I try to be good about organizing my photos and memorabilia but once in awhile I will realize a perfect photo or item has been left out after I'm done. If this happens to you and you don't want to re-do the whole page or do another complete layout how do you "squeak in" an extra photo or something else to a finished page?

I am a pocket & booklet Queen! If you have not left one of these spaces all ready for when you "discover" something to add, perhaps you could un-du a matted photo & re-mat it on a fold out?

I do the same thing, usually make a pocket or fold out for it.

If I thought it was too important to leave out, I'd most likely just make another page for it.

How do you make pockets and booklets? I am drawing a blank.

Thanks

The back of the page is a great place to put things. I've made a pocket to included that leftover picture, a brochure, etc. and placed it on the back of the page. A tag or bit of ribbon sticking up lets you know something is there.

That doesn't happen much to me because I'm too much of a planner. And because sometimes my plans deliberately exclude certain photos.

I guess the main reason it would is if we were using both cameras or one of our phone cameras and the main camera, and the pictures didn't all get printed at the same time, so the first batch was already scrapped before the others came in. I would do a second LO in that case.

Is there any way you could change it to a 2 page layout and coodinate the new page to go with it as best you can?

Depends on what it is.

If its a picture then I may do a single page to go with the other LO ( which in my case is probably already 2 pages) or I have cut those 6 up page protectors in half so there are 3 slots & see if I can fill things in that way.

If its a ticket stub or some smaller item I try to see if there's somewhere I can add to to the LO.
If I can't find a place to add it or its a brochure I (gasp) recycle it and say 'oh well no one will care about them when I'm dead anyway'

It depends on what it is. If I really want it on the LO it must be an important photo, so I might scrap another page for it.
I did a vacation album where I wanted to include 2 more pics but did not have enough room on my single page LO, so I used a divided pp (6 hz photos) and cut it in half and have it in the album in front of the single page LO.
I did not want to do a complete 2 pager as I had another single LO before this one.
I worked the "half" page in to the design and it looks great!

It depends on what it is. If it is a photo, I'll just make a coordinating page. If it is a brochure or something else I've either put it in a pocket behind the layout or into my smash book.

I'll also put extra photos in my smash book as well.

Have you seen Shimelle's 4x6 Photo Love videos? The ones from July and onwards have ideas you might be able to use to add your forgotten pieces.

Thanks for the ideas to get my creative juices flowing. I'm thinking adding a pocket might work for some maps and larger stuff. Thanks for the links Carolyn I had not seen those from Shimelle so I'll look around and see if something really hits me.

I have done this a few times with okay results but I have been focusing on not over buying and really getting my stash cut down. As a result I have been using up the last bits of older collections which are hard to match sometimes.

Candie/ladybug4233, the simplest pocket is just to adhere your matted photos on 3 sides only, which allows you to slip something behind it/them, maybe using a tab to stick out to remind you something is there.

The simplest booklet is made by simply cutting a cardstock photo mat twice the width of what you need for the photo & scoring & folding it down the middle like a greetings card, which you then stick down.

An accordion folded photo mat is just a step further-- start with 3 times the width of the photo, score twice & zig-zag fold it.
