I really want to get back to Sbing again , at least to finish my dds high school years and to do my sons wedding. After that , who knows? I Could go back in time and do some baby pics.but not sure if I want to go there yet.
So I started a mini clean out tonight. I just feel, like I can't get started till things are organized.kwim? I threw away about 25 page kits that I know I would never use. I threw away paper, stickers , transparencies, chipboard. Now ,before anyone says anything I have a large pile of stuff to donate also but I doubt anyone would want pre made page kits and most of the throw away stuff is ragged. I probably have alot more to get rid eventually but for now things look better.
Part of me is sick at the money I wasted but I decided to look at it as I had a lot of fun putting the kits together so it wasn't a loss totally. Plus if this gets me Sbing again and using up some of my other supplies, that will also be a Plus.

I understand exactly how you are feeling. I've been so overwhelmed with the amount of stuff, especially old stuff that was just sitting here, so when I came into my scrapbook room I just watched t.v. and organized stuff.
Finally I decided to purge. All the paper that I liked at one point but had not use for now, got tossed, all the stuff that was old and half used went. I purged 1/3 of my stuff. I even put up all the pictures I had printed to scrap and decided to start fresh. And it worked for me.
I am current on my photos, and when I was on a roll, I pulled out some of the ones I had put away and scrapped them, finished up some other projects and starting working on some that had just been sitting there. I've bought some stuff since then, but no where near what I gave away.

I agree a purge and toss is sometimes what it takes. I do one periodcally and then try to stay on top or reorganizing, so I know what I have and where everything is. It does make one feel better.

I don't think there is anything wrong with this.
You own the stuff, the stuff does not own you!
Why, YES!, I am a princess.

I look at it this way, I throw away (or donate) things in my house all the time. Why would my hobby stuff be any different? If you are not going to use it, then it serves no purpose in the house. Deal with it and move on. Life is farrrrr too short to get caught up in guilt over paper.
Hope you get your scrappy goove on now!

Awhile back my dd (who is only 1 1/2) got into a HUGE bag of scraps and dumped them out all over the living room. Some she crunched up but most were just spreAd out all over creation. I just got so fed up, picked them all up and threw them in the recycling bin. Some were large scraps but I feel better now that they're gone. I tried to use up what I could. To be honest I would forget about them. I had tried to challenge myself to NOT buy any new paper and use the scraps.

My biggest problem is being afraid to use the "good" stuff. I feel I should "save" it. Then it gets old, looks dated and I am no longer am excited about using it. I not only cannot throw away, I have a hard time just "using" my stash. I keep needing to reminding myself it's okay to USE it. Even markers, sprays, inks and paints- I am always worried about using them up (luckily I don't have to feel that way about stamps)

Good for you. I've donated, gifted and thrown away several things pertaining to scrapbooking.

I know how you feel, I did a major purge about a year or so ago and it felt great! I donated some, sold some, gave some to my girls and even threw some out for the garbage. I will probably do another purge after Christmas too to help keep it all under control and not let it get to bad again. I have been scrapping a lot more this last year so I am actually using up some of my stash or a change. I had set a goal for myself to scrap at least 75 pages for 2012 and I have already passed that goal and it's only the first week of October!

I've purged twice in less than 3 months. And that was because I knew had had things that I knew that I would never ever use. I just had it cause it was on sale or cause I needed to spend a dollar more to get my punch card punched at my LLS. I.E the 5 million bottles of stickles lol. I don't regret doing it because it's mad me more aware of what I buy now.

I have been purging small sections at a time and I recently did my paper and stickers. I can't believe the sheer amount of money that I have spent on product that I never ended up using. I am lucky that I have two kids that love craft so it never goes to waste but it still eye opening to see the dollar value of stuff that goes unused and then purged.
