Got to take it for a spin at my lss. Can you spell A W E S O M E? I, however, do not need a new trimmer and it's a bit pricey to purchase "just because." The one thing I really liked was you can tell exactly where you are cutting. |

Bought it with my birthday money and the 43% off coupon at A's. I am in LOVE!! It cuts straight and you can tell exactly where it will cut. Yes, it is pricey ($120 before the coupon). But so far I think it was totally worth it! |

Yes, I could use a new trimmer too. I dropped mine on the way into a crop and it is now super-glued back together. I need to get one cause I know this one is not going to hold together much longer.

Yes, which one are you talking about? Is it the large one that unfolds and has the LED light?
I was using my '08 Fiskars trimmer today, wanting a new one "just because" and kinda' bitter that my 4 year old one is just fine.

It does unfold, but no laser light. It cuts through chipboard like nothing. I don't remember the name of it though, sorry. |

It's called the PROcision trimmer. It looks similar to the other foldable Fiskars trimmers, but the blade housing and the rails it sits on is very different. I found it hard to find when Googling, I guess because it's so new! |

I need to check this out. My biggest pet peeve with trimmers is that they often stop at 7 or 8 inches and they don't include an extension arm. Why do they do that?? Yes, I can subtract from the other end with the 2 inches they have there but there is a gray area between 7.5 and 10 inches. gripe, gripe, ok - I'm done. ) |

Fiskars posted on Facebook that the PROcision would be available in stores early Sept...but looking through a Google search, it looks like A's got an early shipment to demo and sell.
I have the 12" LED SureCut rotary trimmer, and recently had an issue with getting it to cut straight (it's a couple years old). The customer service from Fiskars has been exemplary, and my new replacement trimmer is on its way to me now.
Gotta love a company that stands behind their lifetime warranty with more than words! |

Went to A's yesterday and checked out the new trimmer. The associate folded some cardstock into fourths and let me cut it. I have to say the trimmer cut it without a problem.
However, I am not in the market for a new trimmer. I love my Tonic. BUT if I was, I would buy that bad boy.

Wow. If only I had an Archivers within a 200 mile radius!
How does one get a 43% coupon???
I am of the mindset that a trimmer is THE most important thing and I my Fiskars Rotary, but i do get SO tired of it only being 8 inches wide. I swear the math can just wear you out sometimes.
Sorry I was so brief above - but I was on my phone. Thanks to the Pea who posted the link. |

It sounds awesome, but the price will probably keep me from buying it, even with a coupon. I don't think I'm that unhappy with my current trimmer. |

Penny, you have to sign up for A's emails to get the coupon. It's too bad you don't have an A's closer to you (or...maybe it's a GOOD thing! LOL!). There's a new coupon pretty much every week, so I drive 25 minutes almost every week to see if there's anything new I HAVE to have. Today...nothing...so I used the coupon on an Archival Ink pad!
But last week that coupon got me the best trimmer I've ever had!! |

I couldn't tell from the description if you can lift the blade and place it where you want. My previous issues have been with rotary trimmers that can't lift up, such as when I want to cut out the center of a paper. |

I work at A's and have had plenty of chances to play with it. It's my favorite of the models we have to play with. I like that it folds up and the fact that the blade never needs replacing is worth it's weight in gold. Another nice feature is the area where the paper falls after being cut is deeper than the rest of the cutting surface, so it's easy to pick up the little pieces.
They are selling pretty fast so I'd get one sooner rather than later. |

A trimmer that can cut thru chipboard? That would be handy!
I have my head happily buried in the sand when it comes to trimmers, still using my original one from CM, the one before they came out with the rotary cutter. Works great for me, and I'm not replacing it until I have to! I even stocked up on the blades for it.

okay, i bought one. i just got back to the office and i gave it a try. here are my thoughts:
first of all---it's huge!! i have the MM paper trimmer right now and this thing is much bigger than that and i already have trouble finding space for that trimmer on my desk.
next---it's heavy. it would be great if i just kept my trimmer in one spot of my desk but i don't. i constantly shift it here and there. because of it's size and weight, it might be pain doing that.
--it seems to cut well. but then again, so does my current trimmer. admittedly, my current trimmer is not the straightest cutter.
--the paper guard seems kind of flimsy. same as my current one.
--there is a plastic film over the numbers. can someone tell me if this is supposed to come off or is that the protective cover they are talking about. if so, the one i bought has bubbling under that plastic film.
sooooooo, i don't know if i will keep it. i just don't know if it's worth the price considering it's just like my current trimmer. the dealbreaker for me is the size and weight. like i said, even folded up, it might be too bulky for me.

I got one yesterday for $54 at JoAnn and got to play with it tonight; here's my thoughts
nice straight easy cuts, no problems there.
the paper guard seems kind of unnecessary and I keep lifting it up when I haven't moved the blade out of the way, but I think I will get used to it.
love the base; that sucker doesn't slide around, even on my stainless steel island. That makes me very happy.
It is big and heavy, but I'm going to just dedicate a space for it and leave it there.
Feeling pretty good about buying it, especially at that price.
