I downloaded a software update today, and I am now having a terrible time trying to:
1.) Use print and cut files. I can't rearrange them on the page very easily. I have to click on the file, drag my mouse where I want the file to end up, and then wait until it moves. Annoying!
2.) I can't get the machine to talk to my printer. Machine's on and connected to the computer, printer is connected to computer. It should just work!
I'm totally bummed! Of course this would happen when I have a night to be crafty and finish up a(nother) Halloween banner. I want to cut some Chillingsworth Manor stuff out!
Guess I'll go find something else to do, unless anyone here has any advice! Of course, I'll email Silhouette customer service first!

I upgraded and had trouble yesterday. It seemed like it was sluggish and took forever to move a shape. Then it froze up. I figured I was overloading my computer since I was downloading stuff from iTunes.
Tonight it seemed ok.

I heard this was an upgrade problem. I haven't upgraded mine. The last upgrade the mat disappeared so all my print & cuts were off. I had to dig deep to figure out what the heck happened. I never upgrade until all the bugs are worked out with the new version of Silhouette Studio releases. I have had one too many problems. Right now I am using 2.58.
I don't know if this helps. My old computer I had the same problem of waiting for my image to move when I clicked on it. I had a memory leak with that computer. My new computer doesn't do that with my images. You might need some more memory or there is a leak from one of your programs. I know iTunes can be a huge culprit. I had iTunes opened one day with the Studio and my computer went into fits over it.

I wish there was an information page that tells you what's being upgraded. I feel like when I click on the upgrade and go to the page I never know what it is that's happening. I don't even see anything about a version number.

|Posted: 10/5/2012 7:48:27 AM|I keep NOT upgrading when I open the software, hoping I'll hear of a fix soon! I have noticed though, my mat/cut area is showing up weird. And it's not changing, even after I click the button for 12x12. Odd ... hope it still cuts fine, I really need to use it this weekend!!

I wish I knew about the upgrade bugs before I upgraded yesterday.

I read this thread when I was in the middle of downloading the upgrade and cancelled it before it completed. I hope they can get it fixed soon!

Wow, glad I read this before I clicked the upgrade button. It popped up for me to click the last couple of times I used it, but I was always in a hurry and didn't want to deal with the upgrade at the time. Now I'm glad. I did upgrade last time and I don't like the way the cut options are. For some reason, my speed on shows up on top of the options for blades. I can't get it to move down to where it should be. It's super annoying, but it does work.

|Posted: 10/5/2012 1:13:40 PM|some of the print and cuts were acting strange. i couldn't activate them to move them, or delete them. this was a problem with the last version with some of them as well. i did email silhouette, and i recommend everyone emailing them with their issues. if we don't, they think all is well.

I emailed Silhouette last night and got a very detailed reply about what I should try to do this morning. I haven't done it yet--going to wait until my husband gets home. (I'm famous for weird things happening to me on the computer.) It involved updating the driver for my memory card. I'll let you know if it works when I get around to it! In the future, I will think twice before upgrading the software, though!

I did the upgrade and I haven't had any issues with the print and cut feature, and I actually cut like for pages of print and cut images today.
Sorry your having issues, all I can say is contact customer support.

I upgraded mine yesterday and spent the whole afternoon trying to print and cut. I only had my Cameo for 2 wks have been using it everyday and never had a problem until I updated.
The print and cut was off about 10mm below the mark line. I wasted 20+ papers. I went to bed with migraine, fret spending 5hrs trying to figure out what's wrong.
First thing I did when I woke up is uninstall the SS upgrade and installed 2.5, and so far everything was good.. I don't know what it was..

I upgraded mine and then the machine and the computer quit talking to each other halfway through a cut. I would turn off the machine and back out of the program and then start over. Of course the paper I was using was ruined so that was a pain in my hinney! Hope they get this fixed.

I am having a problem with the silhouette designer software. Don't think this has anything to do with the last upgrade, but I am not sure.
When I try to import a paper to my library it doesn't show up. You can read the name of the file, but the image doesn't show up. It was importing all my files ok earlier tonight and all of a sudden it stops working.
Also, when adding .png files (elements) to my folders and they don't show up. You can read the name of the file but no image.
This is not the first time I have had these problems. I never know from day to day if it will work.
This seems to be an ongoing problem for me.
If anyone can help, I would appreciate it!
