Do you think this is possible? Does anyone have any ideas of what you could use? It's just plastic right?

Could you just laminate a 3x12? I own a laminator...

Ooh good idea! I never thought about using a laminator.

I think I'll try it later.. You just have to remember to leave enough room to punch the holes (if you put something inside).

I also thought about cutting up some plastic binder dividers from the school supply section..

I personally wouldn't laminate anything. I heard it actually speeds up the deterioration process in photos and paper. but I could be wrong.

I would just laminate a photo that I laser printed on paper & the rest of my PL photos are in their own plastic sleeves. I wouldn't be too worried about that personally.

Why not just use a regular page protector and glue your pictures in what ever order on the page you wanted? I think I need to understand what you are trying to do.

Are you talking about the tabbed dividers?

I bought BH's for my PL, but I've also done some DIY ones for a HUGE vacation album that I split into sections.

I bought sheets of 11x18 quilt template plastic (in the quilting section at J's), then cut it to the size I wanted, punched 3 holes with my Cropodile, rounded the corners with my Corner Chomper and used StazOn to stamp the title of the section & a bit of a pattern on them (which takes some drying time, just FYI).

Worked really well for what I was doing, but be aware that they won't work in a post-bound album because they're too stiff for the pages to turn properly. I used a D-Ring binder for that album.

I bought some poly file folders from staples and cut them up - hole punched to fit.

I had to individually punch the 3 holes because it was only 11 inches long so it sticks up on the top of the page over the page protector but the bottom doesn't reach the bottom of the page - bot it works and a lot cheaper - I bought 15 folders for 7.99 and got 4 tabs out of each folder.

Staples Clear File folders

These are what I got AT the store - not sure why they are so overpriced online, I looked at my receipt and it is even less than I remembered, 4.30 for 15 pak of Easyview letter sized clear folders

Love to hear more ideas.....flip flopping whether I should purchase BH's or figure out to do myown too! Maybe laminate some PP....add a tab (punch or die) to the top to stick out. Anybody who has the BH ones....could you tell us the dimensions of the dividers?

Vicki- because they are dividing sections you need them to be a little stiffer than a normal page protector could give you Hope that helps!

This sounds like a neat idea as you really can do virtually anything with your dividers since the lamination would only be touching the outsides of regular page protectors. You could even laminate decorative paper/cardstock as dividers. Thanks for the idea!

ohhh I was in the same boat as Vicki. I didn't understand what you were trying to do. yeah laminating them would probably be a cool idea. It wouldn't be as thick as the plastic either so it would serve the purpose without the bulk. you would just have to allow a margin onside for holes. you could put whatever you like in there. a large photo, smaller photos, pp, a white or Kraft sheet with the month stamped on it and maybe a themey type thing like for march it could be green for st Patrick's day, July could be red, white, and blue, June could be summery colors. (or whatever works for the country you're in according to your holidays) or however you divide it in your album. I would do it by months but you could do seasons as well. I'm putting mine in smash books so I just have the fabric tab stickers noting special events like b'days and holidays.

Just found this post and thought I'd share what I decided to do. I have a stack of the Cropper Hopper paper dividers that I am not using. I cut them into 3" sections and rounded the corners. Voila!
