I have been going to these for years. I just looked at the list of exhibitors for CKC Seattle this year and noticed that Technique Tueday isn't listed. They were one of the main reasons I still went. So, a few questions, if you have been to a CKC this year.

First, is it a lot smaller than past years? The list of exhibitors looked small to me.

Second, what is the name of the exhibitor who usually has a booth full of Basic Gray and Crate Paper? Here it has always been one of the most hopping booths.

I am trying to figure out if it is worth it to go this year or not. I only go for the shopping--I don't care for the classes.

Embellishment It has all the Basic Grey with matching Bazzill packs. Love Shelby and always spend most of my money in her booth.

Technique Tuesday wasn't at Tulsa CKC. But there was another all stamp booth. Can't think of the name.
Embellish It is my favorite booth!

I went to the one in cinci ohio. So crappy, So small. I was hoping the stamps of life was there. Nope. Our exhibitors were ctmh, 31 designs, creative memories, the armoire storage people, and other stores that were trying to get rid of old merchandise that were 2 yrs old or from companies that were out of business. everything was full prize. I could find way better deals online and they got really pushy if you paid with a credit card trying to get you to purchase more to meet a certain amount. They should of advertised cash only so we could come prepared. Barely any free make and takes. $3-$4 each and one company had a $15 layout make and take. Got there at 12:15 and by 1:30 I saw every booth. Not worth the $10 cover plus $4 parking if i walked 3 blocks. parking next to the show was $10. We have another show in the summers called stamp away. Now that is fabulous. Nothing but stamps as far as the eyes can see. I spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars every time I go. And ckc not even $60.

I go the Buffalo one each year - same as you with regard to not being interested in classes but going for the shopping. Buffalo has always been one of the smaller ones but it definitely gets smaller each year.

I too was disappointed with no TT - always spend the most there. I remember their announcement that they weren't attending any of the shows because they were struggling to find help to man the booths. Embellishment It, my other go-to booth, was not in Buffalo because Shelby had a family wedding or something like that the same weekend.

Despite my two favs not being there and it being smaller (I actually considered not going all, which is saying something for me!), I still managed to find some things. That was mostly because there was one vendor there selling BG and Echo Park kits - all have off. So I got several EP kits for $7.50 and did have fun walking around with my husband.

I'm always afraid Buffalo will drop off the list but I see that it is still on for 2013. Hopefully, they can turn things around a bit. I'm sure, when you considered how many scrap companies have gone out of business or are cutting back on costs, that it does get harder for them to bring in the same number of vendors year after year.

I'm going to CKC in Kansas City today so I'll let you know how it is when I get home this evening.

I agree that the event was considerably smaller last year. None of our local stores and local online stores have booths anymore. They were the ones that had the great make and takes. The booth rental got too expensive for them to make any money.

I went to the CKC in St. Louis in June and the list of vendors was twice as long.

I too was upset that TT AND Button Farm weren't going to be there at CKC San Marcos. But 2 booths (including Embellish It) had BF stuff, and Stamps of Life WAS there. I was pretty happy with the shopping overall - there were a few new booths that had good selections and good prices. I think it was a little smaller than in previous years but still worth it.

I just got home for CKC - KC. The vendor fair may have been smaller than in the past but I personally felt like there was a nice selection. Embellish It was not at KC. Rubbernecker Stamps was there and seemed to be a popular booth. There were at least 4 of the "dollar type" booths -- I didn't stop at all of them. I took several classes and was pleased with the majority of them.

Shopped the ckc kc show yesterday and was surprised to not see the BG booth this year. Felt like way too many close out booths -$1 stuff etc and felt it was a sign of the times to see a scentsy booth there. Found some good stuff, but it saddens me to see how much it's changed.

I attended CKC San Marcos last month. No Technique Tuesday; but I've never really been a customer so I didn't feel the loss.

I did see Button Farm. I even took a few photos.

Overall, it wasn't like the old days; but it's still nice to come together with other scrappers and celebrate our craft.

Embellish It, according to an email a friend received from them, couldn't be in KC because of a scheduling conflict. It definitely felt like something was missing without them! The smell coming from the Scentsy booth was incredibly overpowering -- I felt bad for the people at the Nicole Peterson booth next door. I agree with a previous poster that it seemed like too many close-out/$1/cheapy vendors. Still a pretty good selection, though, but definitely not as many vendors as previous years.

I went to CKC in Kansas City today and had a great time shopping in the Vendor Faire. My friends and I found everything we wanted. However, we're not stampers so we didn't really look at the stamp booths.

To me, it was a good mix of bargain booths and booths that had the latest and greatest.

My friend & I went to CKC-Kansas City today. I don't think it was smaller than last year in respect to number of booths, but the "scene" has definitely changed. Like others said, there are a lot more of the closeout booths with older products. And some of the booths have really shrunk in size/products - Scrap Mart, for example, used to have lots of newer goodies (like OA), but they were TINY and had no OA I also noticed more pre-made pages (ones that are NOT my style) and the odd Scentsy booth.

I went to the one as a shopper in Portland earlier this year. It did seem a bit smaller.
I took a new-to-scrapbooking friend with me, and we still found plenty of things to buy. I'm a little more picky than my friend, looking for more new to the market stuff. And I still left with a couple shopping bags of stuff (Papers from Oct. Afternoon, The Paper Loft, Basicgrey and Echo Park, and stamps from Avocado Arts, all came home with me! And a lot of random little things, too.) My friend picked up some templates (not really my thing), die-cuts and some stuff from the bargain booths.

By the way, Technique Tuesday announced in April that they wouldn't be doing the conventions this year. Tena talked a bit about it on their blog:
TT's blog post on conventions
