SnE

If so, do you like it? Does it work well?

I'm a sit down scrapper and do a lot of 2 page spreads and this would be a good solution to keeping the 2 pages even for elements that go across both pages. I'm looking into asking for it for my bday soon.

I have never seen this before but it looks good. My concern would be that there does not appear to be a ledge or anything at the bottom to keep things from sliding down. I guess that is what the magnets are for but not sure I love that. Hard to know when you can't SEE it IRL.

Hope you get someone who has used it to answer your question

I don't have it, but I want it now. That looks so neat! I am also a (mostly) standing scrapper, and it *kills* my back. I wonder if this would help me stay put in my chair.

TFS!

Okay, I answered this once, I guess it went to never land of 2 peas. I don't have this, but I want it.

There is also something called F.R.E.D. I think it is made of wood and has a ledge at the bottom that I have been interested in.

I will try to find it. Jane

I have one and LOVE IT!!! I can leave things out without having my kids touch them.

There is a little pocket thing in the corner where you can slip the background paper into and then build on top.

My neck loves it too. I can sit up more with it since I'm not having to lean over.

I looked at it, but it seems to me that I had read some reviews that weren't too great on it. Maybe one was even a you tube video?? I seem to remember a person who was reviewing the product and let you see it in video - they gave their honest opinion. It seems to me that something didn't really work very well on it.

I don't recall it being a big deal at the time, but just something that for the price of the Scrap'n Easel certainly shouldn't have been an issue!

I think this is the one I looked at, I liked being able to actually SEE the pros and cons of the product. I was even struck initially that the vinyl was bubbled all over (Not a really big deal of course, but still for the price....?)

Scrap N Easel review

I have to scrap from bed most of the time, so I really would love a product like this or the F.R.E.D. that would let me see two pages upright as I work on placement of photos, embellies etc.

DH said he would help me make me one, and I think I'm going to use the magnetic MM mats for the background? Hopefully this summer!

Looked for FRED. I found a reference to it from 2007. The link to their website went to one of those "you can buy this website name for" notices. So, I guess the company is out of business.

I have it and like it. The only thing is that when you close it with your magnets holding your layout and embellishments in place, the magnets can sort of switch sides. When that happens, things can fall off. I need to pick up a piece or two of 12x12 chipboard to slip between so it won't do that.

It's a little heavy, too. So if your crop bag has to be carried, it does add to the weight.

But it's a very handy thing to have for a layout in progress. I'm a slow scrapper, so I like that I can just close it up on my layout and still have everything in place (at least it will once I get the chipboard).

This thread is giving me ideas. DH is building an airplane in our garage, so has lots of scrap aluminum in sheets...I wonder if he can bend me one? I already have the Bazzill magnetic mats, they could sit on the aluminum easel for magnetic backgrounds. yep, I'm liking this idea...

If you go that route, you should google that F.R.E.D. and I'd bet you'd get some good ideas - as I recall that one used metal sheets too! If you get your dh to make you one, please come back and post pictures!

Building an airplane......? You just never know WHAT some people have in their garages (perhaps in your case we should call it a Hanger)!

My friend has the Scrap N Easel and it is on my wishlist. If someone doesn't buy it for me pretty soon, I will just go ahead and buy it myself, lol!

My friend brings it whenever we go to a crop and she loves using it. The biggest benefit is the way it keeps her comfortable- no more scrapping backaches.

So, one is in my not-too-distant-future.

I'm trying to make my own version of FRED with the Recollections wood/metal board they sell at Michaels in the scrappy section.

I just have not come up with a good easel for it. Maybe I'll take it to my dad when I visit him again.

The Scrap N Easel alwayws looked kind of cheap to me, but unfortunately, I too, found that FRED was OOB. Wonder why nobody has picked up on that product yet?

If one of the Peas actually builds one, I'd love to check it out.

Building an airplane!? How awesome is that? I only have old yard tools and crap in my garage.

It wouldq be awesome to see how someone makes their own. I hate F.R.e.d went out of business. I would love to have one. I will be skipping on the easel as that YouTube video made it look really cheap.

Just got this today and I LOVE it! It's really going to help my back and neck, but also give me more 'work' space to do inking or whatever on just a part of the page while keeping everything else up and out of the way.

I have 2. I have one here in Canada and another for my scrapping in Florida in Winter. I don't scrap without it. I always do 2 page layouts and this is a must for me. I love trying things out layout wise with magnets before I commit.

I've had it for almost two years and LOVE it! My neck and shoulders would kill at treats from looking down for so many hours, now they don't. I also love how it gives me more space on my desk (I have my inking mat down, so I can ink edges and not worry about it getting on my LO). While a more expensive purchase, I don't like scrapping without it anymore!

I love mine. It's so great for planning things out and helps with neck strain because it's at eye level. I got mine on sale and it has been worth the money.

I like mine. I use mine and it definitely is a must for a two page scrapper. I just wish that it was lighter. It definitely adds a little weight to the crop bag.

I got the FRED when Noel Hyman at Paperclipping Roundtable had a video on her site about it a number of years ago. It was pricey but well worth it. So sad to hear it went out of business!

I love mine. The plastic overlays are marked off in grids, and it comes with a magnetic ruler so you can line things up.

I have one and think it is made pretty well actually. That being said, I do think it is overpriced. I have not been able to embrace using it, but when I go to my weekend crops there are tons of ladies who use it and love it!I think I need to rearrange my desk space and give it another try!

I have one and use it all the time. I did "alter" mine by cutting it in half so it is two 12x12 easels instead of 12X24 one - I pretty much only do one pagers.

I have it and I like it. I am not using it now because I have a 20 month old dgd who will eat anything she can find. So those magnets are safely hidden away until she can be trusted. (Do you think 20 years will be long enough?)

I absolutely love my easel! I love that it keeps everything in place until I am ready to glue it down. I love having my layout propped at an angle so I can really eye ball everything. I am a slow scrapper and I have to move everything around a hundred times before committing. It is awesome! Bonus factor; the cat can not steal goodies off my layout in progress.

The only thing I didn't really 'ooo' over were the magnets. Granted they are VERY strong, but my fingers didn't grip them so well. I know they make them smaller so you can fold it up, but two things, first when you fold it, some of the magnets transfered to the other side, so, note to self, I'm not closing up a design in there anymore. Secondly, if I'm not closing it up why do I need such small magnets. Granted you don't want them huge because it would take away from the layout you are looking at, however, I found some GREAT magnets at the container store that have a little ball at the end. Kind of like a handle. They are still not too much bigger than the one the easel comes with, but just big enough I can't grab them on and off with no trouble.

You just gave me an idea! What if u took some E6000 glue and attached a head or something onto the magnets it comes with? That might solve the problem of grabbing them.

I've hemmed and hawed about the SnE since it came out. My main hesitation (other than price) is that I have a MS desk hutch with drawers and if I need something out of them, the easel would b in the way. I was just thinking that I could buy a desk easel ( like ScrappyJedi) and just prop a magnetic mat on it!? I am mostly a single page scrapper so it could work! Need to bit M's or j's today!
