3. Use one ribbon.

4. Use 3 different papers. Here is the example by Diana:

When you are done, please be sure to sign and date your page and please upload your recipe to our Snapfish account, we will all be able to print a recipe book at the end of the year. The e-mail is : calendargirls2011@gmail.com and the password is recipe2011 and then upload into the recipe album. Don't forget to link your LO to the CG thread!

STASH CHALLENGE - by Monica B.
*******************************
The focus of this month's challenge is KITS! I have been focused on using up the kits that I have from my kit club, and I encourage you to do the same! If you don't belong to a kit club, it can be a collection kit, album kit, card kit, digi kit or page kits you made up yourself. Just get some use out of those kits.

DIGI CHALLENGE - by Debi
******************************
Okay, so I'm going to make the digi challenge easy this month...can you say scraplift? I have over 1000 digital layouts posted, so dig deep, find one of my (Debikins) LO's that you like you like and lift it. Let us know what inspiration you took from it, yours can be digi or paper, although you get bonus points for doing a digi LO. And, because it's May, use flowers on your LO.

For those of us who need more inspiration or having some praising to do, here is The Link to the last page of the April 2012 CG thread.

Hey ladies,

I got the new thread up, but Photobucket and 2 Peas aren't playing nicely together tonight, so the photos won't resize. I'll try to fix the pics that are too big tomorrow.

Have a happy evening!

I just thought this sketch was kind of fun...that's the reason I picked three this month...more of a choice.

a fun sketch from Sketch Inspiration

I sure hope these come out....
thanks for doing this, Tina...I know how busy you are, and when it doesn't work right, it's frustrating.

I think it is.

yay for a new thread! I love the purple flowers!

aww, fun to see that layout as the Scraplift challenge. I love that picture of my dad Thanks for picking my layout!

I'm loving all of the challenges... can't wait to get started! And I plan on REALLY keeping up with the thread & praising this month

Tina - I bet Wanda didn't send you a Calendar challenge since she's so busy, huh? I would offer to find one, but I just got rid of all of my old calendars! oh, about Skype - we just do the text chat, not video. It gets too crazy when you have a lot of people on video, plus Skype doesn't do well with more than 2 videos at a time. So it would be easy for you to figure it out! I will set up our group and you can just click on that convo on your left toolbar and start typing.

Toni - Thanks for all the choices of sketches! I really like the last one you posted... it does look fun!

okay, off to bed! My friend is going with me in the morning to pick out new glasses. yippee!

morning girls -

Monica B - glad you like that sketch. I might try to skype for a few minutes on Sat. before I go to work at J's - I just need to find out from Kevin what I need to do; it's already on my computer. Love that LO of yours to lift, too...just adorable.

Tina - I kind of like Wanda's challenge from April/May, especially since I didn't really get to it in April

I did do the SL challenge from April but my scanner is really giving me a hard time.

Anyway, I'm off....

Hi ladies!

Toni - I got the sketches to work. That Allison Davis sketch was locked down, I thought I had it fixed, but it wouldn't let me save change to the format on it. I really like the sketches you chose this month, they are fun...I'll be doing those.

Nylene - You are observant. Wanda sent me the same challenge this month, I'm thinking she probably grabbed the wrong photo. I emailed her last night, so I'll change it when she gets it to me. I know that she's at Linda's, so it might take a minute...but you get bonus points for noticing. (I wanted to leave the formatting in, so I didn't delete it.)

I'm headed back to work today. I had a nice day of catching up and doing a little scrapping yesterday. We have Olivia's senior banquet tonight with the show choir, it seems like there are an awful lot of goodbyes to be done before she leaves high school. After her final performance last week, we got home and Mallory was sobbing, it's starting to become real to her that O is about to leave home and they are really close. Thankfully, the school that she's going to is only a little over an hour away, so we might get to see her occasionally, if she doesn't kick us to the curb.

Have a happy day ladies!

Tina

Good morning, CalendarPeas, and happy May!

I am *back*!! I know I missed most of April. And I don't think I completed one single LO. (I did start a couple, but they are languishing on my main work table.)

I finally, FINALLY finished my nieces wedding invitations. WHAT a nightmare that turned out to be!! The first disaster was that I could not get the die (custom created by Lifestyle Crafts) for the RSVP card to print using the tools from LS Crafts and my Vagabond. The invitations printed just fine, but the RSVPs just would not work. I finally had to take it to a professional printer and have the wording printed. (Cost me $100!!!) The second disaster was that my niece sent me the wrong zip code when she sent all the info. And she even proof read everything TWICE before we sent it to have the die cut. Anyway...it's over now and they look amazing.

One other reason I have not had time to scrap...I have been exercising 6 days a week. I spent a week researching and considering the HCG diet and I suddenly realized that if I was willing to torture myself all day long by eating only 500 calories a day (for 6 weeks!), then I should be willing to torture myself by working out for 30 to 45 minutes and then I can eat twice as much! LOL Anyway, its working. I am eating more than 1000 calories, but I am exercising at least once a day for 30 minutes. I feel *great* but again, it's been taking up what little extra time I had.

SO...now that the invites are done, I believe I can work out *and* scrap in May.

This month's challenges look great, Tina and I am hoping to complete them all.

I did not keep up with the April thread towards the end of the month, so I feel as though I've probably missed vital info. I'll go back and catch up.

In the mean time, hello ALL OF YOU. I hope you are well, I've missed you, and I look forward to catching up with you all.

Happy May Ladies!

Tina thanks for posting the challenges this month. I'm hoping to get my mojo going and get them done.

Barbara, wow good for you excercising 6 days a week. I keep telling myself I need to, but I can't get my rear off the couch. I did manage to do some yoga twice last month . I have no excuse since the girls are in school all morning.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Tuesday.

BARBARA nice to see you back. Kudos for you for exercising. It seems getting OFF the couch is my exercise these days with my bad knee making it almost near impossible to walk let alone exercise, but it's doing better so I increase my activity when I can (usually in the form of cleaning house)--which believe me needs it more than my waist size at the moment-LOL.

We will have cool, breezy, sprinkly and some sun today and through the end of the week, although the weekend looks promising. The boys have Assessment testing this week (writing today-their least favorite piece). I just hope they write legibly as both my boys refuse to take the time to improve their writing.

The volunteer place sent out an invite to apply for the A+ training yesterday supposedly starting 5/12 and going for 8 weeks. I'm not sure what happened with their 1st class agreement with the Y but it appears to have fallen through. Cross your fingers that I get accepted in the first class--I think they are only taking 8 so I need to make my application stand out...any suggestions on how to stand out as a promising candidate? Since the class focuses mostly on desktops and I've been doing laptops I'm concerned I may be passed over.
I hate trying to sell myself. Anyway I will work on that later today. I'm going to drop by and see if I can volunteer today because I was under the assumption that it would be blocked due to the class that was supposed to be starting....of course there is no update addressing this so will just have to drop in and see what's up.

Gotta run and get something done before I have to leave. Have a good day! Happy May Day...give someone flowers today!

My first 2 May challenges done!

Hey girls I just checked the April thread and Wanda posted saying LINDA is having a rough time of it. I'm sure she'd love to see a shout out from us to help her through the next few painful days of recovery.

LINDA thinking of you and hoping you find some relief from the pain. Sleep as much as you can.

WANDA thanks so much for helping LINDA. What a special friend you are.

I'm surprised no one has posted today. I'm home now, after volunteering all day, and watching the craziness of people protesting downtown. I don't get it. I don't understand how hiding your faces, destroying property helps anything. So many people are willing to criticize but few actually step up and take responsibility for making the changes they want. Fortunately most of the group is being peaceful.

Kids head off to their dad's soon and then maybe I'll grab a bite to eat and take a hot shower to see if I can wake up. Probably didn't help that I stayed up til 1:30 a.m. and got up at 5:30 a.m. today.

The new assistant manager, who's very upbeat, but has only been in that role for a couple months left for a better job. Can't blame him but boy the whole atmosphere of the place went with him. It was so solemn today. I'm not sure the staff is enjoying working there and they certainly aren't making for a very pleasing environment for the volunteers. If I don't get into the class, I may severely reduce my volunteer time to focus on searching for a job.

Well not much else happening here. Drop a line when you can.

Evening all!

Took the Prius in today for it's first service. Had a nail in one of the tires (think I picked it up last week when I got the tiarras and sashes from my friend who is doing a major home addition). They said I needed a new tire, out $148. Not a happy camper. Really think they could have removed the tire and patched it. It didn't go all the way through the rubber, went in sideways. Anyway, made them give me the old tire and I'm going to take it to the regular place I buy tires and have them look at it. If they cheated me I'm taking the new one back!

May have some changes at work soon. New doc isn't working out. Really hoping he decides to leave. Long boring story but he hasn't helped our practice at all, just caused more problems.

Came home to find my brother finally came over and trimmed the Mulberry Tree for me. Had a HUGE branch hanging over my driveway which totally covered my cars. Not my stupid tree but I've had to keep it trimmed on my side of the yard for the last 10 years so it might as well be. Obviously I didn't trim it soon enough or it wouldn't have grown so big over the driveway! My neighbor and his wife split up so they both moved out. I had him cut the branch before anyone else moved in.

Wanda, Linda may not have a good appetite because of all the meds she's taken. Just make her drink but do remind her she has to have nutrients for her incision to heal. Try small meals.

Debi, good luck on getting in to the program.

Tina, so understand the crazy emotions Mal is having over O going to college. It'll probably hit you hard soon too. At least she'll be close though and that will help.

Barbara, bummer about the mess up and expense with the invitations. Super sweet of you to make them for her though.

OK, off to watch TV for a bit with Randy.

Hi ladies, Tina thanks for the new thread, Great challenges ladies. I hope to scrap more this month, specially I so want to play with paper again.

Barbara..nice to see you, hope you can play with us and we can see pictures of those beautiful girls.

Debbie...Daniel did the A+ last year but they did it in 4 weeks however he has yet to take the test and is all free but it's a boy thing. He just told me yesterday that he was signing up for the test next week. His sleeping now or I would ask him.

Linda i'm thinking about you, hope you are doing better. Continue prayers. (((HUGS))) Wanda prayers to you too my friend.

Daniel just begged me to let him stay home tomorrow because he is to tired to study for his Calculus test and he has to get a A. Of course I told him ok but to go to his father's house because if Stan finds out all hell is going to break loose. His father told me he is making sure he spends the day studying for it.

K ladies have a wonderful evening.

Joey was home today- fever has spiked to 103. It's a viral thing running it's course through school. He just looks miserable. I know he's not feeling good because he's not talking. LOL.
Felt like I spent today in paperwork h*ll- but yet it's not done. is it ever??

Can I ask for prayers for my Grandpa- they think he had a heart attack- my mom is with him now at the ICU. high heart enzymes and kidney numbers- it's been 2 1/2 weeks since Granny died- I knew his heart wouldn't hold out long, being so broken in losing her, but sure is hard on family if they were to lose him so soon. Praying God's will be done.

omgosh, I can't believe I lost my whole post....ugh. Because they changed the place where they keep our information...ugh...

Anyway...I had a message to Tammy, Tina, Diana, Monica B, Linda, Wanda,
Barbara, Sisline and Theresa...you're all in my thoughts and prayers.
Too tired to try to remember everything I wrote now. sigh...too old, and just got overwhelmingly tired, so I need to go lay down.

This is my lift of Jennifer from last month to use three photos:
up, up and away ... finally got it to scan.

Here is my lift of Monica B's cute, cute page for this month:

Tammy prayers sent for your Grandpa as well as the family and medical staff there taking care of him. Hoping they can just adjust the electrolytes and get him back on his feet. He's probably been grieving so much he hasn't eaten.

Speaking of that, Linda, if you don't eat you could end up back in the hospital!

Tammy, also saying prayers that Joey is better today and that he hasn't shared with the rest of you!

Randy elbowed me at 1:30 this morning and I haven't slept worth a darn the rest of the night. Going to be a LONG day! Headed for the shower, should have already been in there.

Have a great Hump day all!!!!

Hello! I'm still alive - just busy and on to other things. I doubt I'll be on this month. My thoughts are with you all.

Tammy, I'm keeping your grandpa in my prayers. I know you and your family must be hurting still from you Grandma's death and now this. Hugs.

Wanda, I ate nothing for the first 5 days and then hardly anything the first month. The after effects of the anesthesia and the pain killers did in my appetite. Make sure she eats high nutrition food and lots of liquids. Also make her work through the pain on the exercises and make sure she stays ahead of the pain with the painkillers.

Everyone have a good day.

Good Morning ladies!

It's supposed to be in the 80's here for the rest of this week...which is crazy for this time of the year, but I'll take it. O's senior banquet was great last night. Her choir director said some really sweet things about her, he's a really nice guy. A bunch of her under classman friends bought her a laundry basket full of goodies that she'll need for college, which was really sweet of them.

Tammy - I'll pray for your Grandpa. I'm sure that it would be really hard to lose them together, even if that's what they prefer. Hugs to you and your family.

Wanda - Tell Linda that I'm thinking about her. I should make her one of my crappy cards and send it to her. I'm a miserably bad card maker, but I'll get one put together and out. You are a great friend for caring for her. Hugs to you too.

Well, I have a meeting this am, so I have to get moving. Have a happy humpday!

Tina

Good morning ladies,

Wanda tell Linda i'm sending prayers to her. Listen to what Jan said, make her work through the pain.

Tammy..Prayers for your grandpa, it's so hard to loose your life long partner, hope he gets better soon. (((HUGS))) Hope Joey kick this bug fast.

Debbie...He got it through school, his HS offers IT courses, both in programming and networking, they are offer through cisco systems, Cisco pays for 20 students each year to take the course and it pays for the test also. If this kid only knew how great of an opportunity he has. He also is Cisco certified (don't know in what) and this year he is doing JAVA and C++. Hopefully this will help him get a good partime job in Orlando, the School has a partnership with over 100 Companies that hire their IT student. Hope one hires him. He is applying at Disney and Lockhee Martin, Wtr and Swr. He has experience working with the IT department in Miami-Dade County which is one of the largest in the nation, that internship will open a lot of doors for him.

Tina...Did O decide where she will be going? It's not an easy decision. Did she have her prom yet? I think I'm more excited about prom than he is. LOL.

Jan...Hope we don't loose you for long. Take care

got to go have a wonderful day.

Fixed myself a "big" breakfast this morning, so now to get moving and use up those calories being productive. Lots of paperwork to do today (my least favorite thing) so cracking the whip and hoping to get it handled, well at least the most important part of it.

JAN nice to see you. Drop in and keep us updated on what is happening in your life even if you aren't scrapping.

DIANA what a great program. I wonder which of our high schools might offer that option? I'm thinking IT is the way to go, but wondering at my advanced age if I have a shot against all the youngens who seem to be born with the knowledge. PS I spell my name DEBI...less typing than Debbie. LOL

TERESA hope you find a time to catch a nap today.

Ok I'm off and running...well hobbling, but off.

Debi

Hi Calendar Pea Pals!

Linda and Wanda, still have you both in my prayers. Those first few days at home are so difficult. I had a hard time getting food in DH. He was just too miserable to eat. Hugs to both of you.

Theresa, glad you got the bush trimmed. I have an overgrown forest of stuff in my backyard that needs attention. Neighbors have quaking aspen which are like tree-weeds. They grow clear up to my house. If the lawnmower didn't mow them down, I'd have a total forest.

Barbara, so nice to see you. Sounds like your wedding announcements were a pain, but I'm sure they were beautiful and appreciated. Can't wait to see some pages about your darlings.

Jan, sorry you are so busy right now. Pop in if you can. It's nice to see your smiling face and keep up with the grands.

Tina, the last month of Senior year is always so crazy. Lots of fun activities, but just plain crazy!! Hope Mallory will be OK. When my son left the States for a 2 year mission I thought my youngest DD would fall apart. It was really hard for her at first.

Tammy, sorry about Joey's fever. Hope he's up and chatting away soon. You and your grandpa are in my prayers. My dad quit eating after mom died and lost tons of weight, which affected his balance. It was about 6 months before he really came out of it. I can imagine how hard it is to lose your lifetime mate.

Debi, I hope you get the class. Sounds like someone needs to take charge at that place. Maybe they should hire you to be the one to run it.

Diana, good luck with all the Senior events Daniel will be having. How great that he's had such good IT training. Hug your girls for me and Em.(and Ashley and Alyssa)

Valerie, how old are your girls? Glad you got most of the car stuff done.

Toni, I hate to see you working so hard that you are wearing yourself out. I love the papers you used on your layouts. Do you just watch for great collections at J's. You always have unique paper.

Going shopping for mulch and tomato plants. I'll check back later in the week.

Happy May everyone!
One week down at the Trading Post. Not too bad for first week. We have so much work to do cleaning and arranging etc. Also took on another project helping with organizing a 30 mile garage/antique/etc. sale weekend. First time for the event so want to start out on the right foot.

Need to order some photos - any sales going on at Snap Fish or any other place?

Started a diet of sorts the first day we opened for the season. I'm not going to weigh myself for a month though. Also got a new bike and trying to work on building up my endurance and ride a little farther each time.

Jan - what's keeping you busy these days?
Toni - take care of yourself too
Tammy - prayer for your family and grandpa
Linda and Wanda - hang in there!
Those are what I remember for now. Love to everyone else!

Debi, LOL over me getting a nap in! I leave the house at 7 a.m., get 1/2 hour lunch and am supposed to leave by 4:30 which would get me home around 5:45. Usually I'm not home until later, tonight it was 6:55! Barely had time to pee today, much less nap. Oh well, I have a job that doesn't involve night shift.

Jan, I'm not sure we voted on allowing you to not be here!

Tina, love the photos Olivia posted on FB, sure looks like you all had a great time in the skit.

I'm bored, wish there was more chatter.

Morning all. Woke up tired. Not a good sign. Oh well, I woke up!

Finished the wrist corsage for my nephew Andrew to give to his prom date. I want him to make the final okay on it then I'll post photos. Think it turned out pretty good considering I've never made one before. Not so sure it wouldn't have been cheaper to buy one, LOL.

Full house today at work so no time to dally this morning. I left a pile of stuff on my desk to finish when I left yesterday.

Have an awesome Thursday all!!!!

Theresa - Dang...I just had to leave to go check out FB...I didn't know she posted those. We did have fun, but I definitely made a fool out of myself.

Tammy - Is your Grandpa doing any better?

I'm supposed to have an easy day at work today, my schedule is pretty clear. I hope you all have pleasant, stress-free days today too.

morning, girls -

well, I stayed home today...this cold/or whatever it is, has worn me out. not a clear thought passes through my head so if there is lots of stuff you read that you don't understand you'll know why, LOL. I even left J's early last night, a first for me.

Tina - after this I'm going to check out those pics, LOL.

Jan - I miss you, girl - thank goodness I see you on WWF

Diana - how exciting this is for Daniel...glad we get to live it through you

Nylene - I rarely buy J's papers, except for cardstock mostly.(although recently I did buy some Heidi Grace stuff when we had an extra employee percent discount day) I use a lot of my older papers, esp. Basic Gray, of which I have a lot I also used to belong to a kit club and so I've still got a lot of "kits" left, or pieces...not to mention Jan, Diana and Linda supplying me with a lot of goodies when they purged their supplies. I also buy from an online store on occasion besides 2Ps, MyScraps&More - they sometimes do 30, 40, 50% off, and it's pretty hard to resist when you get that much off a piece of paper, LOL. Plus,
when I've won for a challenge, etc., there are almost always papers involved So, to all who have donated to my scrappy supplies, thank you including you, Nylene

Tammy - how is your boy doing? how is Grandpa?

Monica B - congrats on the graduation - how many degrees do you hold now? Look at it this way, too, you'll have something to fall back on no matter what

Linda/Wanda - sending you guys lots of hugs. Miss you both.

Melanie - good luck on the diet. I keep telling myself to get out to the park again and start walking...I'm hoping to do it this summer, if J's doesn't put me on mornings all the time. It's way too hot at night, or in the afternoon.

Anyway, I best be going...
It's time to relax a little bit again.

Grandpa is doing well, they are looking to put him in a step down unit out of the ICU. He's too weak for any invasive procedures. They're still doing a work up on him but think mild heart attack, probably blockage somewhere.

Joey's fever finally turned down, he's been at 100-101 for about 18 hours. hoping to see it come down more today.

Thanks for asking!

Good Morning CGs. It's Thursday. Can't believe how fast the week goes. I used to be able to keep up but now time just seems to get away from me. So much to do, so little energy.

Planning on volunteering today then filling out the class application. Hesitating because I suspect I'm being edged out as they never let me work on desktops, only laptops. Oh well, can't hurt trying for it. After all if I don't get in, it's the same as if I didn't apply, right? can't get selected unless I apply. I have to remember that for some other paperwork I want to finish.

Kids have MSP assessment testing (day 2 of writing) my kids' least favorite and jazz band after school. Don't remember if I told you, but the band teacher fired the unpopular jazz band instructor (kids were leaving band) and hired someone else to finish out the year. I think everyone is happier. I know the obys are. They got the band teacher back whom they really like/respect.

Have an annoying pain in my left side about bra level...hope it goes away soon. Allergies are full force; how is that possible when it's raining? Isn't the rain suppose to help clear the air? Took allergy meds but so far no real relief.

NOt much happening in my side of the world these days...just everyday stuff.

Who's going to do iNSD at 2peas?

Debi

Hey girls! Can't believe how fast this week has flown by. We're getting ready for Will's birthday party here Saturday. It's just family but still special for him. My baby is almost 4! I had a girl at work make a cake for him and it turned out so cute!

Tammy - Keeping your grandfather in my prayers. Glad to hear his is improving. Hope Joey's fever continues to come down.

Debi - I know what you mean about the allergies. I've been doing pretty well with them this spring until this week and they've been hitting me big time. I think I'm going to have to make a run to the pharmacy for more allegra. Hope you get that class.

Tina - Hope your day is going smooth. Going to have to go look for those pictures.

Theresa - Can't wait to see the corsage. I'm sure it's beautiful.

Toni - Hope you're feeling better today.

Melanie - Sounds like your season is off to a good start. Good luck with the diet.

Waving hi to everyone else. Hope you all have a great Thursday!

Hi all just thought I would stop by and let you know I am still alive. I have finally gotten in a good routine with the baby and work, but we don't get home until almost 5 most days and then we are both in bed by 9... It's really cutting in to my creative time but I am hoping to have some time this weekend to do something I can't have a NSD without scrapping. Hope everyone is doing well and I will check back later.

Tammy happy to hear Joey and Grandpa are both doing better.

Jodi, happy to see you!

Toni, hope you feel better soon.

I think my problem has been drinking soda again. I'd stopped for the longest time, my skin, hair and nails all looked so much better. Started back up again and my stomach is acting up again, hair, skin and nails look like crap! I don't drink a lot of soda though, but then again, never did. Of course, I stopped by Sam's tonight and bought some Grape Crush to add to my ice cream. Can you believe Randy never had a Purple Cow before!!!!

Dropped some stuff off at Aunt Joyce's on the way home. She looks awful but she's hanging in there. She'd went to the green house and picked me up a citronella plant (wards off mosquitoes) and a tomato plant. Should have put the tomato plant in the ground when I got home but I also picked up a rotisserie chicken from Sams for dinner and that seemed like the best option for what to do.

Have my monthly crop tomorrow night. Threw some stuff together. Need to work on cards. I'm SO behind!!!

Headed to bed. Hope everyone has sweet dreams.

Wanda and Linda, hope things are going better for you today. Hugs!
Linda, you know it will be worth it in a few months. I'm sure you don't feel that way right now. Wanda, you are a sweet, sweet friend.

Jen, wish Will a Happy Birthday. He grew up too fast! Hope you all have a great day.

Tammy, glad Joey is doing better. Also good news on your Grandpa. The poor dear. I'm sure he's struggling emotionally as well as physically.Prayers said.

Toni, I'm glad you stayed home. You need to get on top of this cold/illness. Have you ever heard of burning your candle at both ends???? I think you are the poster child. LOL! Hope you are doing better tomorrow. I'm glad to know your papers are often older product. I just love them! That means I need to dig into my stash and find older product and stay out of the stores! Archivers is just calling to me this week. So far I've resisted, but there's always tomorrow.

Tina, I don't do facebook, so if there are incriminating photos, you have to post them here too. I wish I could have been in the audience.

Theresa, sorry your new doc is not working out. The dr I worked for tried having a partner 3 times while I worked there. It never worked out. He was like an old bachelor...stuck in his old ways.
He liked things done HIS way and no other.

Melanie, good luck on the diet. We just started ours last week. I hate having to think and figure for every meal. I hate cooking and tend to just grab something. Therefore, I'm fat. But I hope to change that somewhat.

Debi, I'm sorry you are bored. I have lots of housework I could put you on if you come on over! You need to scrap, scrap, scrap!

I know I'm missing things, but it's almost bedtime and I'm exhausted. I have my Friday crop tomorrow morning and I used Jan's instructions to make up a couple of page kits. Then the grands will be coming for a sleepover in the afternoon. Should be a crazy day.

Hugs to all!

hey y'all!
Been another busy week... don't think it's ever NOT busy anymore! Let's see, I picked out new glasses on Tuesday and got all set up to babysit while my cousin is gone, yesterday I subbed high school, and today I reserved a shelter for my grad party and picked up cap & gown and got some homework done in anticipation of a scrappy weekend!

Have I mentioned that I am watching my cousin's 12y/o son part of the time they are in Jamaica? I will be at their house Sunday through Thursday. I basically just have to get him to school, pick up from school, cook dinner, make sure he does homework, and one trip to boy scouts. Should be kind of like a stay-cation, getting the house to myself during the day! And he's a good kid. I doubt I'll have any problems.
------

Theresa- ha! I've never heard of a purple cow either. But I sure like root beer floats! I have been trying to cut out pop, too, but haven't completely. I haven't bought any, but still get one occasionally when I eat out.

Jodi- hi! Good to hear that you guys are getting into a routine, even if you haven't fit in scrapping yet. What about the weekends? Hope you get to do something for NSD weekend!

Jennifer- I saw Will's cake on Facebook - it's sooo cute! Has he seen it yet?

Debi- I might take part in 2Peas NSD festivities, probably not iNSD (is it separate?). They won't say a word about what they are doing yet, though, so not sure if it is going to be anything good or not...

Tammy- Prayers for Grandpa. That's what happened to my grandpa & step-grandma... they lived together, just the two of them, for so long that I don't think he could bear it without her Makes me sad. Anyway, glad Joey is slowly doing better. Cracks me up that you know he is not feeling well if he isn't talking!

Toni- That's good that you took the day off to recover. I imagine you will need the energy this weekend! As for degrees for me, this will technically be my first degree (sad, huh?). I could have gotten my bachelors in elementary education, but I found out that once you have your first bachelors you cannot get any more Pell grants. So I purposefully didn't complete the last step to get my degree (turn in a portfolio) because I knew I wanted to get my degree in accounting instead. Good news is that it will only take me 3 more semesters to get my bachelors in accounting, and then hopefully I will be done forever!

Tina- LOL, you didn't even know Olivia posted the play pics on FB? I loved them!

Melanie- A 30 mile garage sale? wow! I have seen something like that on tv before... I can't imagine all the work that would go into organizing something like that. Good for you on the diet + bike! I wanted to get a bike sooo bad. I think it would be great exercise for me. But it's just not in the budget

Jan- We'll miss you. What's taking up your time these days?

Barbara- Good to see you around again this month! I have been researching the HCG diet, too. One of my brother's friends started an HCG business with her mom - they do really really well with it. But it is EXPENSIVE! I was going to talk to my endocrinologist about it since it's a hormone and see what she has to say.

*hi to everyone I missed!

Hi Girls!

Just a quick fly by! I'm still running around like a chicken without a head, though I do get mornings off again from next week Maybe I'll be able to catch up on the chatter (and praising, though that will take A LOT longer).

The challenges look great. LOL, I have 2 of March's to still post and didn't do any for April... whew, life just seems to be running away from me.

LINDA - hang in there! Eat little meals and take those meds. Bionic Girl wasn't created in a day... Wanda, thanks for looking after our girl.

My mom is still with us though she can't stand anymore and, though she is eating again, is getting weaker steadily. The pain is starting to get bad and Hospice is considering morphine for the first time. We were hoping it wouldn't get to that point, because of the disorientation it causes. But we need to keep her as comfortable as possible.

I probably won't get any scrapping done for NSD (should be InterNational SD) but did do a few LO's last week (we had a long weekend off - Friday through Tuesday)just need to find the time to post them...

Have a great Friday everyone!

May the 4th be with you!!!!

Michelle, hugs for what your family is going through with your Mom. Been there, don't that, wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy!

Linda and Wanda, hope you're both still doing well today!!!! Going to try and call tonight when I get off work. Cell phone service has been crazy. Was going to call last night but my sister called about getting a new job and by the time she got off the phone I was home and fixing dinner. After that, forget it, my body collapsed. Home at 7, in bed at 9:15!

Nylene, it's not the old doc that is the problem in our office, it's the new one. He's a spoiled child and wants everything his way. He wouldn't even take call for the old doc after he had his hernia surgery last Thursday. Old doc had to come in Friday morning and make rounds! (I keep saying old but he's just 50 and the new one is 41.) Yesterday old doc had the schedule full and new doc called three people and told them to come in to see him--wasn't his clinic day at all!!! He also thinks that the staff should drop whatever they are doing and do his stuff whenever he asks but his notes are still not dictated, some going back to April 18. Yeah, it's been a nightmare. Don't want to make it sound like he's not nice, his patients love him and he's very friendly, just spoiled. He's only been practicing for less than 4 years and the old practice he was with was larger and had a ton more staff. He just can't quite get that there is only one nurse, two techs and one receptionist for both men now and that we only have 4 exam rooms. Not sure how much longer it is going to take to get that into his head.

Enough whining, have to get with it. Really hoping to get out of there early today, have to be at the church ready to scrap by 7.

Happy Friday ladies!

Jen - I hope Will has a really happy birthday! It's hard to believe that he's 4 already...it goes sooo fast!

Jodi - So glad to see you back with us again. Those first couple of years of being a parent are exhausting...so I'm not surprised that you don't have a lot of time to scrap. I hope you are able to carve out a little time for yourself this weekend.

Tammy - So glad to hear that your Grandpa and Joey are doing better!

Theresa - Have fun at your crop tonight! I hope you get lots done.

We are going to see the Avengers tonight...Ron & Grif are soooo excited. They are such nerds.

Nylene - Here is the link to the goofy photos of me. BTW, you know that I must love you to post them.

If one of you has the DW calendar and wants to scan a page and send it to me so that I can change the challenge, that would be great. I know that Wanda is really busy right now.

I have a conference to attend today, so it will be an easy Friday.

I hope you all have a great day!

Tina

quiet here today! Is anybody going to be up for Skype chatting tonight or tomorrow?

I have been trying to scrap, but got distracted. First, my friend stopped by for a visit. Then my brother texted me saying he needed me to take him to urgent care. He decided to try to make it through work instead and wants me to take him to the ER tonight. I just hope they can figure things out... has me worried since he is worried.

I am finally sitting down to scrap, though

Tina, you should join Tammy & I on Skype! It's fun and, again, it's just text chat (like you would on F, no video. So you can come & go as you please.
