A while back there was some chatter about the new Fiskers trimmer that was due out last month. I'm wondering if anyone bought it, and if so what they think.

I am starting to make wedding invitations and cutting straight is a HUGE issue. My Cutterpede, while I feel quite sentimental about it, is just not cutting it (pardon the pun) and I need a real, solid tool for cutting.

Thanks in advance for any input!

I'm on a road trip and on my phone. If you click on me and go to my message board posts, search around the end of the month and you'll see the thread. it!

Pennyscraps talked me into it too! I was also using a Cutterpede and this is definitely a step up. What I love about it is that it folds in half, so it doesn't have a (too) big footprint. (I was debating getting the Cutterpillar, but it was just too big for me.) It is rather large vertically, but horizontally folds into a manageable size. The blade is quite sharp and it cuts straight. One other thing I was worried about was the paper guard. I thought I'd have to lift it up for every piece of paper (which sounded like a pain), but it turns out the paper just slides under it quite nicely. Hope that helps!

i am very happy with mine. So far, I have no complaints. Cuts very thin lines when needed.

I didn't like it one bit. It takes up way more space than the cutterpillar, you can't measure a 6 inch cut, it is difficult to use while sitting (but I stand most, so that is not a dealbreaker for me), and I hate the plastic flap thing. I took it back, I will deal with the non foldingness of the cutterpillar and keep its light, 6 inch measurement capability, and lack of annoying flap that makes it impossible to cut a piece of paper that is not at least 4 inches long.

Other people clearly love it, but I thought other than the fact it cut straight it was a total dud.

thank you, all, for your feedback. I'll be sure to purchase from someplace that takes returns.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE mine. I've had a Purple Cow rotary, an old guillotine, two or three smaller Fiskars Surecuts, and two Fiskars Deluxe Surecut 12". I loved my first Deluxe Surecut, but the wire broke and I had to replace it. My second one was terrible--it never cut straight. I finally decided to get something good and had considered a Dahl or Carl, but Archiver's had the Fiskars Procision on display. I tried it and loved it (luckily I had a good coupon, too). I like that it can cut through a few layers of cardstock and also make very fine cuts (two problems I was having with the Deluxe Surecut). I can't say enough good things about it!

My store doesn't have it at this time. Not sure if we will be carrying it.
